Palin signs second book deal

Sarah Palin is writing a second book to be released by Harper Collins.
Sarah Palin is writing a second book to be released by Harper Collins.

(CNN) - Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, whose 2009 memoir "Going Rogue" remains a New York Times bestseller four months after it was released, has signed on to write a book about "America's virtues and strengths."

The yet-to-be-named book - appearing to have trappings fit for an aspiring political candidate - will be a reflection on "the key values - both national and spiritual - that have been such a profound part of her life and which continue to inform her vision of the future," according to publisher Harper Collins.

The book will also feature "selections from classic and contemporary readings" that have inspired the former Republican vice presidential nominee.

Harper Collins, which published "Going Rogue," was mum on how much money Palin is receiving for the book. A financial disclosure form last fall revealed she was paid $1.25 million by the publisher as a retainer.

Like "Going Rogue," Palin's latest book was negotiated by Robert Barnett, the high-profile Washington lawyer who has sealed lucrative deals for a number of high-profile politicians, most recently newly-elected Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown.

Is she going to have to be briefed and tutored on which "classic and contemporary readings" inspire her? Will these inspirations come from anything more philisophical than "Hop on Pop"?

    Obvious joke:

I guess this means she's written more books then she has read.

    Not as obvious joke:

I hope her publisher finds a good ghostwriter!

CNN PLEASE STOP TALKING ABOUT HER EVERY MOVE!!!!!!!

I love it when the far lefties here would pour out their hatred towards Sara Palin but would whine like there is no tomorrow whenever someone puts down their boy obama.

Sarah Palin is just wonderful–I love her courage and guts and also her Husband's support–she has a beautiful family. To me she stands for what all American women need as a model and mentor. Good luck to her.

Hmmm; someone who couldn't cite a single thing she read regularly suddenly has a trove of "classic and contemporary readings" to draw from for a full-length book. Give me a break. I hope her ghost writer is well read for her sake.

One of the virtues and values will not be finishing a job that one has started.

She can (ghost)write. But, can she read, as in newspapers?

    CNN:

Two Sarah Palin stories in one morning. This has to be a new record. Have you placed Rick Sanchez in charge of content selection for the Political Ticker? The reason I ask is when I see something from CNN that is really stupid I think of Rick Sanchez.
By the way, have you fired Rick Sanchez yet after his performance of the Chilean earthquake/tsunami last Saturday? If you have not done so you might consider doing so. VERY PAINFUL to try to watch him.

I will give it to Palin – she's taking full advantage of her 15 minutes of fame and cashing in big time.

  13. Palin is A Moron

In the traditional America Sarah Palin always talks about, I thought the men were the breadwinners. Todd must wear the panties in the house and she wears the trousers.

Oh, I am positively "giddy" with anticipation. Puleeeeease! I'm convinced that the people (aka right-wing organizations) that bought her first book never bothered to read it. She's just not that interesting, and her next book will, most likely, be more of the same... except this one will include her favorite "selections from classic and contemporary readings". HOW EXCITING!!!

Enough already. I'm sick of this moron: the books she obviously didn't write herself, her family, her presidential aspirations, her comedy routines, and everything else to do with her.

In case you haven't noticed, she is not a politician. She is some nutjob who doesn't know when to shut up, or when her 15 minutes is up. So, what is she doing on the Political Ticker every day? Today it's twice. If she belches, will there be a third article? Put her in the entertainment section, and let's discuss real politics.

Please give it a rest, CNN.

  16. Bristol Palin = the next Kate Goselin

Palin is already the most published author ever to seek the Presidency. Palin's intellect cannot be questioned and her thirst for learning and reading can be admired by all. Best of all, she writes books only to help others, sharing her wisdom for the benefit of the average American. She has aroused the interest of an adoring public that recognizes she is the most attractive candidate ever.

    Yawn.
Palin is doing this for money, the right wing propoganda machine supports this so they can buy more right-wing propoganda full of nonsense for the purpose of claiming the book and the fantasy it supports is real?
And CNN thinks anyone but Fox media mob cares – please avoid stories about the right wing celebs – the rest of us don't care.

Good for her. By the way, CNN should actually try to investigate a story before just putting out there that Palin is shopping a tv show for her family. I believe the correct information is that Palin and another person is trying to get a show for Alaska. I guess CNN and its 500 viewers hate Palin so bad that you can't bother to check your facts. That is why no one watches CNN anymore.
