'Most Wanted' locks up Obama exclusive

(CNN) – President Obama will appear on "America's Most Wanted" with the show's host John Walsh this Saturday to commemorate its 1000th episode.

According to Deputy White House Spokesman Bill Burton, the president taped a 15 minute interview in the White House's Map Room with Walsh on Wednesday morning before delivering remarks in the East Room.

The president used the interview to congratulate Walsh on his show's success, but also to tout his administration's own anti-crime initiatives.
In clips released by "America's Most Wanted," Mr. Obama tells Walsh that last year's "huge economic crisis" raised great concern about the possibility for lawlessness to follow.

"One of the things we were most worried about was how this would this affect law enforcement. Because you started seeing state and local budgets hemorrhaging and there were the prospects of tens of thousands of cops on the streets being laid off." Mr. Obama said, crediting the White House for preventing that from happening.

"What we did was working with state and local governments, got four billion dollars in additional funding so that we kept those law enforcement officials doing the great work that they do each and every day," Mr. Obama said.

For John Walsh, "America's Most Wanted" is a personal crusade. He began hosting the show 22 years ago after his 6 year-old son Adam was abducted and killed in 1981.

Mr. Obama told Walsh, "I know Adam is looking down on us, and saying you know, my Dad has really done something incredible."

President Obama tried to personalize his own commitment to fighting crime by pledging "to do everything in our power as long as I'm in the White House, and as long as I'm the father of two girls, to make sure that we are providing the states the support that they need to make this happen."

"America's Most Wanted" claims responsibility for capturing more than 1,100 fugitives and reuniting 43 missing children with their families.

Good for you, Mr. President; it's high time to start taking credit for maintaining normalcy in a country that was poised for bedlam.

America's Most wanted? ....how about a balance budget. We need to somehow find the courage to forgo special interest and lobbyist and cut spending dramatically to balance the budget. No more entitlement programs! Stop taking money from the hardest working Americans to give free stuff (housing, food, healthcare) to lazy Americans. Everyone must work. Everyone must pay some taxes.

A Balanced budget should be on the FBI's most wanted list!

Actually, Obama is currently shown by the polls, the most unwanted (along with most of his democrat cronies).

What is with the Political Ticker? Hey, CNN, why did you move its link from the politics home page? It is very hard to find now. Why would you bury such a great feature??

Obozo is a crime, he will be impeached and thown out of office and hopefully jailed for what he has done to this country. At the very least the lies he has told and the incompetence he has demonstrated should get him thown out of office. Defying the will of the people and trashing the constitution should get him jailed.

President Obama is tough on crime and national security. He knows the people want to be rid of violent crime and that the citizenry wants and needs to be protected. I am amazed at the people who think he is "soft" on crime. He has two young children of his own and I am sure he appreciates the pain of each and every parent whose child has been hurt by violent crime. No one can imagine what John Walsh felt when his 6-year-old son Adam was kidnapped and murdered. Most horrible event. President Obama is very strict when it comes to crime in this country. I trust him more than ever not to fail the Citizens of this Country.

I think it's inappropriate to call the President "Mr. Obama" throughout the article. He is the President of the United States. Whoever penned this article needs to go back and change all the "Mr. Obama" instances to "President Obama." Show some respect.

How ironic – Obama should be on America's Most Wanted as an outlaw for treason. What he is doing to this country is shameful and shredding the constitution on a daily basis. He is corrupt, a liar, and taking away our liberties. He should be charged with TREASON!!!

Obama should have been an actor instead of President. He makes sure we see his face everywhere we go, even on television programs. Sick of it.

"Lawlessness"? The citizenry protesting their tax rape by the 0'bama admin? 0'bama begins the tax rape and then he's concerned about "lawlessness"?

I sympathize with John Walsh and think he does good work. I don't know why Obama is on the progarm though. Those illinois cops whose jobs he "saved" with his stimulus???? They lost those jobs shortly thereafter. I don't understand how anyone can believe anything that comes out of Obama's mouth. All you have to do is listen to him and he will tell you what he is going to do, and none of it is good for America. He said during the campaign he was going to socialize America, turn it into France or southern Canada, and 53% of you sheeple didn't listen or pay attention. By the way, that is not the "landslide" some of you liberals are fond of saying it is.

Study Obama and Michele and read their writings, at least the ones that have not yet been sealed. They are racist, radical, socialists and espouse principles that America was not founded on. When Michele said "For the first time I am proud of my country" she was saying exactly what she meant, there was no taking out of context. People are known by thier associations. Why would you liberals not pay attention to the Obama's associations with radical terrorists? i.e. reverend wright, farrakahn, etc.

when is this guy going to stop campaigning, as he reminded McCain last week. He has done more campaigning and photo ops than any president in history. However, our economy continues to deteriorate. As suspected while he was running for president, this guy has no clue how to be a leader of anything. Can you imagine leaders in business performing like he does? He is clueless on how to drive behavior, find middle ground, analyze situations, and look at root causes. He cant even hold a press conference because he is unable to speak freely without preset agenda questions. We need a leader in this country, regardless if they are republican or democrat. Not a photo-opt community organizer. Stop campaigning and get to work.

What a joke since Obama's hometown of Chicago has the biggest crime rate ever. The liberals ask why we don't refer to him as Mr. President. Well they got their answer Obama is more of a Movie Star than a President. What sitting President has gone on this show before.
