Romney: Palin is qualified to be President

Washington (CNN) – Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, considered to be a leading candidate for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, said Friday that he thinks potential GOP rival Sarah Palin is qualified to serve as president of the United States.

Romney, in an interview to air on "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer," cited her service as a local and then state official as well as her selection as the GOP vice presidential nominee in 2008 as examples as to why she is qualified.

Blitzer, who was interviewing Romney about his new book "No Apology: The Case for American Greatness," specifically asked whether Palin is qualified to be president. "I sure do," said Romney.

He added, "She's been a mayor, she's been a governor, she's been part of a presidential campaign, she's got a lot of support."

Palin, a virtual unknown until she was chosen by Sen. John McCain to be his running mate in 2008, came under fire from critics who charged she did not have enough experience to be vice president.

Romney, who unsuccessfully sought the Republican Party nomination in 2008, was asked by Blitzer about running again for president, an idea he did not rule out.

Constitutionally speaking, so am I, but I don't know that anyone's clamoring to make me president.

WOW....I'm stunned. REALLY STUNNED. Says a lot about this dude"s judgment. He's just lost any little credibility (or none at all) he might have had with the middle of the road population.

" IGNORAMOUS I tell ya....boy...., yo as sharp as a bowlin ball."

She was the mayor of a town of 9,000. In my suburban town of 9,000, the mayor's job is part-time.

This grease head Romney must be losing his mind. Otherwise he would not be saying that Sarah Palin is qualified to be president of the USA. The day she, if ever, becomes president of this country the day before that day will be the last good day for the country. Admit it she is brainless, clueless except for her big mouth that rants meaninglessly and is not qualified to be anything of importance politically in the US. I hope that day will never come.

If that's your opinion Romney, then your as out of your mind as McCain and just as irresponsible, but then Romney is known for telling people what they want to hear, tomorrow he'll be telling others just the opposite.

She's more qualified than OBOZO ever was. She's probably more qualified than all prospects. The fact the you left wing losers do not like her and are spouting your hatred is more than enough proof.

I'm beginning to believe that Romney is more than a little touched if he thinks Palin is qualified to be president. The Republican definition of "qualified" must be synonymous with moron.

Well that statement automatically disqualifies Romney, who proves himself to be too incompetent to be president (and Bush set the bar pretty low on that one)

What an insight into Romney's judgement--if he thinks a failed governor is qualified to be President...then he by virtue of that judgement is certainly not qualified himself.....that leaves the Repugs with.....?

You Guessed it--Bobby (What me worry?) Jindal! Hah!

Linda@you qualified to vote for Obozo, so you can see there is no intelligence test for voters and Obozo proves that there isn't one for candidates and further proves there is no truth or morality tests. It's the law of the Chicago gangsta. The more you lie and the more corrupt you are having sold your soul to SEIU the more likely you are to get elected president to plunder our treasure for the scumbags.

Democrats have nothing to worry about – what used to be the republican party is now a bunch of racists and has beens.

No to the party of No in 2010 and beyond.

Oh sure, I can see it now: a Romney-Palin ticket in 2012, Pawlenty-Palin in 2016, Jindal-Palin 2020, Scott Brown-Palin in 2024, Jeb Bush-Palin in 2028. Do you see what the lowest common denominator is here? LOL.
