Romney: Palin is qualified to be President

Washington (CNN) – Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, considered to be a leading candidate for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, said Friday that he thinks potential GOP rival Sarah Palin is qualified to serve as president of the United States.

Romney, in an interview to air on "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer," cited her service as a local and then state official as well as her selection as the GOP vice presidential nominee in 2008 as examples as to why she is qualified.

Blitzer, who was interviewing Romney about his new book "No Apology: The Case for American Greatness," specifically asked whether Palin is qualified to be president. "I sure do," said Romney.

He added, "She's been a mayor, she's been a governor, she's been part of a presidential campaign, she's got a lot of support."

Palin, a virtual unknown until she was chosen by Sen. John McCain to be his running mate in 2008, came under fire from critics who charged she did not have enough experience to be vice president.

Romney, who unsuccessfully sought the Republican Party nomination in 2008, was asked by Blitzer about running again for president, an idea he did not rule out.

Sarah Palin says we don't need a law professor as President. Someone should tell this moron that 24 of our Presidents were lawyers.

Mitt claims Ms. P has a lot of support and he is right. Not enough to win the nomination or election, please god, but a lot. It is support he doesn't want to alienate. He would like Ms. P's ignorant masses to jump on his band wagon after he anialates her in the primaries.

Him saying this is the reason he'll never be President. She is a moron – plain and simple.

what is even more funny is that only 7% of Sarah's darling fans even think she is qualified to be POTUS. She'd probably quit mid-term when the "softball" interviews she's always given cease and finds out she has to talk to more reporters than the ones on FoxNews.

for him to make this comment means only that he himself is not qualified.

Yeah! OK there Mitt...........Let's see.........She was a mayor of a town smaller than most trailer parks in the lower 48...........She was a Governor of a state with a smaller population than most major cities for a grand total of HALF OF ONE TERM, and you know all about those little one term thingy's don't you there Mitt!!............Yeah, she's qualified alright........ if we're talking about a hostess position at the local chain restaurant! So take your "crash lab tested" hair and get lost Mitt, The people of the Northeast have already seen what an opportunistic, publicity chasing, pretender you really are!!!!!!!!

Thinking that Palin's qualified to be President disqualifies Romney.

Why is Obama not qualified to be our President? He has more solid work and government experience AND education than G.W. Bush and Palin.

In 1991, Obama accepted a two-year position as Visiting Law and Government Fellow at the University of Chicago Law School to work on his first book. He then served as a professor at the University of Chicago Law School for twelve years; as a Lecturer from 1992 to 1996, and as a Senior Lecturer from 1996 to 2004 teaching constitutional law.

From April to October 1992, Obama directed Illinois's Project Vote, a voter registration drive with a staff of ten and 700 volunteers; it achieved its goal of registering 150,000 of 400,000 unregistered African Americans in the state, and led to Crain's Chicago Business naming Obama to its 1993 list of "40 under Forty" powers to be.

In 1993 he joined Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland, a 13-attorney law firm specializing in civil rights litigation and neighborhood economic development, where he was an associate for three years from 1993 to 1996, then of counsel from 1996 to 2004

To Kevin in Ohio and other republicans. President Obama was a community organizer, civil rights attoney, law professor at Harvard and senator before becoming 44th President of the U.S.

Could this mean that Romney will tap Palin to be his running mate? That's fine with me, that will assure Obama 2nd term. McCain lost the election in part because he choose an unqualifed running mate, now Romney may do the same thing because it workd so well for McCain? GOPers have short memories indeed!

Romney just demonstrated a startling lack of judgement that ought to be enough to derail his ambitions for 2012.

    Mitt just declared himself unqualified.

Also he showed his true ability to suck-up to the extreme right wing – always a prized quality for any Republic candidate for President.

Seriously Mitt? If he believes that, people will never again consider Mitt a potential candidate himself. McCain exhibited asinine judgment when he tapped Palin for VP, Romney is following in his steps.

Until this comment by Romney I thought that he was a fairly sound guy and had a good chance of being the 2012 Rep. candidate.

Anyone who can publicly state that they view Sarah Palin as qualified to be POTUS has a serious problem with either thier honesty or judgement or both!!

Any thinking person who saw Palins interview with Katie Couric and more recently with Chris Wallace and thinks she's qualified to hold national office must be in a different universe!!
