Music power couple Beyonce & Jay-Z got inside White House tour

Washington (CNN) - Megastars Beyonce and Jay-Z, accompanied by a small group of friends, visited the White House on Wednesday for a special tour that included the White House Situation Room, White House aides confirmed.

A photo, apparently taken of the group in the Situation Room, was released on the Web site Rap Radar. The photo shows Jay-Z sitting at the head of the table, the seat normally occupied by the president. He is surrounded by his wife, Beyonce, and others in his entourage.

White House tours for the public normally do not include a stop inside the Situation Room. When occupied by the president and his national security team, the room is typically used to mobilize the administration during a crisis situation and communicate to officials around the world. But one White House aide said special visitors occasionally get access to the Situation Room.

"It's not like there's classified information laying around," the aide said. "It's really just a conference room."

Last December, the White House posted a virtual tour of the Situation Room, touting it as "an exclusive look inside one of the most secure spaces in the country."

White House aides confirmed that Jay-Z and Beyonce stopped by before Jay-Z's concert Wednesday night at Washington's Verizon Center.

Sitting in Daddy's chair", that's all that is.

    I'm sure Jay-Z knows he's a moron by comparision.
ie: He'll stick with his hollywood ....and thank the Lord everyday we have Obama for president and not "prez..palin" (wink, wink ).

Obama is a one term president. I voted for him, I argued that he was the better and smarter choice (not too tough to be smarter than Palin, she's an embarrassment to any level of society, and McCain was just too old to convince me) and I believed that he was going to help turn our country around. However, he hasn't done anything of note except increase our debt and make empty, typical politician promises. Of course he's enjoying his fame with all his meetings with celebrities who honestly don't care that much about society, only their paychecks and their jewelry, and being seen. He makes a great president for TV stations like TMZ, that's it so far. Hate to say it, but I am extremely disappointed with this presidency and although I am not a Republican I don't see myself voting for Obama if he runs again. Absolutely empty, non-productive presidency so far, fighting all the wrong battles, going about it the wrong way, while the USA falls deeper into the abyss. Anyone ever read about how Rome declined and became just a memory? Well that's happening right outside your door now, and inside as well. And it sucks to see this taking place. I hope a strong leader emerges in the next couple years, because this country needs someone with a spine, and a pair.

Are you guys serious? Why are you mad at this. I'd rather Jay and Beyonce in the situation room than Dick Cheney.

Jay-Z – no talent and a clown! Thinks being a "real" is selling drugs.
Beyonchickii – great voice. Songs are TERRIBLE!
No one will remember either of them in twenty years.
Don't listen to either of them. They are banned in my house. I don't let my daughter listen to them.
Don't care that they visited the White House!
    "more perks for the wealthy"
    "out of touch with America"
Just goes to show that brains don't come standard with people!

    @Roy Carter,

Agreed. This is no "Elvis" photo. But then... do we really have anyone of of Elvis' stature in music nowadays? Obama is limited by what is available...

Oh, for Pete sakes. Some of you people act as if President Obama is the only one to have visitors in the White House. Who are you all to say who he has to visit. You may not like Jay-Z or Beyonce but they are Americans and they pay taxes and they were given that opportunity. And for those jealous among us there have been stories of visitors coming into the White House and being given special tours or the opportunity to see something special. President Obama has opened up the White House way more than Bush ever did. Some of you people aren't happy unless you can find a way, any way to criticize the President.

michael: Could this white house do anything more to alienate middle-America?
    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And can people like you do more in alienating the rest of America? You Republicans/conservatives/right wing/Obama haters have been doing a great job alienating America with your hatred and vilifying the duly elected President of the United States. . You seem to ignore the fact that the majority of Americans voted for Barack Obama for President.

@RAF – sorry pal, those aren't ROLE MODELS!! A rapper who used to deal drugs and got rich rapping about it is a ROLE MODEL??? No, he's just another guy who got rich because people bought his beats. BIG DIFFERENCE. But the fact that you think he's a role model is a great example of how cheesy and shallow our society has become. Beyonce? If she was ugly do you think she'd be so successful, and so "influential" to people like you who think she's a role model?? She's successful because she has a pretty face and a big butt that guys want a piece of, and girls try to emulate that. That's the real simple truth. That's how deep it goes. ROLE MODELS are people who put others before themselves and try to make a difference regardless of if they have millions of $ or not. Not people who all of a sudden want to make a difference because they are in the public eye. Was Jay-Z a role model when he was committing crimes and selling drugs? Was he for you? Stop spewing ignorance and take the time to discover what a real ROLE MODEL is. Those people don't tend to be on the news so you might have to get off the couch to find them.

The problem here with those that have a problem with this is the fact that the group is African American. Every President has had groups come in and do all types of tours, some have even given friends famous bedrooms to stay over night As far as some of you are concerned you will not be happy unless the rest of us go back to Africa and start picking cotton again. Everytime I read your vile and racist remarks and the back door antics of certain public officials I am reminded that racism is alive and well in America.

You just can not get over it that the President can chew gum and walk at the same time. You are so caught up in your own biggotry you haven't stop to look around you to see the scenary is changing.

On second thought, by posting it on his web sit, Jay=Z shows he really isn't that cool. He also needs to think has he done his hero, President Obama, any harm by doing so.

Trying to show some intellect, JayZ discounted reports he voted for Obama because of skin color, saying "Everyone knows I voted for Barak because of his views on NAFTA".

    When entertainment meets reality:
Can I visit the situation room too? I can advise on world crises and fast solutions to every national security problem.
    ahhh?.. I cannot!!! Why?
Ah ok, I see, it is reserved for celebrities now: from the President all the way down to singers and dancers!
Oh well! I need to change career.

No surprise here, a pop star lives in the White House. Sure wish we had a President that was more fiscally aware than culturally aware.

Darrell and the rest who are upset that we are "tearing down" our President. I agree with you that people are over reacting and making rude, insensitive and basically useless comments about President Obama. However, where were you when people were doing the same thing to President Bush? Now that the shoe is on the other foot, it seems that those nay sayers and Bush haters can not stand it happening to Obama. We Americans have watched this political b.s. and backstabbing that politicians and political parties do so long now, that it has become "our" way of life and we act the same way.

Rushine, as for your comment...well it just goes to show that ignorance and racial stereotyping are still alive in America. Why don't you and your hate filled kind crawl under a rock and just die?

    Nate...I agree with you 100 % . Well said!!!

Zuq.....What are you talking about? This article had nothing to do with Sarah Palin, so why bring it up? I guess it is just your way of following party lines and trash a potential political opponent every chance you get.

Everyone else.... EVERY single President has allowed stuff like this to happen. EVERY President from BOTH political parties. Don't single one out if your not willing to call each one to task.

CSpurgeon....I did not read anywhere in the article that the President was there meeting JayZ. So how is he basking in the celebrity life? Where did you get this info from? I guess your just being like Zuq and bashing someone who is a opponent to your political party. Does not matter if there is truth to what you say or not.
