Comic book series to feature Franken

Sen. Al Franken will appear in an upcoming comic book.
Sen. Al Franken will appear in an upcoming comic book.

Washington (CNN) - It's a bird, it's a plane, it's Senator Al Franken.

While Sen. Scott Brown, R-Massachusetts, might be able to brag about being featured in "Cosmopolitan" magazine, it is his Minnesota colleague who is getting his own comic book.

Franken, the comedian-turned- liberal radio host-turned U.S. senator, will be featured in an upcoming 22-page color spread as part of the "Political Power" series published by Bluewater Productions.

"We want to tell stories about people who are not the Barack Obama's of the world and Sen. Franken isn't someone people would expect us to cover," publisher Darren Davis said in an interview with CNN. Davis said the May issue of the series will "show his early life as a comedian to modern day. "I don't think anyone knows Sen. Franken co-wrote the movie "When a Man Loves a Woman," said Davis, referring to the 1994 dramatic film starring Andy Garcia and Meg Ryan.

As for Franken, a spokesman said the Democratic senator is "looking forward to reading the comic."

The current issue features George W.Bush.

Al Franken is great. Remember the Hollywood clown the Repubs worshipped – Ronnie Raygun (Regan)? Regan cut millions of Veterans funding and put them on the street – under briges, etc. Franken has been to Iraq many times to support our troops. Franken is way above the intellectual level of past and present Repubs, and of course they loath smart people, especially if they think for themselves- which Franken clearly does.
We need Franken and all Dems to keep sticking it to the neo-clowns.

I like this guy. Even though he has made a name for himself, he does not let it go to his head. He has his feet truly rooted in his upbringing and does not let fame make him "crazy" like others. It would be nice if us humans kept in touch with where they came from and who they really are. Sam

Love the right wing righteous who are only in it for their finacial gain claiming Dems give away their money. All you possers writting on these posts – none of you are in the top 3% who got the Bush tax subsidies. They hire people to do it for them. Bunch of simple-minded lackies so easily sucked up by neo-con propoganda. Amazing you don't drown when it rains.

LIP: I believe that Al Franken has been a surprise to everyone, including his rivals. Senator Franken is doing a good job, keeping a relatively low profile and earning his wings. Give him some space and he just may make a good Senator that truly works to everyone's benefit and not just the same old party line.

Unlike Scott Brown who thinks he's a rock star. He believes all the hype. He's running around like the great white hope and hasn't even done anything. Meanwhile, the Republicans/conservatives/right wing/Obama haters keep demonizing people who are trying to help our country.

    Excuse me, Henry Miller, Libertarian

Just where does the article mention anything about money? Are you one of those people who likes to change the subject just to [try to] manipulate people and get them irritated? That's why we have aggressive people driving. They what ATTENTION. Do you not get enough in your home/do you work?, life? People who cannot remain civil, make me sick to my stomach. Such a pathetic life. I do not care if you are white/black, male/female. repub/demo, straight/gay...etc. We should all TRY to be civil to others. Sam

Somehow Frankenstien doesn't sound like a very good comic book, but then all demon-craps are pretty much just jokes!

Yes! yes! Franken stole the election, but, like the ole saying "what goes around comes back around. If Franken had any sense he certainly would not be a "suck up" for Obama, these kind of people are the ones who crawl from under the rock the live under, who knows they may have shared the same big ole rock with the black radical aka Hussein Obama, this administration is more than evil, they are down right evil spirited. At least the administration has some laughter in their lives, watch them pull the puppet strings on Reid, Pelosi and
Emanuel, talk about a circus act, that is the biggest act under the Big tent, but somewhere in that same tent sits the goofiest one of all, that would be Biden, I still worry about his (Biden) brain surgery, it must have have been a LOBOTOMY.......Betty

Franken is another Dem nightmare who grabbed power by Chicago-style strong-armed banana republic tactics rather than the ballot box. The clock is ticking on him, just can't get there soon enough for most Americans!

Go away and take Rahm-bicile with you...
