(CNN) - Florida Senate hopeful Marco Rubio never charged a back wax to his Republican Party of Florida credit card, his campaign spokesman told CNN Tuesday, rebutting Gov. Charlie Crist's curious allegation about his Republican primary rival's grooming habits.
So what exactly did Rubio put on his tab during his $134 visit to an upscale Miami salon when he was Florida House speaker?
Rubio's spokesman Alex Burgos has the details:
"Marco paid $20 for a haircut with a razor on the neck, and he bought some items that went into a silent auction, including gift certificates," he said.
Burgos said the salon in question, Churchill's Barber Shop, sells "travel kits and other gift sets that people usually buy around the holidays as gifts."
After details leaked last month about thousands of dollars worth of questionable charges on his party-issued credit card, Rubio said he paid off the personal charges – including his salon visit – with his own money.
As for the back wax claim: "Charlie Crist's obsession with making up things about other people's grooming habits is bizarre for anyone, especially the sitting governor of Florida," Burgos said.
"It's also a shame he cares more about what's in Marco's personal bills than what's in the stimulus bill he supported."

Does it drive anyone else crazy that Rubio is hitting Crist over his support of the stimulus bill? Almost any economist you talk to will tell you the stimulus is having a good impact on the economy. You can google the information if you don't know what I'm talking about. And does it drive anyone else crazy that all Republicans do is bend the truth and lie and yet they're still a viable party in this country? I just don't get it.
Rubio is just another right wing prostitician. Right Wingers are such hypocrites. At least John Edwards used his own money.

what could be more fun than watching two Republicans go at each an try to tear each other down? At the moment not too much that I can thnk of and it's going to get even MORE fun when these guys throw their hats in the ring in 2012 seeking the GOP nomination. You think they are all nicey kissy with Sarah Palin right now? They won't be in 2012 if she tries for the GOP nomination and the other hopefuls are after it too. It'll be Clinton/Obama all over again.

However Rubio is involved in the Sansom scandal in Florida. Rubio says Sansom, who was indicted for routing $35 million dollars to a Florida college... without permission. Rubio maintains that Sansom "is one of the best people I have ever interacted with in the legislative process" ... after personally selecting Sansom as the person responsible for the state budget when Rubio was the speaker.
Slimy? Corrupt? Not a good judge of character? Not paying attention to details? None of the above is a recommendation for an elected official!
Republicans in Florida need to wise up about this guy Rubio. They don't know him and letting the crazies in the tea party could lead to the first time in years where the Florida Sneate seats both go to democrats.
Back waxing, whether charged to the Party or paid for with personal funds, should disqualify any Republican from a GOP primary. God made body hair and God makes beautiful things. To remove one's body hair thru wax clearly shows hatred for God's creation. If Rubio hates God that much, who knows what he would do once in the Senate. We need a Christian Party in this country as God-fearing evangelicals like myself have no one to represent us - and ban those salons and jail those eveil persons who remove body hair. God said so.
