More Democrats come out against health care bill

,

Washington (CNN) - As House Democratic leaders advised their members Friday to prepare for a legislative battle over health care that could stretch through next weekend, four additional rank-and-file Democrats have come out against the Obama administration's signature domestic priority.

Reps. Ben Chandler of Kentucky, Luiz Gutierrez of Illinois, Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin of South Dakota and Heath Shuler of North Carolina say they will vote against their party's health care plan, which may be headed to a final vote late next week.

"At this time, I am a 'no' vote on health care," said Gutierrez in a written statement. "It's no secret that I have been critical of proposals that would exclude our nation's hardworking immigrants from the health care exchange, and I would find it extremely difficult, if not impossible, to vote for any measure that denies undocumented workers health care purchased with their own dollars."

According to an ongoing CNN survey, 21 House Democrats have now indicated they will vote against the Senate bill when it comes to the floor, though six of those members say they would consider voting for it if it were significantly modified. Opponents of the bill need a total of 38 Democrats to vote against the measure to ensure its defeat, assuming that all Republican members remain unified in their opposition.

The only way anyone could support ObamaCare is if they support Socialism. So if you call yourself a Democrat - the kind my grandmother voted for her whole life - your only option should be a "No" vote.

Otherwise the American people will lump you in with the likes of Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and all the liberals who are trying to dismantle our Republic and take away our freedom and liberty.

    Vote NObamaCare!

I hope that the Democrats whose votes are in question will not be stupid enough to commit political suicide by trying to build a monument to Obama's presidency and the deluded Pelosi's reign.

Come election time the democrats should find suitable people to replace these people and vote them out, shuler is a repug in sheep clothing how he got elected is beyond me and he is no better at this than he was at football.Stupak is a joke and if gutierrez wants illegal immigrents to have health ins. then let them become legal like the rest of the people who have come here.It is no secret that illegals have run up health care in arizona and california and a few other states.also overrun the schools systems.

Vote all these clowns out! All these senates won't cast vote unless "I get my pork in". Companies that brought undocument workers into America, they should pay for their health insurance. Americans are being held hostage for reforming healthcare when you got these senators bringing division. What I've just read, just deport these illegals!

If they think they are going to save their jobs by voting against this bill they are wrong. They will lose either way, the republicans won't vote for them no matter what they do and the independents and democrats will stay home if they fail on this point. Why do they think we elected them in the first place. If they can't deliver than what difference does it make which party is in control?

Amazing how one issue can hold someone from passing such an important bill. The Dems are sounding like Repubs.

GET RID OF THEM ALL. We should ALL become the "party of no". Meaning: Vote "no" (against) every incumbent in the next election.

It's hard to believe that any Democrat in this stage of the game would hold out on the health care plan due to the exclusion of immigrants. We have millions of citizens old and young, entire families born in this country who are not covered. Families who have been here for generations are fighting to keep their heads above water and now we're withholding progress because of non citizens? This is insanity.I would like to see the names of these holdouts so we can vote them out next time.

I am against this Health Care Garbage,,,,, BUT, I disagree with Gutierrez. Number one, these undocumented workers are NOT going to spend thier own money on Health Care. Why should they? They know full well they will get free care somewhere in this country.
Second, they should be shipped HOME to where they came from. this country needs jobs !!!!!!!! And she would rather have some undocumented worker taking money from a USA born blue collar person. Ohhh, your goign to say the USA worker will not do the dirty job. They will when they get hungry enough. THAT my people is the problem. People EXPECT tro be given high dollar Union paying jobs anymore. Bull, get your butt out there and WORK for a living. Pick crops, work in the fields, work in the meat pakcing plants etc etc etc. If more USA workers would lower themselves to do a dirty job, then the wages would sooner or later go up. But as long as they allow other to take thier jobs away,,, they will.

This is why the democrats always wind up being the minority party. Everyone has to get their grubby hands in the pot and ruin the soup. So be it let the Democrats wind up out in the cold and no democrat will get anything into the health bill. They can all try and create big lies come next election why they all went in different dirrections rather than working together.

Its all a corrupt act by the Democrats. They are just holding out to get tens of billions more in special deals like the Louisiana Purchase, the Cornhusker Kickback, and the $60 billion union payoff. They will end up voting for Obama's massive corrupt disaster for healthcare and our economy once they get their corrupt deals. In Nov voters need to remember the arrogance, contempt, and corruption and kick out every Democrat from the swamp they've created of the Capital!!!

This is a perfect example of an expression i just heard the other day about the perfect being the enemy of the good. this bill is far from perfect, but it is light years better for the country and the people than what is coming down the pike if we keep the status quo. the Democrats need to come together and put their personal demands aside for the common good and get this bill passed! and to the whiny children complaining that this bill is being 'shoved down their throats,' well, when you were sick when you were a kid i bet your mom had to shove some medicine down your throat to make you better. when people understand what's in the bill instead of just buying the lying rhetoric coming from the republican'ts, insurance companies, and chamber of commerce, they are for it. every journey begins with a single step, and this is a good first step. it's time for the Democrats to prove they're on the side of the American people and get this done!

Abramoff, gave as much to the Democrats to buy votes as he did to Republicans. Hillary even got some of his money. So how can the Dimocrats feature him in their campaign to smear Republicans,as being any more corrupt than they are?.....I don't blame the house for not trusting the Senate to keep their word, and make changes they do not agree with? If only the House would just cowdown and let the Senate run the country.

Well, that's one thing I can say about Republicans. They come togather and stick togather. That's why they got things done when Bush was in office. I'm a Democrat, but Democrats do not know how to stick togather, thats why they can't get anything done. The health care bill should have been passed four months ago.

Good – This bill STINKS, and the Democrats are starting to admit it. When their vote fails, and they tank in this fall's elections they'll be ready to enage in a bipartisan dialogue on health care reform – the way it needs to be done. Not a progressive power grab.......but a reform that introduces REAL competitiona and reduces costs – not inflating the deficit with the hidden costs this entitlement program would force down our throats!
