Boccieri switches to yes

Washington (CNN) - Rep. John Boccieri, D-Ohio, announced Friday he is switching his vote to "yes" on the health care reform bill which is expected to come to a vote Sunday. The Ohio lawmaker previously voted against the House version of the health care reform bill late last year.

Boccieri announced his decision to support the bill at a Capitol Hill news conference surrounded by constituents who have been adversely affected by the current health care system.

"When I think…what could happen to those 39,000 people in my congressional district who don't have health care insurance, or the 9,800 people in my congressional district who are living with pre-existing conditions," Boccieri said, "they are one medical emergency, one bankruptcy, one diagnosis away from complete and utter economic chaos."

The Ohio Democrat has been targeted in television ads by health care proponents pressuring him to switch his vote. He is the first Democrat to represent Ohio's 16th congressional district in close to 60 years.

Well isn't that a news worthy revelation considering he's a democrat ! The only hope to save this country is for November to get here quickly! Considering they will relinquish power when voted out!

I think they now have the votes. This is really sad. I hope voters who were against this bill don't forget this in november. I want the federal government to stay out of my pocket. It takes enough money form me.

The Radical Liberals in Congress are Disgusting and Spineless. They will be lucky to make it to the November midterms without being physically removed from office be revolution. If they are luck enough to make it to November I hope for their sakes they have money saved in the bank. They will need it to survuve their new status of unemployed. They will be voted out of office and thrown back in the swamp they slithered out from. As far as our Radical anti American Socialist and chief, he is an absolute one and done. He will be extremely lucky to even make it to 2012 without being impeached or just physically thrown out of office. This administration is an embarrassment and disgrace to this country.

Obama and the progressive Dems are certain to eventually get the votes they need to pass Obamacare. Then you can add Obamacare to the list of bills Obama and the progressive Dems have passed that are opposed by a majority of voters including the stimulus and auto bailouts, the House cap and trade bill and the last Obama budget.
In fact it was the CBO scoring of the last Obama budget that was the last straw for many voters and provided the spark for the Tea Party movement. Voters already upset over TARP and the stimulus were pushed to action when the saw the CBO score project average deficits pushing a trillion a year for the next ten years.
After Obama is done with Obamacare, he will push Congress to pass his new 3.8 trillion budget which includes 300 billion in new spending increases over last year and a CBO score of average annual deficits of 980 billion a year with 1 trillion in 2018, 1.15 trillion in 2019 and 1.25 trillion in 2020. When Obama and Congress tries to pass this a majority of voters are going to go balistic. Obama's 3.8 trillion budget is a full 600 billion more than Bush's last budget of 3.2 trillion. Obama will lie and tell voters the deficits are all the fault of failed Bush policies, but voters will not believe them when there is 600 billion of new Obama only spending in the budget. Obama may want to wait until next year for his deficit reduction commisson to present their recomendations. Voters will not. In fact a majority of voters will not be willing to leave control of the nations check book and credit card in the hands of Obama and the Democrats beyond the November election if bills are not passed before than to cut hundreds of billons from the average annual deficit projections. The 10 billion a year deficit reductions from Obamacare does not even come close.

    A few interesting facts.
Biden is on video saying reconciliation was an out rage and when Democrats regain power they should never stoop to that level.
Obama is on video saying that you can't pass something like health care reform on 51 votes, he says you can't govern if you do that. That must have been back when he had a filibuster proof super majority and assumed a majority of voters would support Obamacare. But a majority of voters are opposed to Obamacare which lead to the Brown win in Mass. and removed the filibuster proof majority in the Senate. So now 51 votes are just fine with Obama.
The last 5 polls on Obamacare dating back to 3/14 all continue to show a majority of voters are opposed to Obamacare with a composite average of 51% opposed and 39% for.
When the Republicans used reconciliation to pass welfare reform and the Bush tax cuts Democrats were opposed and threatened to filibuster. A majority of voters SUPPORTED both those measures.
Democrats are going to use reconciliation to pass Obamacare. Republicans are opposed and would use a filibuster to block it. A majority of voters are OPPOSED to Obamacare, a major difference from the instances when Republicans used reconciliation.
In Obama's interview on FOX NEWS he was asked if the bill would be posted long enough for voters to know what is in it. Obama said health care reform has been talked about so much by now that everyone knows what is in it. HUH? I thought the argument coming out of the White House and from Pelosi is the reason a majority of voters are opposed to Obamacare is because they just don't know what is in it. In fact Pelosi said the voters won't know what is in it until it is passed. This is all spin that will truly make your head spin.

Finally, we will have Health Care Reform. For a second there I thought the Party of No = GOP had American fooled. But again, we proved that we elected Pres. Obama and his leadership.

Face facts; there have been enough back room deals and arm twisting to get this thing through. Say goodbye to your insurance because it will be cheaper for employers to pay the fine than provide insurance. Oh and I hope everyone enjoys their tax dollars being used to fund abortion. Yes we can murder babies with tax payer money, and yes we can bankrupt our country so our children live in a third world country, but that's what the average liberal wants!

How refreshing: a representative that votes for his constituents instead of dancing on the strings of the insurance lobby.
Here's one to vote for in November; that is, unless the insurance industry sends their hit men for him.

If the democrats can't support President Obama on Health Care, kick them out – all of them. I voted for change and for health care. I would like all the labor unions to ban together and work against all democrats who vote against health care. This is not fair to the American people. Abortion is just an excuse, most of the dems voting against and using that as justification are lying – they don't want to lose their seat, but they will anyway. I hope you can tell I am MAD! We need health care and we need it now!

WHY is Boccieri NOT LISTENING to the American people??? know, the fringe who scream and yell at town meetings about a bill they know nothing about except what they're lied to about by Rush and FOX.

The ones who lost the last election.

Hehe...I love it. Let the crazytalk begin! You GOPers do realize that you're not supposed to stand too near a microwave while wearing your tinfoil hats, don't you? I know it's hard with the fascinating spinning plate going round and round ever so slowly, but it's for your own good. Not only will it scramble your brains but it will ruin your direct reception of the daily Limbaugh talking points, which is unacceptable, because you should be regurgitating his lies without mistakes...not garbling them like you do here.

Many people try to hang a guilt trip on those opposed to this bill, saying it is the morally correct thing to do. What about the morality of someone that works hard keeping what he worked for instead of being mandated and taxed to give it to someone else? For those who think it such a morally wonderful thing to do, please pat yourself on the back and pay for me.

A much better bill could be written to get health care to the people who need it. A majority of voters are opposed to this terrible bill and have been asking for over half a year to kill it and write a better one. Looks like voters are going to have to vote Republicans back into power to clean up this mess and save our nation from going bankrupt.
