(CNN) - Rep. Joe Courtney, the Connecticut Democrat who had been undecided on how he would vote on the latest version of the House health care bill, announced on CNN Friday he will support the bill.
"We've spent the last 24 hours reviewing the package, which was finally released yesterday afternoon as well as the [Congressional Budget Office's] score," Courtney told CNN's Ali Velshi, "and I'm satisfied that there are adequate changes made to the Senate bill, the base bill, that address the issues that kept me in the undeclared column."
Courtney voted in favor of the original House bill late last year.

Keep those votes coming!
The hills are alive...
...with the sounds of "YES" votes for health care reform!
he wil probably hang on 2 win he's from a dem leaning seat. the guy from ohio wil probably lose.but i think he dont care about that as long as he do the right thing
I'm right there with you let's do this.
GO ahead and pass it. It is an unconstitutional bill and will be revoked by the Supreme Court before it is enacted. It's the great part about the Supreme Court not having to rely on votes or seeing if Pelosi will try to ruin their careers. They can truly see the bill for what it is, a corrupt piece of crap.
For those who want real HC reform, scrap this bill and start fresh and without any special deals. We can do this the right way. The American people deserve it.
It sounds like the fence sitters are moving into the Yes column. Democrats may as well vote for the bill. It's the right thing to do, first of all. Secondly, Conservatives will hate them whether they vote for it or not, so they're not losing any votes.
We should be braced for spluttering rage from the Conservative leadership and the Conservobots who think and speak as their masters command.
No surprise – if you keep running the clock until you finally get a lead, and can declare the game over whenever you want, eventually you'll win. These guys are idiots, and they've absolutely no idea how hard its going to come down on them. Anyone who uses the CBO scoring as justification for voting yes is just full of crap. The numbers are calculated based on fairy tale assumptions that will never, never actually happen. This 'reform' will cost trillions of $$$. Half of the 1st 10 years 'deficit reduction' comes from the revamp of the student loan program, which has absolutely nothing to do with health care. Why didn't they just include proceeds from the sale of lottery tickets?
AMEN. all good christians thank you....its about time!
What a bunch of "see through sad comedians"!
Really?
Which changes would those be, Congressman?
Mr. Courtney, you apparently know something that Mr. Obama doesn't, and couldn't answer in his latest Fox News interview with Bret Baier.
So, tell us, what changes are you referring to in this bill that no one, not even our president, have seen?
Hey Courtney, once you deem and pass the Senate Bill...there is NO sure thing that the "fixes" will even need to be discussed. Personally you are another low intelligence, corrupt poitician that needs to get booted.
Thank you Representative Courtney! The American people need health care reform.
I do get difficulties to understand these congressmen and women why they do not get it.
Fighting war especially in Afghanistan is about protecting American people from being attacked and die (protect life). And Health Reform is also protecting people from dying.
Why do some support the first option and not the latter!!!!
He's aprogressive who hate America so yes he will bow to Nancy.
Go Joe, that's the right thing to do. My car has a better insurance than my health and it's mandatory too.
Courtney is another Democrat vote that counts, forget about that Cuellar guy, we don't need him now or in the future.
Great. Another idiot.
Vote NO or you will go!
Glad to see intelligent members of Congress take time to read the bill, understand it, and can ACCURATELY speak about what IS and IS NOT in it.
The 72 hour review period is ample time for any professional legislator to digest the changes in the bill since it was 1st released many months ago. The no one can rightfully claim they haven't had time to read the bill.
The Democrats would be smart to have a "Blue Team" [a group chartered with thinking like the opposition ... in this case the Republicans] going through that bill to prepare their counter move to the legal, legislative and propogandist objections likely from the other side.
I listened to his reasoning and I must say it is very encouraging to hear a representative that is weighing the impacts of this bill on the people, not the insurance companies, not just the budget, not just the deficit, but the American people. Such a lucid explanation. You can appreciate how novel that is for me since Eric Cantor is supposed to be my representative and all he and his cronies know how to say is "Defeat this bill!"
Yes! Unlike Boehner trying to "kill" coverage (ad nauseum), Congressman Courtney is standing up for Americans' health care. Thank you!!
This bill sucks. Unions get off without paying crap and the rest of us have to foot the bill. Plus they dont mention the doctor fix that has to be added to this bill. Here is a thought. Work on creating private sector jobs (not government). That should of been top priority but we have to give the handouts. WHY WORK. no need to after this passes. Then i can get money from the government and insurance plus get a tax refund(even if i dont pay taxes). Sleep all day, Watch my flatscreen and talk on my cell phone and get paid.
Dave of Maryland..... Eat Crow! Lick your wounds! The PEOPLE will have their way and that means YOU loose!
He forgot to mention a few offshore accounts that swelled in size over the last 24hours.
... and Peter DeFazio (Oregon) has changed his vote to NO. Check it out on other websites. Don't know why it is not being reported here.
