Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama will sign a landmark $875 billion health care reform bill into law at the White House on Tuesday, according to two Democratic officials familiar with the planning.
The bill passed the House of Representatives late Sunday night. It was approved by the Senate in December.
A separate package of changes passed by the House on Sunday still needs to be approved by the Senate. The officials noted that the Senate cannot begin debate on the package before Obama signs the underlying bill into law.

Now the lines are drawn in the sand, and the line will get even clearer in the next few months.
We have our buckets and our little pails, and we are going to dig in... and bury this abysmal legislation, you gotta love these people, they
will not be denied a chance to remake this country.
The best advice we conservatives can give to them, is to stay the hell off our beach!!!
You can quote me on this: neener neener NEENER.
Hows that Waterloo thing working out for you Jim Demint?Looks more like your Gettysburg revisited to me.hahahaDeMints big mouth made me a believer and back the President even more.hahaha
I am so proud of the House Democrats that voted to pass the Health Care Bill. Unfortunately, my Republican Congressman voted against it. He is one of the congressmen that lived in housing subsidised by The Family. How could he take cut rate housing and deny other Americans help with health care?
In the face of strong bipartisan opposition, the tyrannical majority party of Congress passed this bill over the objections of the vast majority of the American voters. There is NOTHING in this government expanded takeover to provide greater or lower cost health CARE, just a "spread the wealth around" to provide health INSURANCE (not health CARE - you can't do that without more doctors, nurses and hospitals) to a small minority that either could not or would not buy it. The requirement by Congress for every citizen to purchase private health insurance simply for being a citizen of the United States is an unconstitutional overreach of Congress's powers that cannot and will not survive a legal challenge. President Obama, Senator Reid and Speaker Pelosi have wasted a year of the American public's time is a corrupt, divise, partisan power grab that has done nothing to promote the general welfare of the nation. This is a very sad day for America.
DeMint, this is your Waterloo and it looks like you get to play Napoleon. Shame on the GOP for putting politics and party before the interest of he American people. You are on the wrong side, morally on this issue and on the wrong side of history. In November you will be on the outside looking in.
Congratulations liberals, you've just sentenced millions to suffer the woes of forced Medicare. Already unfunded and destined to fail, this should prove interesting in the upcoming elections.
Commrade Obama. You can't have my money to pay for your crap give-a-way programs.
Since 2004, I have been working on raising awareness that over 44 million Americans were uninsured or underinsured, through the Robert Wood Johnson Cover the Uninsured campaign.
For me, last night was like having a great weight lifted off my heart, because millions of Americans will finally get access to health insurance.
History has been made. Insurance companies will be barred from dropping people from coverage when they get sick. Young adults will be able to stay on their parents' health plans until the age of 26. Health plans no longer can exclude people from coverage due to pre-existing conditions. Medicare beneficiaries will be able to get a free annual wellness visit and personalized prevention plan service. Best of all, insurance companies can no longer raise premiums at their leisure.
Yes, I know that there will be a lot of mumbling and grumbling because the bill passed, especially by uninformed citizens and Republicans. But if Americans really took a close look at Republicans they will see that there’s no doubt that the Republicans support universal health care. The Bush administration endorsed and even funded universal health insurance. The only thing is, Bush’s universal health insurance program is for the people of Iraq, not for Americans.
Through Operation Enduring Freedom and Article 31 of the Iraqi Constitution (written by the Bush administration), billions of American dollars have been spent to guarantee every citizen of Iraq state-funded health care. These funds could have provided sufficient health care right here in America.
Why is Iraq’s universal health care being paid for with American dollars? Why is it that every other industrialized nation in the world has a universal health system except the United States? Why is it the majority of bankruptcies in this country are due to health care costs? These are the questions that Americans (especially the tea party) should be asking. Republicans voted to put funds toward the Iraq war but they oppose providing health care as a civil right to Americans, there can be no greater hypocrisy.
Democrats, I thank you for being strong, I thank you for focusing on the health and well being of Americans, I thank you for leaving the Republicans in the dust, and I thank you for getting the health reform bill passed. Job well done! You get my vote!
I LOVE YOU OBAMA!!!
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH FOR DOING THE RIGHT THING!
THANK YOU DEMS FOR STANDING STRONG!!!
I will work and donate for your campaigns!!
This is not a government take over, this is about everyone paying for their own healthcare and living a better system for the generations to come. Healthier ppl = less government spending on healthcare = deficit reduction.
It amazes me when people have what they want they never complain nor do they assist anyone else. I find it hard to beleive that the country struggles with if we should be healthier or not. There are no perfect situations and evry thing is not going to fit evryone's taste but something is better than nothing. Rich people give poor people a chance or are you afraid you may be denied what you have been denying others for years?
