White House shrugs off Biden F-Bomb

Washington (CNN) - In the White House room where Abigail Adams used to air out her clean laundry, Vice President Joe Biden used some dirty language.

A microphone picked up Biden uttering the "F" word Tuesday in the majestic East Room of the White House, as President Obama signed the historic health care reform bill into law.

After delivering a rousing introduction of the president in which he praised Obama's "perseverance" and "clarity of purpose," Biden turned to embrace his boss.

As the crowd of approximately 300 people cheered wildly, Biden turned to Obama and said with a big smile, "This is a big f-- deal!"

The president did not react to the comment, apparently aware that the microphones may have picked up the words.

Shortly after the ceremony, White House Press Secretary used his Twitter feed to try and diffuse any controversy.

"And yes Mr. Vice President, you're right..." Gibbs tweeted from his @PressSec Twitter account.

An aide to the vice president pointed reporters seeking comment to Gibb's tweet.

The vice president is known for unscripted moments, but not in such a high-profile setting as a bill-signing ceremony in the East Room. According to the White House Historical Association, first lady Abigail Adams was famous for using the room to dry her laundry. President John F. Kennedy lay in state in the East Room after his assassination in 1963.

Is it a requirement that presidential hopefuls pick the biggest idiot they can find? Once in office then the president elect can perhaps look good in contrast to the 80-IQ bonehead at their side? Dumb-ass V.P.

Once in a life time I used that word when I was extremely happy. People make mistake when they are very happy or when they are very unhappy. I guess this thing should be taken into context and Joe should be forgiven for that.

This isn't the first time Biden has shown what a classless low life he is. During the campaign he said it was everyone's responsibility to help those in need and when he released his tax returns for 10 years it turned out he had given less than $400 a year to charities for those 10 years. And let's not forget his infamous "Follow me to Afghanistan and I'll show you where Bin Laden is, I was there!" Biden is not only a liar but a total embarassment to the country. January 20, 2013 will be his and Obama's last day in office, anyone with a pulse would be better than these two clowns

It was a benign F-bomb, not like Cheney's "Go F yourself" to a Senator F-bomb.

Joe Biden isn't worth my time...however I'm wondering why the shut down of the comments for Condoleeza Rice...I mean really why don't you let the people who are always yelling racism about everything continue their ranting and raving about her....or are you afraid that someone may realize HOW RACIST THE COMMENTS ARE.
Condoleeza has more dignity and honor then Obama could ever dream of and as far as Pelosi, she isn't even fit to clean Condie's shoes.
Anyhow Joe Biden is a joke and Obama was smart enough to pick someone who wouldnt' show him hmmmm just thinking but I'll just laugh to myself

So they caught the VP cursing – well for some reason curse words seem to be used for emphasis as a substitute for more vivid, properly constructed phrases. Perhaps more insulting is that it is considered news. Even more insulting is that Twitter was the While House Press Secretary's media choice for "diffusing" the incident. I find it somewhat perplexing that pro football players and the White House press Secretary choose the same medium to make sure the public is aware of their every thought.

Foot in the mouth Joe did it again! But what can we expect from a moron like him? He is no better than his boss who once called the Cambridge police "stupid", and who bowed in deep Salaam to the Saudi King degrading the office of the President of the United States!

But to think that this clown is just one heartbeat away from the presidency really gives me the creeps! God forbid that he ever takes the place of Obama!

OMG, what is this once greatest country in the world getting itself into?
Don't blame me, I did not vote for these two comedians!

Seriously, after protesters shouted the N word and the F word at specific government officials, after a member of the house of representatives shouted "baby killer" at another member – interrupting his speech, this is absolutely NOTHING! I will not tolerate one right winger complaining about this. Clean up your own house, and tell your thugs to stop vandalizing DNC offices while your at it!!!!! Oh, and tell the crazies to stop carrying around the banners with the President in the coffin and the one showing a gun (Browning).
