Reid: Prayers prevented wife from being paralyzed after accident

Washington (CNN) - Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada, believes prayers for his wife after her car accident earlier this month prevented her from being paralyzed.

"With the prayers that have been offered all over the country for my little wife, that's meaningful to me," Reid said during a Capitol Hill press conference Wednesday, "because I'm confident that those prayers prevented my wife from being paralyzed."

Landra Reid, Reid's wife of more than 50 years, suffered a broken neck, nose, and vertebra in a car accident outside Washington on March 11. Their daughter, Lana Reid, was also in the vehicle but her injuries were not as serious.

How is this news ? Why not report on all backroom deals and kickbacks. Nice article on answering questions about the new health care "LAW". CNN did not even have to write it. They just got it from the oboma press office. How about some real reporting. Do reporters even remember how to investigate a story or do they just submit any crap the white house gives them. CNN YOU ONCE WERE A REAL NEWS NETWORK. You once reported real news, TRUSTED AND RESPECTED. Now nothing more than a propaganda machine. JUST A CHANNEL ON THE TV NO ONE WANTS TO WATCH. We would be better off with another home shopping network, not that anyone has any money because a clown in the white house has waisted all of our time on unwanted health care and not JOBS!

But we certainly don't want children to pray in school.

You keep telling yourself that Reid. I am sure the EMTs, doctors and nurses don't get any credit?

Reid quit kidding yourself. Give the doctors and emergency staff the credit they deserve.

Harry Reid, shame on you. You are now just another politician playing the "God" card for political expediency. We know your race is tough this fall, but this kind of religious blather won't help.

Usually it is the loathsome Republicans who pull out this nonsense.

Now, are you saying "God" would have paralyzed your wife if strangers had not interceded with him on her behalf? Really? If so, your invisible boss is quite capricious!

Now let me ask, why did "God" put your wife into an auto accident to begin with? He must have known a lot of folks would later "pray" for her, right, and he would have to jump in and help fix her.

Please politicians. Stop the religion talk. We get it. You use it for votes. But it is gross. And offensive. Stop worrying about superstition and focus on reality!

So does that mean that people who do get paralyzed in an accident just didn't pray hard enough?

I do pray that his family fully recovers. It must have been a terrible event.

Inspiring news, indisputable facts, proof that faith works.
Very rational truth, incontrovertible facts, straight from the
horse's mouth of our Senate Majority Leader.
THE CURE FOR PARALYSIS HAS BEEN DISCOVERED!!
Though he didn't say to whom they were praying,
I think we Amerikans can safely assume they all were praying to Allah.
Now if only they had all been praying to Allah b4 the accident,
Allah woulda known enuff to prevent the accident itself, too.
Too late to pray for Christopher Reeve, though he be Superman.
    Lesson learned:
Let us all pray that Senator Reid doesn't get hit by a truck tomorrow.
And if tomorrow he doesn't get hit by a truck,
that will be further proof positive that Almighty Allah is busily
    answering all our prayers.
    Amen

Not really too big on Harry, but get off his back already! The guy's been through so many events in the past few months, and reminds us that politicans are people too. NO ONE should discriminate a Politican when family or marital affairs are involved. It's humiliating towards the family.
