(CNN) - Inside the Washington beltway, Rep. Bart Stupak is taking heat from the left and right.
Three days after a major anti-abortion group took back its "Defender of Life" award from the Michigan Democrat over his support for the health care bill, the nation's leading abortion rights groups announced Wednesday that it is backing Stupak's primary election challenger because Stupak helped delay the legislation for months.
Abortion rights groups blame Stupak for holding up the health care bill, which President Obama signed Tuesday, over objections to its abortion provisions. Abortion foes said Stupak betrayed them by ultimately signing on to the bill.

If all the people that voted for this bill are worried they have nobody to blame but themselves. They should listen to the majority of the voters in the first place.
I think the threats are way out of line and the people doing this if caught should be locked up for a long time.
Make your voices heard vote them out in 2010 and 2012.
They are only defenders of non-breathing life. As soon as you are breathing they don't care about you at all. They don't want your mother to have insurance for you, God forbid you have a birth defect. They don't want to pay one red cent to help with anything-not after you are breathing. But, they will support every war and of course the death penalty. Now,if you don't believe in everything they believe in, they may try to kill you as well. People like them killed Dr Tiller.
How can you be "pro-life" and make violent threats?
Please remember all of these people you threaten were once un-born children.
This is why ignorance is so dangerous in our country.
Can folks not understand that this bill has nothing what so ever to do with the legality of abortion?
If these tea party folks or who ever were to educate ones self on roe vs wade, they would learn that, the right to have an abortion was passed by a majority vote of CONSERVATIVE picked, CONSERVATIVE Judges, and it was UPHELD, in a time when the SUPREME COURT HAD A MAJORITY OF CONSERVATIVES JUDGES, meaning, if they wanted to they could have done away with all aspects of roe vs wade but they did not, instead they strengthend the law.
So this idea that somehow liberals are to blame for abortion being legal is just silly and ignorant too the real facts. Passing health care reform will save more childrens lives, than not.
They should get threats. This is NOW the obama way. Remember wew are the people.
Abortion is an elective procedure in most cases (except to save the life of the mother, or in cases of rape or incest) so this should not have federal funding. Neither should fertility treatments or elective plastic surgery.

These are angry times. When Obama said that the Democrats would need courage to vote for "His" bill. He was right. They don't have any. But they will need it. These are angry times. Sad.
You forgot to mention that he and his family are also receiving death threats from the American taliban – the republicans. Our very own domestic terrorists, upset because they lost the election and can't have their way. They're pathetic.
