Obama to New England and North Carolina next week

President Obama is set for a busy week, touting health care reform in Maine, then heading to Massachusetts and North Carolina.

Washington (CNN) - Barack Obama heads to Maine next week, the president's second stop outside of the nation's capitol to tout the benefits of health care reforms since he signed the bill into law on Tuesday.

The White House says the president will hold a health care event in Portland, Maine next Thursday. Obama went to Iowa Thursday to build support for the health care measure, his first event outside of Washington since signing the legislation.

After his stop in Maine, Democratic sources tell CNN that Obama is expected to headline a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in Boston.

The White House says the next day the president jumps on Air Force One again, destination Charlotte, North Carolina, where he's scheduled to deliver remarks on the economy.

My, Ryan. Touchy, aren't you? How did you read that into this piece??
However, I don't see the need to keep selling it. Isn't it a done deal?

Funny how the righties commenting here can only manage vitriolic, personal attacks without any substance. It's like every other irrational argument they have made for the last year.

Obama is visiting the people who put him in office. Most presidents don't return to Iowa until it's time for another caucus. Obama remembers who has supported him and that is refreshing.

Any day now however, we will here people complaining again that he should be focusing on the economy instead of traveling. I mean no one expects that the ability to walk AND chew bubblegum simultaneously should be a prerequisite of his job.

Today the news covered a nanny in Ky. who saved the child she was watching from their burning home. She is in the hospital for burns to her feet and her right hand. Found out she does not have health care ins. & now will have to pay for a week of health care for saving this kid's life. May be she will think twice next time before saving someone's life and think about what it is going to cost you just as insurance greed and stupid uneducated selfish republicans do. I have had health care for 32 years someone tell me why my health insurance is refusing to pay a $13K bill due to the ambulance taking my husband to a hospital emergency room when he was having complication from a heart attack. The hosp. is 25 minutes from my residence and my health ins co stated he should have went to Providence hosp which is 1 and 1/2 hours away?

i hate to say it but i have been living in US for quite some time and this country become one of the most selfish people i have ever met in my life...we do not take care of each other....other people do not have health insurance, we claim that we are a christain nation and we act like some selfish people i know we are going to get on our high horse and point out all the things that we have done for other people and country and i know we have but stop acting like we are a vagabond and get some bowels of compassion and help those people who do not have health insurance and cannot pay for it..we do anyway when they go to the emergency room ...when we get our astrnomical bill when we go to the doctors...I'm not rich but i do not mind , its going to come out of our taxes anyway...help somebody and get over ourselves...i also know some ignorant and rude people is gong to come on and disagree but do it in a respectful way and do not let the world see our true colors...restrain yourselves.

@Sue – you go girl – Romney vs Obama? Are you serious? Is this same romney who was heard telling the world that the quitter would make a good president? That same rommey? Please don't make me laugh. He seems to be the best :) that the repugs have to offer. You should all be ashamed that you can't anyone better.
I rather the President travel to talk to us than go on vacation to Texas every time he had a chance.
He is not selling the healthcare reform. It already passed.
As the Commander in Chief he has to go on international trips. Just like officials of other countries come to Washington to meet with him.

He can and should go ALL over these United States. From sea to shining sea. Meeting with his citizens, dispelling lies, and instilling trust where only fear has existed. He is a beacon of light and THE HARDEST WORKING PRESIDENT many of us have ever witnessed.

I wish the President and Congress would spend more time and energy finishing the war in Afganstan. Seems like they are always running for re-election. The priorties are screwed up. Ending the war, where our brave young men and women are frighting should be the #1 priorty of this nation.

Seems that the blogs are now full of repug right wing nutsos. I don't listen to your leaders (limberger, beck, quitter, hannity and such) but are they telling you people to spew your hatred here at CNN?
It's a shame we can't do the same at faux news because they censor anything that doesn't smell rotten as repugs and the KKK.

He was a senator for less than 2 full years before he started to campaign. My guess from his vote of present all the time that he didn't know how to be a senator so he started campaigning and he doesn't know how to lead so again he is out campaigning. I just think he likes to hear his own B$ . Look the country has never been more devided, He says bring it on. Look he has made a mockery out of the presidency. IF its not letting girl friday attend the dinner party while no one is checking on who the guess that get in are, to degrading the rose garden to Cheers pub in the back yard. to letting your music pals sit in the war room ,where many of senators I doubt have been.. and flash your signs.. maybe they missed the picture tour over New York. ..Yeah we get it you all think your what was it biden says.. A big F nnn deal.. NOT!!! You have turned it into a reality TV show. Well I can't wait till November.. I am sorry Democrats , put out your flame you have been voted off. and again we will hear it in 2012.. Mister big stuff you have also been voted off. Then we can get back to recovering the country from the Tax and spend crybabies.

Oh, Sue, to be as blind as you! Where to begin. Jimmy Carter, you say. Well, unfortunately for Jimmy, he wasn't able to ever get his party fully behind him. President Obama has managed that quite well.

Mittens will never get HIS party behind him, and with flailing Palin in the mix, the GOP are more divided than the democrats ever were when Carter ran. This will become more and more evident as the summer months pass.

You do love your socialism talking points, don't you. Problem for you is that factless talking points generally hit the pavement long before they are fully read and influence no one.

What an obssive ego manic!!!!! How about fighting for jobs? Ask a crowd of the unemployed which they need more, a job or health care insurance more. 100% of them will tell you they need a job. And most of them would get health care insurance as a benefit is they got a job. They will also tell you if they got sick or hurt now while they are unemploymed, they can go to emergency and get treated. But they can't go anywhere to get the money to pay for their mortgage or rent or bills.
Get a clue Obama. You bullied your own reluctant party members to pass a bad bill and Obamacare is now law. Now he is just obsessed with his legacy. He can't focus on anything else until a majority of Americans love Obamacare so he can have his throne in history.
Meanwhile Americans are suffering without jobs and the nation's back is being slowing borken under a mountain of debt.
Impeach Obama, he is dangerous to our nations future and present for that matter.

Hey Libbies...........Watch and see what happens during the November elections--the Democrats are going to get clobbered.

I predict that there will be a lot of Libbies hiding from these blogs--as they cry themselves to sleep at night.

Enjoy the next 8 months Libbies--as after the November elections, Obama becomes a lame duck.

During our lifetime, we will never see the Democrats given this much power/control again--the Independents will make sure of that.

Big deal. Presidents travel to see the people and to spread the message he is trying to get out. If its political, the campaign and the party pay for it. I'd much rather have a president travel and work, either on fund raising or talking about a topic or going overseas that sitting on his butt at the ranch like Bush did. Presidents need a vacation. Reagan had his ranch. But he worked as did every other president.

When you have a third of your time asleep at the switch like Bush did, that is a bit much. And he was the first guy to make $400,000 a year.

If someone gets something i.e. healthcare and needs to fly all over America to explain to the people how great it is then it probably stinks. I would suggest that obama read it first then talk about what can understand about it.
