Rove initially didn't want Cheney

Washington (CNN) - If Karl Rove would have had his way – Dick Cheney would not have become vice president.

Rove explained how he laid out the arguments to then-Texas Gov. George W. Bush against choosing Cheney as a running mate, when asked in a CNN interview Thursday. Rove recounts the story in his new book, "Courage and Consequence: My Life as a Conservative in the Fight."

"He was set on Cheney for vice president, and I thought it was a bad idea," Rove told CNN Chief National Correspondent John King.

If I had my way, Rove, Rumsfeld, Chenay & Bush would be in jail. Too bad we don't live in a perfect world.

What a bunch of Bull! If Rove didn't want Cheney, then Cheney would not have been picked. If anyone is naive enough to believe Rove wasn't calling all of the shots in the Bush administration, then they need to wake up and pay attention. Bush was a figure head that had a last name these extremists needed at the time. The man can't even put two coherent sentences together, or hold a press conference unless he is heavily scripted and programmed. Rove was the President working the puppet strings on Bush and Cheney was the mouth they used to detract attention from the puppet while they transferred wealth from the middle class to their already wealthy friends.

Bush made a valid point if something happend to him who would be left to run the country. Can you imagine being in worse hands than that villiage idiot Biden if God forbid something happend to Obama. No one has to wonder why Biden was in bottom 1/4 of his class in a third rate college & law school. At least Bush was in Yale & Harvard.

Who in the devil would take you serious Rove. OH YEAH THE MENTALLY RETARED OBAMA SUPPORTERS WHO KEEP SAYING PALIN IS INCITING RACIAL HATRED. Lord helps us it don't take Palin to raise racial hatred just listen to what's coming out of your mouths. You people's problem is you think you can just do about whatever since you got away with a 90% populated Los Angeles by hitting a whitey in the head with a brick bat. This really does not icite racial hatred doesn't it. WELL NEWS FOR YOU IDIOTS IT'S BACK. AND YOU CAN THANK YOURSELVES. YOUR SO DUMB YOU STILL DO NOT HAVE TO NUMBERS TO OVERCOME THE WHITEYS. EAT THAT AND IF IT'S VIOLENCE YOU WANT THEN YOU'VE GOT IT.

More than half of the people in this country didn't even want Shrub. His right-wing leaning supreme court annointed him.

There is no doubt that the Whitehouse was run by Cheney and that is why Rove did not want him. Rove ran the administration until Cheney got there, so of course Rove was threatened by Cheney. Bush was merely the symbolic President.

I don't believe Rove for a second. It sounds more like revisionist history.

This was the only thing Rove was right about. Cheney picked himself as VP knowing that he would be the power behind the throne free to appoint his buddy Rumsfeld as SecDef and make WMD claims without evidence.

OMG! I never thought I would agree with this man, but if not cheney, then who would have run the country for those eight years? Then again, could it have been rove all along and we are blaming cheney and bush for eight years of hell?

IF that's true it's the only thing Rove has ever said that I agree with.

Sensible people don't want to see or hear from either one! If that was Bush's first decision .... we should not be surprised at the others. Then there was McCain & Palin ... talk about bad decisions! Now that McCain McCain is whining, saying he will no longer work with Democrats and the White House on ANY ISSUE, I'm so glad he is not the President!

"There will be no cooperation for the rest of the year," he said after the vote. Pouting is not attractive at his age.

There you go again, Karl, lying through your teeth.

Dick Cheney was chosen to head up the VP selection committee and ... selected himself!

Everyone knows you and Dick ran the show for 8 years; GW was just your little frontman puppet, because there's no way anyone would ever elect you and Dick – two of the most vile creatures to ever walk the face of the earth.
