Democrats raise money off of Biden's F-bomb

(CNN) – President Obama's political organization agrees with Vice President Joe Biden: "Health Reform is a BFD."

While using the four-letter word could land an elementary school kid in detention, Organizing for America is embracing it with the hope of raising some cash.

OFA, the president's political arm housed at the Democratic National Committee, is using Biden's now infamous phrase on a T-shirt to commemorate the signing of health care reform into law.

Donors who give at least $25 will receive "a limited edition 'Health Reform is a BFD' T-shirt in a super-soft, fine jersey (men's) or baby rib (women's) cotton fabric," according to a new fundraising page posted Wednesday on OFA's Web site.

A jubilant Biden made the remark after he finished introducing Obama before the president signed the landmark legislation last week. As he was stepping away from the podium, the vice president leaned in to Obama and said, "This is a big f***king deal."

A microphone picked up the vice president's comments. A short time later, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs wrote on his Twitter account: "And yes Mr. Vice President, you're right ... "

Now, OFA is comparing the signing of the health care reform legislation into law to other momentous occasions.

"There are things that are a big deal - birthdays, anniversaries, the NCAA Championship game," OFA wrote in a fundraising note. "And then there are things that are a BFD, like delivering health insurance to 32 million Americans."

Brad Woodhouse, a DNC spokesman, told CNN he thinks it is important for Democrats to highlight the importance of health care reform.

"Health reform is a huge and historic deal that will benefit American families and small businesses," Woodhouse said. "We and our supporters agree with the Vice President – health reform is a big bleeping deal."

They need to make more money to advertise hard for their candidates after failing to listen to the American people when we said to start all over and take it in baby steps instead of having a sweeping healthcare reform bill.

Organizing for America is raising funds for what – a better American culture? VP Biden and this OFA club are likened to treating people like trash cans – they step on your foot, your head pops open like a lid and they dump their vulgar trash into your mind – it's a form of disrespect for others, "in your face" "we will make you think of this word over and over again until mabey one day you will become like one of us."

At least Joe Biden tells it like it is. I dare any Republican to openly speak their mind(s)(??!) and not cause a media sensation or cause the media to completely ignore it like they usually do.

Awesome. It really is a BFD. Since 1943 we have tried, and only president Obama with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid were able to deliver after all that time, despite the best efforts of republicons to keep Americans going bankrupt and being sentenced to death by insurance companies.

This cheapens the deep reason why this bill was signed. Many wonderful people will receive benefit from this signing. Had Vice President Biden appologized for his comment, we would not be seeing this or encouraging this kind of conduct in our youth.

What a sad commentary on the continuing moral decline in this country. Where will we be 20 years from now?

Making money on a disgusting comment vivdly reveals the depths that the Obama Administration will stoop to. Obama is carrying too much bad luggage. How Obama's campaign committments and promises has so drastically changed. He has no crediblility and history will show that his leadership is second only to Carter.

Are the Dems serious. Biden uses the F bomb and that is something to celebrate and raise money for. What a disgrace. It just shows the moral compass of the Democratic party. Obama and the goons ram health care down the throats of Americans, creating another huge cost to an already bankrupt country. The US is becoming a joke. I would rather buy a t-shirt that had the letters NFW....well you get the picture.....Biden is a classless pig anyway. MORON!!!!

Is this really what the American Political scene has come down to. The Founding Fathers must be rolling over in their graves over this. Just as the article stated a school student would end up in detention for saying that, and if one of us were to utter it in public we would be gawked at and demoralized. The DNC should really think about what message are they really sending, that comment has nothing to do with Health Care and the Vice President, who should be a role model for our younger generation, should appologize and demand the t-shirt not be sold.

    Three things

    1. When used as an adjective (rather than a reflexive command like Dick Cheney to Pat Leahy) it is not nearly as offensive.

    2. It IS a big F%^&ing deal.

    3. Oh well I guess there was just two things.

Nice. What a legacy for the younger generation to emulate. What's wrong with just a Big Deal? We can see this administration needs some morality as well as ethics.
