Palin warns of 'Second Holocaust' if Iran gains nuclear weapons

Washington (CNN) – Just minutes after the clock expired on the first day of Passover, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin issued a biting critique of the Obama administration's Middle-East policy via her Facebook page.

In a post entitled "Peace Not Possible if Iran Escapes Real Sanctions," Palin accuses President Obama of dropping the pursuit of "crippling" sanctions against Iran and treating Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu like an "unwelcome guest" during a recent visit to Washington.

"[J]ust as the Obama administration inexplicably gives up on imposing crippling sanctions on Iran, it's taken an uncompromising hard line against one country in the Middle East: Israel," Palin writes. "On his recent visit to Washington, the Israeli Prime Minister was treated like an unwelcome guest, as shown by White House actions such as refusing to be photographed with Israel's Prime Minister."

Palin argues that the Obama administration's actions have failed to rein in Tehran's nuclear ambitions, and that more than one year into Obama's presidency, his administration has made "no progress" on sanctions.

"The Obama administration has their priorities exactly backwards; we should be working with our friend and democratic ally to stop Iran's nuclear program, not throwing in the towel on sanctions while treating Israel like an enemy."

Palin warns that the consequences of a nuclear Iran would be devastating for Israel.

"Iran's leaders have repeatedly called for the destruction of Israel and with nuclear weapons and the means to deliver them, the mullahs would be in a position to launch a Second Holocaust," Palin writes.

"We foresee a regional nuclear arms race beginning as other countries seek their own nuclear weapons to protect themselves from Iran. Nuclear non-proliferation efforts would be over," she added.

Last week, President Obama met at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a meeting that was closed to the press. Netanyahu also met with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden during his trip to Washington.

The Israeli leader met with administration officials after a show of solidarity with leaders of Congress from both parties, during which he thanked the U.S. lawmakers for their "constant support" and "unflagging" friendship.

Netanyahu's visit came amid a row over Israel's decision to build new Jewish housing on disputed land in East Jerusalem.

This woman has the politics of the middle east all wrong. By distancing himself from Netanyahu- a hard liner disliked by all the Arab nations including our allies- President Obama can move closer to the Arab nations who have influence in Iran and put pressure on Iran through its neighbors.

Last time I checked, Israel had no influence in Iran, either politically or militarily.

This is political maneuvering which is just as delicate and fraught with danger as any military operation. It's just fought on a different kind of front. If Sarah Palin wants to weigh in, fine, but her rhetoric is both ill-advised and ill-timed (as usual. Where are those death panels???)

I'd be more worried of the Holocost Pailn and/or her followers would commit against Americans that don't believe the same as she does.

Israel only has one way to help with "disarming" Iran, and it doesn't involve crippling sanctions, Sarah.

Exactly how was the Israeli PM treated like an unwelcomed guest? Because of a photo shoot? Ms. Palin is up to her old tricks of taking a tiny kernal of truth and spinning it into a web of innuendo and lies. Ms. Palin, you are not privy to what goes on behind closed doors, because you are no longer an elected official. Good grief, if your dire predictions about Obama were all lined up in a row they would circle Alaska a kazillion times. Oops, you agenda is showing.

Okay, and were nuclear weapons necessary to create the Holocaust during WWII? No. Just a lot of people looking the other way and some trains.

Once again, Palin simply shouts inflammatory phrases with no rationale to explain her conclusion. Why doesn't she donate some of that speech money to healthcare for children? or education? Why doesn't she give speeches at churches?

Ms. Palin, in case you don't know Israel is a nuclear state, they have about 200 warheads by some counts.

Furthermore, your country set the precedent that a sovereign nation is entitled to develop nuclear technology for the purposes of war, witness the Manhattan Project!

And sadly, your country also set another precedent: a sovereign nation has the right to USE nuclear weapons in times of war, witness Hiroshima and Nagasaki!

In fact, the USA has the largest arsenal of weapons of mass destruction: nuclear, chemical and biological, the world has ever beheld!

If the USA was to destroy its entire arsenal and disavow the right to posses nuclear and other weapons I could then hardly disagree with you then that Iran should be dissuaded from nuclear development; however that doesn't appear to be on the horizon.

And further, your nation funds and equips the Israeli war machine. Whose helicopter gunships, missiles and bullets are used against the Palestinians? Yours, of course! And you wonder why the Arab world hates your country?

Israel has no intention to negotiate for peace, because it doesn't have to as long as you are willing to go into debt to supply it with arms and munitions.

Israel had a peace, it was the Oslo Accords. And for a time there was peace, the Palestinians held to their side of the bargain. Where was Israel in that regard?

Israel is an arrogant spoiled brat! And you are spoiling the child!

And, in so far as Iran is concerned, ask yourself the question: Why does Iran feel the need to possess nuclear technology, why do they feel so threatened that they need these weapons? Diffuse Iran's need for nuclear weapons and you will solve that problem.

Wonder, if she can provide us with who wrote the "Star Spangled Banner" when and why.

Then, she may be close to getting a solid understanding of what America really stands for.

Sarah Pain is not on the same shoes as the President of the United States. The strategy of US Policy for the Middle East is much more complicated what Palin could even think about it. Palin needs to have more study to do on the complexity and various dimensions on the issues about the ME peace process that has been going on for over 60 years. So, it is imperative for Palin to understand more on the issues, not just about the photo ops, before give a cheap shot with no rational sense. Please learn first, Mrs. Palin, before you make such cheap remarks on your facebook page.

If there is a second holocaust, Sarah will be at the helm, in charge. With her us/them, one size fits all, authoritarian mentality run amok, and her lunatic cronies on the right, they'd just love it if they could cram their agenda down everyone else's throats. What's particularly comical about Sarah is she's so completely clueless about everything, and yet people still listen to her.

If Republicans ever want to get back to what they once had, they will have to divest themselves of their lunatic neo-nazi fringe.

Given they don't look like they're going to do that anytime soon,

    "Why do Republicans hate America?"

Shut up and yes, sit down, Sarah-who-sold-her-soul-for fame-and-wealth!

It was President Bush who enabled Iran to build up its nuclear capabilities by taking us to war with Iraq and ignoring the Iran problem.

The Iran problem goes way back to Ronald Reagan and the first Bush Presidents. Do you really think that Iran built up its nuclear capabilities in 1 year and 3 months????

Obama has restored America's standing with her allies and they are now willing to stand with America against foreign threats such as Iran. Russia is now more of an ally, and so is France.

Bush did not impose ANY sanctions on Iran...what do you have to say about that??? Instead he left behind the HUGE pile of s**t he for Obama to clean up.

So shut up and sit down you screeching idiot!!!

My God! There can't be that many stupid people in America. Well, I thought there couldn't be, then I read some of the responses on Sarah's Facebook page. If any of these people every get a position of power this country and the world is doomed. Talk about a terrorist group. I never imagined there were this many hillbillies in this country.
