Palin warns of 'Second Holocaust' if Iran gains nuclear weapons

Washington (CNN) – Just minutes after the clock expired on the first day of Passover, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin issued a biting critique of the Obama administration's Middle-East policy via her Facebook page.

In a post entitled "Peace Not Possible if Iran Escapes Real Sanctions," Palin accuses President Obama of dropping the pursuit of "crippling" sanctions against Iran and treating Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu like an "unwelcome guest" during a recent visit to Washington.

"[J]ust as the Obama administration inexplicably gives up on imposing crippling sanctions on Iran, it's taken an uncompromising hard line against one country in the Middle East: Israel," Palin writes. "On his recent visit to Washington, the Israeli Prime Minister was treated like an unwelcome guest, as shown by White House actions such as refusing to be photographed with Israel's Prime Minister."

Palin argues that the Obama administration's actions have failed to rein in Tehran's nuclear ambitions, and that more than one year into Obama's presidency, his administration has made "no progress" on sanctions.

"The Obama administration has their priorities exactly backwards; we should be working with our friend and democratic ally to stop Iran's nuclear program, not throwing in the towel on sanctions while treating Israel like an enemy."

Palin warns that the consequences of a nuclear Iran would be devastating for Israel.

"Iran's leaders have repeatedly called for the destruction of Israel and with nuclear weapons and the means to deliver them, the mullahs would be in a position to launch a Second Holocaust," Palin writes.

"We foresee a regional nuclear arms race beginning as other countries seek their own nuclear weapons to protect themselves from Iran. Nuclear non-proliferation efforts would be over," she added.

Last week, President Obama met at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a meeting that was closed to the press. Netanyahu also met with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden during his trip to Washington.

The Israeli leader met with administration officials after a show of solidarity with leaders of Congress from both parties, during which he thanked the U.S. lawmakers for their "constant support" and "unflagging" friendship.

Netanyahu's visit came amid a row over Israel's decision to build new Jewish housing on disputed land in East Jerusalem.

Can't this woman ever shut up her lying mouth? Obama has said that he wants new sanctions by next against Iran...Quit shooting from the hip even when you know nothing about Passover....Does she think that he doesn't know what he doing..Maybe she should look in her back yard and see that Russia and China won't back us up.

I do wish Sarah Palin would make the effort to understand something before she opens her mouth about it. Middle East peace is inconceivable without a two state solution for Palestine and Israel. As long as Netanyahu's immature pandering to the religious right in israel continues, so will the equally immature posturing of Hamas. Likud and Hamas are in every sense co-dependents and co-authors of the continued suffering of the Palestinian people, and the loss of innocent life on both sides. Obama's response to the inflammatory Israeli policy of building settlements in the occupied territories and East Jerusalem is pragmatic. The Iranian regime only gains from this kind of provocation. Solve the Palestinian issue, and the Iranian dictators – as well as Al Quaeda – lose their theme. They have more to gain from Netanyahu's policy succeeding than the United States or the peoples of Palestine and Israel. So who exactly does Sarah Palin think she is helping with her unreflecting and offensively ill-informed statement ?

I'm glad we have a President who no longer treats Israel like the 51st state.

The Palestinians bear some responsibility for the ongoing ugliness in that region, but Israel is the only one who has the power to change the situation. The Palestinians have nothing, therefore they have nothing to bargain with.

There is nothing anti-Semitic about pointing out the shortcomings of Israel's government. They are just a country, like any other country, and you will have to excuse me if being the "Chosen People" or living in the "Promised Land" doesn't carry much weight with me.

Palin is acting more and more like Chicken Little, of "Chicken Little, The Sky Is Falling" fame. Exactly what hard line against Israel measures is Palin talking about? Could she list them please? - on her hand or on a whiteboard.

It’s clear that Caribou Barbie did not write this so-called policy critique. Her own depth of knowledge about Middle East policy rivals that of a mud puddle. For legitimate news sources to be covering her parroting is an insult to serious journalists and policy experts.

This is the future of the GOP highpitch fear mongering to the far right masses that are willing to believe anything. For Gov Palin to give a critique of mid east policy just too funny she did not even know the history of the north/south Korea problem.

Yesterday the headline read that France was supporting US lead for upcoming tougher sanctions, as were Russia and China. Again she lies. Two wars aren't enough for Sarah. Where is Iran Sarah? Could you ever find it on a map? Where is the house you can see it from?

Netanyahu missed a photo op? Gimme a break. It's time Isreal really
worked towards peace, rather than provoking violence. Come to think of it, that's what Palin does too.

Please stop writing stories about Sara Palin. Her followers are the same people that read at a high school level, have no idea where France is on a map and think the world is going to end next week. America is in serious trouble and it is becuas of people like Sara Palin. No where in history has soo much power been in the hands of ignorant people with the abilities to destroy the world.

Palin needs to give it a break. She lost and now all she is doing to get attention is stirring up any type of mess that she can. Palin if you love your country, work with it not against it.

The only holocaust I see here is Palin's and the rest of the GOP/Teatarding crowd's mass murder of fact-based rationality and reasoned use of empirical evidence.

Rather odd take on history given that we believed the sanctions on Iraq led to an accumulation of WMDs. I'm not clear on what to do but I certainly expect clear guarantees on any future development of nuclear energy since failure is permanent.
