Republicans celebrate April Fools by praising Obama

Republicans are praising President Obama on April Fools Day.

(CNN) - National Republicans praised President Obama Thursday and declared that he has "kept all his promises" and is "truly the greatest president ever."

No, this is not an episode of “The Twilight Zone.” It's an April Fools Day joke from the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

In a new Web video, the GOP organization tasked with regaining control of the Senate this November, cheers Obama for solving global warming "by replacing cars with low-emission unicorns” and achieving an unemployment rate of "negative 39 percent," among other “accomplishments.”

If it wasn’t already clear, the committee quickly said it's only joking:

"Get real,” an announcer abruptly said. “ObamaCare is just the latest in a long list of broken promises by the liberals in Washington. No transparency. A government takeover of health care. And even more jobs threatened by billions in mandatory new health care costs. Promise after promise…broken. Don't be fooled by Obama and the Democrats in Congress."

Better than being lied to and stolen from by the GOP, all the while they shove dollars down the g-strings of strippers just after a bible study and before they drive drunk to the shooting range.

Let the Republicans keep saying NO and the american people will say No to them. Keep listening to Palin, Beck, Hannity Kristol, (FOX) and Rush. I forgot Ann and Rowe. The wall will come down on Republicans.

Just another example of disappointing maturity. Put out the joke and let it be, jokes are funny, acting like juveniles with the commentary just shows stupidity. Expected from Palinites, not a Senatorial Committee. Get some dignity.

Promise after promise broken? Really? It's been a slow road but President Obama is on track. The man is not God! He never promised miracles.

Don't be fooled by the republican lies. They are liars and will say ANYTHING to regain control of congress. The republican party is what is wrong with National politics.

Totally classless, to misuse a day when the public can truly enjoy some time off from political screw-ups.

Hey, friends, let's get real ourselves--don't invite the public in for a joke and then puke on them.

Joke or not, I prefer this President and the eight years that he will serve than the mess we had with the Republicans the last eight years. And what an embarrassment the Republicans are showing the American people now. Repeal the health care law? How stupid are they? Health care is NOT government takeover. READ THE BILL. States can opt-out of mandated health insurance. Republicans in Congress haven't read the bill because they had no intention of voting for it anyway. They are so pathetic. All you Fox News people believe everything you hear. If you were knowledgeable, you would know it is an impossiblity. Keep listening to those idiots on Fox and those Republicans like Cantor and Boehner. Let them continue leading you down a fool's path. President Obama is the people's President. All he is working for is the good of the people. I am so glad that I lived to see this day!!!!

Hmm ... yeah. This is a case of straining so hard to make a joke that it is the verbal equivalent of beating a dead horse – It ain't going to work for you no matter how hard and how many times you jab at it.

Then to conclude with the "serious" message that is supposed to convert those on the fence after already whining, "we hate Obama" over and over again beforehand? Nah, this is the type of comedy twelve-year-old nerds come up with when faced with someone who is a success and ignores them. Just classic fail all around.

Did you see the latest? Obama has put terrorist defense volunteers in charge of presecuting terrorists, and has put the NY Times Chief Legal Council in charge of prosecuting those who leak military secrets.

If you tried, you couldn't make this stuff up.

This is so stupid, so the GOP must be behind it. No, that is not a joke.

Figures – the Republicans think praising the President of the United States qualifies as an April Fool's joke. We're all in this together as a nation. They just don't get it do they?

So we can add humor to the long list of things that the republican party doesn't get. Sarcastic, mean-spirited insults are only funny to certain types of people, and there's a word for that type.
