(CNN) - National Republicans praised President Obama Thursday and declared that he has "kept all his promises" and is "truly the greatest president ever."
No, this is not an episode of “The Twilight Zone.” It's an April Fools Day joke from the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
In a new Web video, the GOP organization tasked with regaining control of the Senate this November, cheers Obama for solving global warming "by replacing cars with low-emission unicorns” and achieving an unemployment rate of "negative 39 percent," among other “accomplishments.”
If it wasn’t already clear, the committee quickly said it's only joking:
"Get real,” an announcer abruptly said. “ObamaCare is just the latest in a long list of broken promises by the liberals in Washington. No transparency. A government takeover of health care. And even more jobs threatened by billions in mandatory new health care costs. Promise after promise…broken. Don't be fooled by Obama and the Democrats in Congress."

The RNC is the joke. They had the White for 8 years and at the end of those 8, look how they left the country. Now they have the nerve to rag on a one year old administration.
For every half-way intelligent comment by Paul Ryan and his ilk, there are dozens of pathetically ignorant comments by the rest of the GOP. If the Tea Party People really want to accomplish anything, they ought all to leave the GOP and form a serious conservative party if that's what they want. If so, I think the GOP would come in third in short order.
How low can they go? Desperation is misery!
The RepubliKlans are the real fools, and the Joke will be on them in November when they loose even more seats.
Republicans celebrate April Fools by praising Obama
'Celebrate,' eh? Typical two faced behavior by Republicans.
Why don't they also 'celebrate' Sarah Palin's "Real American Stories" that begin on, you guessed it, April 1st.
If only the republicans could use some of those creative juices to solve a problem or two.
One of the biggest challenges for America today is lack of credible political opposition. As we have just seen, a party of temper tantrum is just as useful as having no opposition at all. And a bunch of Democrats giddy with success are not a good thing over long term, so I sincerely hope that, for the benefit of all Americans, GOP can be reborn from its current sad and absurd state.
I guess April fools day is one of the few days Republicans tell the truth, eh?
Republicans, part of the alleged "Christian," "family values" party, are the most mean-spirited and classless individuals existing in politics today–and probably throughout history. Their tacky, negative, hopeless and unproductive ways are so predictable at this point. They need new optimism at the helm, but I think a 'hopeful, optimistic, positive and encouraging Republican' is entirely oxymoronic.
The last paragraph sounds like a line from the Rush (lie) show!!! (or maybe Faux news)
The American people are tired of the same old Reptilicon lies.....can't they make up any NEW lies?????
The Repugliban only fooled themselves with this lame attempt at a joke, they are the true joke of this country and the biggest failure in government in our history. If you are looking for fools on any other day besidea April Fool Day you need look no further than the nearest Repugliban, they are all fools and morons, uneducated and illiterate fools the whole bunch of them, most cannot read above 6th grade English and yet they put down others who cannot say the word vote. If it were not for bigotry and racism this lame party of Greedy Old Pigs (GOP) would have nothing to stand on as a platform, Nuff Said!
How mature.
Typical Republican, They just complain , complain and DONT do much else...
Repubs are sore losers. You had your chance for 8 years and RUINED the country. Now you blame the current president for your past mistakes? Screw you repubs, you make me sick. Shame on you.
I don't think this is funny at all and I love a good April fools joke.
Why does everything the republicans say have to be mean, rude, snarky or completely out of line?
When did we decide that being rediculously brazen having no manners at all is OK in our republican leaders? Frankly, I'm embarrassed that this is our example to the world.
I'm not saying the Dems are perfect, but they don't seem to have lost all sense of decency like the republicans have. Even with all of the constitution-ripping Bush antics no one stepped out of line like the republicans have over health care.
I'm beginning to think the real anti-americans are the ones doing all of the finger-pointing with the right hand.
This has to be a joke. Its like the jock punching a nerd in the face and telling him "April fools". The only thing funny about it is how callous, aggressive, and uncreative the jock (i.e. GOP) is in this scenario.
The Republican Party is the greatest bunch of boobs this country has seen since Lincoln. This is not an April Fools Joke, this is a proclamation of fact. I wish the Republicans had told George Bush that attacking Iraq was wrong, but the boobs just went with the Cheney-Bush lies. I wish the Republicans would not have let Bush-Paulson hand $350 Billion Dollars to Paulson's buddies on Wall Street, but the boobs just went along with the theft of American Tax Payer's Monies. Boobs – not Hooters! Republicans are Boobs!
HaHa and the Republicans have bent over backwards to support and do what's best for America. HaHa April Fools.
The most creative thing the GOP has done in years!
What foolishness to spend money on this. Now, the National Republican Senate Committee, can promote that they not only are "The Party of No", but the Party of No Sense". For fools, money well spent! Marlene in Mich
Don't be fooled by politicians period. The industry of politics is about deception. Any political party claiming any form of moral high ground is a liar. Politics is about getting elected and staying in office. The rest is just about people being fooled by their politicians.
It's fine to disagree, but why do extremists have to demonize anyone who disagrees with them? It makes them look irrational.
Well, this video should put to rest all those criticisms about the GOP wasting contributors' funds...
Heres a joke, Republicans actualy care for the people. hahaha thats a laugh
I guess they forgot to include the 1-800 phone sex number like they put on their fund raising mailers.
