Toby Keith also unknowing participant in Palin's Fox News show

Toby Keith was also surprised to be featured in a Sarah Palin special on Fox News.

Toby Keith was also surprised to be featured in a Sarah Palin special on Fox News.

(CNN) - LL Cool J wasn't the only one surprised to see that he was part of Sarah Palin's upcoming Fox News program, "Real American Stories."

A representative for country star Toby Keith told CNN that she too was unaware that Fox News was using an old interview of Keith's, conducted sometime in early 2009.

"I had no idea Toby's interview was going to air on Sarah Palin's special. I found out after the press release went out and was contacted by a reporter asking about the show," Keith’s publicist said. "It is an old interview….I was never contacted by Fox requesting permission. I still have not heard from Fox."

Calls to Fox News for comment have not been returned.

Sarah, isn't this invasion of privacy? Did you get written authorization to aire previous interviews or do you just circumvent the rules or change them as you see necessary?

I have an idea................let's talk about the Palin's, upstanding Americans with great MORAL values.

Don't you sign a release form when you give interviews?
I know they do, so I find his surprise "opportunistic".

Would they have the same issue if someone else was the host and not Palin?

  3. Most Republicans - Wrong about everything, Wrong for America (and GW Bush was the worst President ever)

What a useless excuse for a human being Sarah Palin is. She has her own show, yet she is too lazy to even go out and do her own interviews. The show is supposed to show people, who against all odds, became a great American success story. All they have to do is show a picture of Sarah Palin. I mean, where else but America can someone who is so ignorant and lazy actually end up making millions.

What is it with FOX and Palin? They steal from others to create a "news special" for Palin. Well, that probably is the only way anyone with real intelligence will talk with her.

Doesn't Fox News own all rights to this material? Why would they need to ask permission every time they want to use it? These weiners need to shut up. They don't own and control every bit of tape they have appeared on!

The new Faux News analyst is using old interviews in her premier show. Shocked, simply shocked I say – and they wonder why they/she deserve the Faux title?

So what exactly did Fox and Palin plan here? To edit her face in, asking questions in a location similar to that of where the original interviewees were, and thus make it look like she interviewed them?

More importantly, what made them think they could use footage of these individuals in nationally-viewed ads and NOT expect those being used to publicaly ask questions?

LOL...whatever she (and Faux Noise for that matter) touches turns to poop. I suppose that's more convenient for her than if it was turning everything into gold since she so loves to throw it like an confused and angry macaque while screeching almost outside of the range of human hearing.

That danged Sarah, now she is just another lame-stream media personality twisting facts and using old footage. Toby should quit his music career to protest the elitist-media-Palin.

oh c'mon you people didn't expect palin to do any actual work did you??
given her history of plagiarism, penchant for quotes and pat prewritten answers this is just exactly what should be expected from this intellectual light weight, palin's supporters make a mockery of civil discourse and the healthy exchange of ideas, this show will just be more of the same crap she has shoveled in the past and will only be spoon fed to the small group of idiots who have a taste for it

This is really funny. So basically, no one agreed to be on her show. Fox is making the whole thing up. I make it a point not to laugh at a person's misfortune, but I think Fox and Palin have to be laughed at for making up the show, and being corrected by so-called guests!

Palin-Fox have been exploiting people from day one. The worst is when they try to pass themselves off as patriots when they promote anarchy.

Fox and Palin are dispicable people. They have no credibility whatsoever. Isn't this typical Palin? This isn' the first time she pulled this stunt. Remember her stealing the "Baracuda" song.

Once more with feeling: I can't stand Palin, but she didn't produce the show or make the MISLEADING commercials, which someone plagued by ethics suits needs like an extra elbow.

While the Palin ad keeps "correcting" itself by cutting the interviews with the unsuspecting celebrities, maybe it should consider cutting Palin!
I won't be watching any of the networks owned by the Discovery Channel anymore. It's a shame they have chosen to give her a forum and pay her such an outrageous amount of money! On the OTHER hand, maybe it's good this came out...maybe this is the real Discovery Network that's been secretly hiding it's anti-animal agenda and other such views.

How will Palin portray herself as the victim in this incident?

She will never accept responsibility because she has no idea what responsibility is!

she is her own victim, or she is fox's victim!

    McCain is her victim.

This is not about Palin, it is rather about those pesky celebrity types who don't want to cooperate with "real americans." Palin is the victim here, why can't llcoolj and tobykeith just let her walk all over them to achieve her goals.

I wonder if some faceless spokesperson for Fox News is going to make the same kind of snarky remarks about Toby Keith that were made about LL Cool J after he complained about an old interview of his being dressed up to look like a current interview by Sarah Palin.

Fox's spokesperson made the following remarks regarding LL Cool J: "However, as it appears that Mr. Smith (LL Cool J) does not want to be associated with a program that could serve as an inspiration to others, we are cutting his interview from the special and wish him the best with his fledgling acting career."

"Fledgling acting career"? The guy's been acting for years, has appeared in several movies and is the costar of one of TV's hottest action shows. He's also involved in a number of personal interests that already serve as an inspiration and example to others.

Fox News, by its actions against LL Cool J and Toby Keith as well as well as the remarks against LL Cool J, have acted reprehensibly and dishonestly. I have a feeling after all is said and done that Sarah Palin's "Real American Stories" will be cancelled faster than Cop Rock or My Mother the Car.

Funny!!!! The Repugs, conservatives, and losers over at FOX are trying to make something of Palin. But how can they? She is a dumb, uneducated airhead! They can't see it though. Which really concerns me!!! Does this mean that all her followers are as dumb and uneducated as she is? Scary!!!

Really???? What is wrong with this woman? Can't she even put together a TV show the "politically correct" way? You just don't use clips from inverviews that have nothing to do with the current show, and NOT contacting the star's publicist??? or the Star for the matter?? She's such a "class" act.

Fox is up to the usual lying, stealing and cheating. At first they said LL Cool had an incredible life, then when he asks for his likeness to be removed they wish him luck in his failing acting career. At least he is on a hit show that is at the top of the ratings. Physo Sarah does not have a job and lies for a living, much like the daily news on Fox. Palin seriously needs to be commited for her patalogical lies and I would allow my kids to watch LL Cool ,but will not allow them to watch or listen to Palins lies and hate. We call our mute button on the remote the "Palin Button" and everytime her lying screeching hateful voice comes on TV we hit the "Palin Button" and mute out the devils messages
