Toby Keith also unknowing participant in Palin's Fox News show

Toby Keith was also surprised to be featured in a Sarah Palin special on Fox News.
Toby Keith was also surprised to be featured in a Sarah Palin special on Fox News.

(CNN) - LL Cool J wasn't the only one surprised to see that he was part of Sarah Palin's upcoming Fox News program, "Real American Stories."

A representative for country star Toby Keith told CNN that she too was unaware that Fox News was using an old interview of Keith's, conducted sometime in early 2009.

"I had no idea Toby's interview was going to air on Sarah Palin's special. I found out after the press release went out and was contacted by a reporter asking about the show," Keith’s publicist said. "It is an old interview….I was never contacted by Fox requesting permission. I still have not heard from Fox."

Calls to Fox News for comment have not been returned.

And once again, Fox "News" and Sarah Palin lie in their teeth. Is anyone surprised?

So in other words Fox pulled out all stops to make it seem like people were part of the program unbenounced to them, and thought there would be no backlash? They are truly as stupid as their commentators and special guests.

I'm confused by this show: is she going to actually interview these people or is she recycling interviews done by other people and just be moderator?

Fox has NO new material; they have become experst at cut and paste. Just ask old Hiney-Hannity about how he increased the size of a tee-bagger rally by showing the news footage from anothe rally. These "fair and balanced" should be called "show and tell."

This is dumb, stupid, arrogant and just plain unbelievable. How can you take someone's interview and post it as your own without their permission and/or clearance. My extreme sympathies to the Tea Party and the Republican Party. SP is "going rouge" in new ways and embrassing your efforts in the process. Wow!

Toby, you are just another victim in a long line of victims of the propaganda machine aka Fox Noise. They have no regard for truth, honesty, or integrity.

It's amazing they haven't been sued for all they have for lying on air, libel, and copyright infringement.

Hey – personal media release – that’s only a pseudo-legal thing about business ethics or something, right?

Only has to do with personal, individual rights to intellectual property such as use of a star’s name, etc right?

So when did Sarah ever have anything to do with such trivial issues like personal rights and laws?

She is a former governor and therefore clearly above such commonfolk distractions as laws and business ethics…just ask the reverend at C Street Congressional Boarding House here in DC.

Fox news seems to be the right-wing garbage channel (though Bill O'Reilly – agree or disagree with him – he at least seems to logically construct his arguments, rather than resorting to blindly screaming at the other side) . . .

So is Fox going to passively -aggressively congratulate him on his fledgling music career? Or they going to let this one slide because they like him?

Most likely, as with LL Cool J, the old video taped interview is the property of Fox Broadcasting, subject to be used as they wish.
