Palin, Bachmann rally conservatives

Minneapolis, Minnesota (CNN) - Republican hot button Sarah Palin took the stage Wednesday in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota, calling on conservatives to "get our country back on the right track."

"It's not going to be easy. This is a challenge," she told the crowd. "The first task is to restore balance and common sense, and the first test will be at the ballot box in November."

The former Alaska governor and current conservative superstar headlined the event hosted by the Republican Party of Minnesota. Her last appearance in Minnesota was for her book tour in December.

Palin also offered a direct thank you to members of the Tea Party movement.

"I thank you for being part of this beautiful grassroots movement that's really sweeping across our country and it is full of common-sense conservatives who are ready to take our country back."

Those attending Palin's events are similar to those who must slow down and stare when passing an accident scene. She has to be the most superficial politician of the modern era, and a quitter to boot!

I can't wait to see how Fox will cover this. They will probably show a picture of the crowd at Woodstock and say that it is a shot of the turnout for the "Shining Lights of the Right".

@Dutch since you have referred to both great Americans as liars can you include one of their lies in your next ignorant comment. You seemed to have made a dumb accusation with no evidence. You are a typical left wing Ie socialist that wants to destroy our country. Go back under your rock genius.

    Mike:

Its a proven fact Republicans give a larger percentage of their income to charity. Also aborting babies and Christian values don't really mix. Neither party can claim to be values centered these days but your analysis is fraught with about as much truthfulness as one of Obama's speeches.

Hey, Wisconsonite, Minnesotans would love nothing better than to send Bachmann packing. Unfortunately, her district is made up of the bible thumping, wealth grabbing, greedy, . . . well, you get the picture . . .

Just look at the people attending this event . . .

When I see a woman who stands for something and tells everyone what that is, and then I see Obama who NOBODY knows what he stands for because he hides it, who do YOU trust to run this country? A liar and fake or someone who stands up for what they believe in? THIS is the question everybody needs to ask themselves. I have never voted for a Republican, but 2012 will likely be my first time. Those who are following the fraud, payback is coming. If God had to take sides here, Palin would surely win out.

The people wjo pay or don't pay to see her and hear her are just a bunch of sheep who have stars in their eyes and want to be in the moment.... when they wake up and really listen to the nothingness that comes out of her mouth they will be ashamed for themselves............ STOP .... reporting every LITTLE thing she says............... now her daughter is speaking for all unwed mothers...... please give me a break.............. besides who is taking care of her other children while she is out speaking AIR!

  12. She's a media giant.......

Sarah Palin has rocketed to the top, taking in millions from her book, speeches, TV productions, etc:

How can we ever thank people like Olbermann, Maddow, Matthews. Tina Fey, Pelosi, Reid, etc: for making this possible.

Sarah thanks you and I thank you.

@Marie in MD you need some serious psychological help. I don't get the whoke KKK reference. Can you please give me one example of a racist statement by either Michele Bachman or Sarah Palin. You are a typical liberal ie socialist that can't argue facts so instead you make up stories. Pretty sad attempt. The problem with people like you and the socialist party is that a majority of our country now realizes you and your ilk are a bunch of phonies. Senate and House in 2010 and presidency in 2012 guarantee will be under republican rule baby!!!!

"I really thought that the people of Minnesota were smarter than this."

Well, we thought we were, but since we haven't figured out a way to prevent those we disagree with from freely traveling to our state, I guess that means we're dumb. Which state do you live in?

People who are against big government forget that Ronald Tregan the hero of the conservative movemetn increased government by 70%.

People whom want no deficit forget that it was George Bush 2 who used reconcillitaion to pass the tax cuts for the wewaklhty that has resulted in $1.3 trillion dollars id debt for this country.

Thoise who claim to be christians and then say I am for the party that promotes self reliance. If that were true then you would belong to neither party. for the dfact of the matter is that you have what you have by th grace of God and nothing you did can change whta you have.

When you call Obamna a socialit you show that you lack the understandng and education to think citically and make informed decisions.

Insrtead of looking at people and hanging on thier cost tails learn the facts and think through the issues of the day and make a decision based on a esducated approach through critical thinking. Obama has done soem good things and has done some things that are very questionable, however at let he is willing to address the important issue of the day that affect uis and not create issues such as gay mariage (who really cares)

I'm sure that you can understand that when Palin speaks, only idiots listen. She is only surpassed in her "make it up, pretend it's true, say it's so" logic habit by someone who doesn't realize they are setting themselves up for a retort like "takes one to know one." LOL

    B) Dumb and Dumber?

Eric in Denver – you can call me anything you want. I could care less, but you still didn't give me one single thing or thought that this woman (or the repug party for that matter) that tells us what they are going to do to "turn things around" and "take their country back".
When you can come back and tell me please do so.

  21. Randolph Carter, I'm no expert but...

All of this petty politicing is contrived to keep us divided into us and them. It's just a distraction so that the people don't realize that global capitalism is busy stripping wealth from the working class and the rapidly diminishing middle class and concentrating it in the hands of the few. They use the illusions of participatory democracy, the "free" market and social mobility to keep us docile while the Wall Street puppeteers pull all the strings. It goes without saying that the media is complicit in all of this. They are just as easily bought as our politicians (on both sides of the aisle). I take solace in the fact that such a system is, ultimately, doomed to collapse. Perhaps this will be the decade where people finally realize how badly they're being used. Or perhaps not. Keep maintaining the status quo by voting for "real Americans", fellow consumerbots, and your situation will be even worse at the end of this decade than it is now. Have a nice decade!

I hope the top republicans really don't think this is good for their party. Palin is the most polarizing person they could have speaking at anyones rally. She will only cause the independents and democrats to rally together again to ensure that she and her philosophy of hate, racism, and religious fanaticism and those who follow her remain the minority. Keep up the good work Palin. The democratic party is counting on you.

This woman goes from rally to rally with the same old hateful rhetoric , whinning about this and that but provides nothing in the way of real solutions. Lets not forget this is a woman that could even work with her own party. You almost want to say Hey, if it's so bad in this country, do us a favor and leave. She may wow some people but quite frankly I look for more out of people I vote for. It really seems shes more interested in lining her pockets rather than solving real problems. Her quiting in mid term was all the proof I needed.

A bunch of people carrying protest signs against the Govmnt and the Administration in one hand, while the other hand grabs the "hand-outs" (what they call them) from the Social Security , Medicare/Medicaid, all Govmnt social programs.
    Utterly hypocritical.
Like Bachmann, who gets subsidies from the Govmnt for her farms....gimme a break, Ladies. Leave politics and get a reality TV show or smth...
