(CNN) - Linda Douglass, a top spokeswoman on health care for the Obama administration, said Thursday she is leaving her post.

"It has been a tremendous honor to serve the President, and leaving this great team is bittersweet," she said in a statement. "After nearly 2 years of work that has been exhilarating and grueling in equal measure, I am going to step off the treadmill for awhile and rediscover the experience of dining with my husband on a regular basis. It has been a privilege to be part of the health care team, and I will be cheering with pride from the sidelines as this historic law takes effect."

Douglass, a former ABC News correspondent, joined then-Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign in 2008 and went to work for the administration after Obama was elected.

White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer said Douglass "will continue to be a valued advisor to this President and this White House."

GOP and anyone who supports them are homegrown, domestic terrorists in the same category as Timothy McVeigh.

    Another disillusioned one leaving...
On the campaign trail Obama chanted "change, change, change." I think it was more like "CHAINS, CHAINS, CHAINS, the way he has bound us up in the socialistic Health Care Bill, not to mentions decades of deficits. He's definitely not the same person who ran for office.

I must say the bigots on the left are really showing their ugly heads today! They have spent so much time, energy and money on distortion they have no idea what the real truth is. Where were all you big mouths when BHO was spending us down the toilet with all of his unfunded wars, tax of the rich the rich and prescription coverage for seniors. Oh, that's right is was a left wing idea and those are always OK.

Well she finished the job. And she was very credale. Can't believe the morons who keep acting like she jumped ship. Two years is a pretty good run in washington unless you are going for political office. Job well done.

I am an Independent, so I take no sides. There MAY be more to her resignation than wanting to go home and have dinner with hubby. But, I sure won't find the answer here in these comments! In business, this usually means she disagreed with the boss. Maybe? Maybe not?

It's no coincidence that most of the hate-monger & wack-job posts on here have spelling errors. Way to go consertatives–I dont even have to argue with you because your grammar explains it all. "November diaster" soul spelled "sole" (that's the bottom of a shoe FYI), "hang you head in shame," and "Is that fair" posed with far too many exclamation points. That's a question. You should use a question mark. For further instructions refer to a 3rd grade teacher...nevermind, W. made sure that No-Child-Left-Behind worked to effectively destroy American public education. Have fun at your racist tea-party with your golden calf Palin. The rest of us will continue to try and repair the monstrous damage your party caused.

You Conservatives on here really are a piece of work. The man does something to put money in your pockets and insure your family has health care coverage, and you deride the man. The Republicans use you, because they have no choice, and you haven't the faintest clue they are doing it. Pathetic.

Congratulations to the whole team. I wish it had gone further; I wish it had come with more pay as you go clarity; but, I glad we have something.
Enjoy the time off, charge the batteries, and come back for round two.
