New Orleans (CNN) – Though it's a hot topic among GOP insiders at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans, none of the event's speakers had uttered a word about the Republican National Committee's disastrous decision to spend money at a sex-themed Hollywood nightclub.
Until Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal finally broke the ice on Friday – albeit in a coy way.
Jindal took to the stage and welcomed conference-goers to New Orleans. He told them to "enjoy our great food, our great music, our great culture."
Then this: "A word of warning to RNC staffers: You may want to stay away from Bourbon Street," he said. "Just a word of advice."
The joke drew laughter and applause from the crowd.

Ah! If it isn't the brightest and best of the GOP *all fired up* and *ready to go* . . . flushing themsleves down the drain as the losers they all are!
the repubicans and their tea party buddies are making themselves look stupid– hateful, and racist especially when the news media scans the crowd with them holding their signs, yelling, and downright appearing ugly. the comments and speeches that spew out of their mouths make them look more like the morons they are. why don't they all just go away....especially palin and michelle...especially michelle. i can still picture her in my mind leaning over the railing at the congress building looking like a hateful monster when the health care bill pased. one could even feel the hate? what's wrong? can't stand a black man accomplishing anything for our country. just hope the rest of us americans begin to see the light.
"Behave"? Sounds like a nanny-state to me. Hypocrite.
Glad to see that spending American's hard earned dollars on strip bars is funny to republicans.
Weird isn't it that when Katrina hit that State the Republicans did even know the State exsisted now they go there to have their Southern Republican convention.......that just shows you what two faced morons they are.......and you can bet the Old White Men will be down there on Bourbon Street taking in all the boobs they can see.......probably spending some of that GOP Donated money on some street Hookers too.....Palin (if they pay her enough might even do a few lap dances in the windows along Bourbon Street......
lol, what's the fun of going to NO if you can't hit up Bourbon Street? That'd be like going to Vegas and no Strip!
Vitter must be the most popular adulterer at this Republican convention of family-values hypocrites.
CNN the "non bias" network
I could care less. He was just trying to water down their shame. Good luck with that.
Tell people a hurricane is coming, get out of town on buses that are supplied,ONLY IGNORANT ENTITLEMENT DEMOCRATS WOULD STAY and then cry for Washington to take care of them AGAIN AS USUAL.
Poor Jindal... He actually thinks he has a chance to rise in the Republican party.
Instead of Bourbon Street, Sen. Vitter will show them how to dress in diapers and where to pick up hookers.
Webster's Dictionary defines "Double Standard" as: Liberals who give Republicans a hard time about being human.
Anytime a Liberal goes out and gets ****-faced and/or caught with a prostitute, oh! It's time to circle the wagons! After all, that's no one else's business....why it's their private life!
Losers, all of you! People are people and a bound to be stupid. Having a D or an R next to the name (as hard as this is for me to admit) is not indicative of intelligence.
Have a nice day
RNC money is not taxpayer money. Political parties can not levy taxes to fund themselves. So the idea that they are spending "the hard earned money of Americans" is only partially correct. They are spending money they have received from private donors. If you have never contributed any money to the RNC then you have nothing to worry about.
The Republicans have the gall to show up in New Orleans?
After the way they handled Katrina?
And with another destructive hurricane Sarah Palin?
Jindal has never had a job that wasn't either an appointment or an elected position. He is totally removed from reality.....which makes him a poster boy for the GOP.
By the way....I hope our visitors DO go into the Quarter....they're sure to run into Sen. David Vitter in the seedier section.
New Orleans-elect to ride out a hurricane and then want to be taken care of after being warned- ONLY IN THE LAND OF THE DEMOCRATS.Then after being stupid, blame your ignorance on a Republican.
I think what Jindal meant to say was, "Please whatever you do, don't get caught."
llona Kase, you are a smart and well read woman and I hope you forwarded Palin your remarks because clearly she doesn't know the past or the present of her own Republican party's history.
I am somewhat surprised by the people calling Jindal a fool. He graduated at the age of 20 from Brown University with a double major in Public Policy and Biology. Then he went to Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar earning a Masters in Political Science. I would certainly compare his education credentials favorably against the President's Harvard degrees. I do not understand the mindset of people who, when referring to anyone with differing political viewpoints, feel compelled to resort to ad-hominem attacks.
I'm surprised the citizens of New Orleans didn't issue a "warning" of their own to the Party of NO HELP FOR AMERICA!
Aware, just how much of your brain was removed during that lobotomy? I can tell your limbic system (Reptile Brain) is intact but that' seems to about it.
The Republicans have provided more jobs in strip bars for $1987 than NObamie has with $862,000,000,000.
"aware, you are no more an independant than I am King of France"
And you're no more me than I am you. If you had a brain in your head, you'd knwo that I never refer to this Indian version of Don Knotts as anything other than "Booby Jingle." Keep trying tho...you're getting a little better at it.
BTW: "GOPers" has one P.
How very brave of Republicans to return to the scene of the crime. Maybe they should have Vitter show them around.
