Palin an issue in Kentucky

Trey Grayson, who will face Rand Paul in the Kentucky GOP Senate primary, said Wednesday that Sarah Palin is not qualified to be president.

Trey Grayson, who will face Rand Paul in the Kentucky GOP Senate primary, said Wednesday that Sarah Palin is not qualified to be president.

Washington (CNN) - On the same day Sarah Palin rallied cheering Tea Party crowds in Boston, she was also causing a stir hundreds of miles away - in Kentucky.

At issue is a contentious Kentucky Senate primary battle that pits Secretary of State Trey Grayson against Rand Paul, a physician and the son of former GOP presidential candidate and Texas Rep. Ron Paul.

Palin has already weighed in on the race, endorsing Paul and donating money to his campaign.

But Grayson apparently doesn't think the endorsement counts for much: On Wednesday, Grayson said the former Alaska governor is not qualified to be president.

Grayson was asked during an editorial board meeting with the Louisville Courier-Journal, "Is Sarah Palin qualified to be president of the United States?" His reply: "Not today."

He went on to point out that Palin was qualified to be vice president in 2008. "I think she had the position to be vice president, but she wasn't running for president," Grayson said. "I thought Sen. McCain was the best candidate to be president in the last election."

A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Tuesday indicates that President Barack Obama would top the former Alaska governor by double digits in a possible 2012 general election showdown, and that Palin comes in third in a hypothetical horserace for the next GOP presidential nomination.

Mr Grayson – Sarah Palin is not qualified to be anything other than the ignorant blowhard rightwing paranoid lunatic she is. I agree with you.

What's this? An honest Republican? Is this a new mega trend? Will Palin go back to Moose Dressing and disappear in the Alaskan Wilderness? Hopefully, all these things will come to pass. Otherwise, the Republicans can pass on the 2012 election, RIGHT NOW.

This is getting ridiculous, using Palin as a litmus test. Look, everyone knows that she's an airhead and a money-grubber, a mooch who took money from Alaska for herself and her family, and a liar extraordinaire.

Palin’s handlers also know that there are a lot of dummies in this country who are as stupid and shallow as she is.

How cynical and pathetic the Republican party has become! They are really scraping the bottom of the barrel by using the likes of Palin to rustle-up votes.

But then again, what do you expect from a Party that has nothing to offer the American people except tried-and-failed economic, military and foreign policies?

When the President of the United States becomes a figurehead, like the mayor of Wasilla, or even the Governor of Alaska, then maybe, just maybe, our lil beauty queen can qualify. I do not, however, think that her failure to complete even one term in the governor's igloo will be forgotten.

    Not before.

I hate to sound like an idiot. . .but being qualified to be Vice President also requires being qualified to serve as President if need be. No!?

    Am I crazy!?!?

Palin is proving to be nothing but a boat anchor around the ankles of the GOP, and any Republican politician who dares to align themselves with her.

I really think that Palin is getting so much press that it makes me sick. She is not qualified for ANYTHING. Look at the type of mother she turned out to be. JD

  15. Albert R. K. Imagine Palin writing the launch codes on the palms of her hands.

After McCain finally figured out Palin is a total ditz, he still tried to salvage his campaign by hiding her from the press even if it meant that a ditz would be only an old man's heartbeat away from writing the nuclear launch codes on the palms of her hands. That is why McCain, and Palin are qualified to be president. This guy, with his illogical logic that Palin was qualified to be VP in 2008, but not to be Pres "today" makes about as much sense as Palin's "retard" double standard, therefore, he is also not qualified to hold public office! Is this the best the GOP has?

Good luck to you ,Mr. Grayson , for speaking the truth.

Does anyone really think a 1/2 Governor is qualified to be President?

"hypothetical horserace"... yes, that's all we know [right now] and we can always theorize until the future becomes the present. How many things can be "theorized" before actually becoming "fact"? How many "pronosses" have become forgotten fodder? NOBODY in their right mind would think Palin was good at ANYTHING besides being a speaker for inciding hate. She is "pretty" but, looks fade and wisdom SHOULD overcome. She needs to go away. Her 15 minutes of "fame" is over and she has milked it for all it is worth. (Can you say $$$?) Maybe we can move on to more pressing things in America instead of revolving around this Palin lady. She is a diversion from what we need to be looking at in this century. It is SAD that she has become the focus and attention of the media. I guess there ARE slow news days...

Huh? So nevermind the whole 'if the President is incapacitated or dies in office, then the VP will assume the position' thing....Just give Palin the job and cross your fingers that the President doesn't die?!?!....How stupid!...Palin WAS NOT QUALIFIED TO BE THE PRESIDENT, VICE PRESIDENT OR THE GOVERNOR OF ALASKA, since she couldn't seem to handle that either and quit.

Aint that true! But she won't run in 2012, she's making a killing from public speeches for the neo-cons.

And now it begins. First her 3rd place straw poll finish to Romney and Paul, and now a top Republican in Kentucky admits she is not qualified. Maybe Republicans are getting smarter. Finally.

Of course Palin is not qualified to be president. She's not qualified to be on TV, nor give a valid opinion on anything. She may think she is qualified, the only thing she maybe qualified for is to work in a supermarket. Though, that maybe a stretch as supermarket employees need to have proper communication skills which Palin obviously lacks.

Oh brother. All the liberals on here will suddenly be huge Grayson fans showing how stupid and blind and party driven you morons actually are. Nobody should support this slime ball, its clear he's just a sour camper because Palin didn't support him.

Isn't it wonderful that Sarah Palin i now endorsing a candidate in Kentucky. Just how much does she know about Kentucky and the citizens who live there.

Interlopers should stay in their own states and let the people living in the state to determine who shall represent them.

Palin and her 12 million dollars is tasteless. She do not have any skills nor can she articulate. Whoever paid her that must be desperate and surely feel disenfranchise. It is shameful to every hard working talented person in this country.
