Palin rallies Tea Partiers in Boston

(CNN) - Venturing to a Democratic stronghold, Sarah Palin praised Tea Party activists in Boston, Massachusetts, on Wednesday for "shaking up" the U.S Senate last January by helping elect Republican Scott Brown.

"Boston, if anybody knows how to throw a tea party it is you," Palin told a raucous crowd of activists that sprawled across the Boston Common.

Brown, who won the seat long held by the late Sen. Ted Kennedy, was notably absent from the event - a fact that generated snickering from some Tea Party opponents who question how much sway the grass-roots movement actually holds, especially in a Democratic state like Massachusetts.

But Tea Party Express leader Mark Williams told the crowd that he's happy the newly-elected senator is in Washington doing the job he was elected to do. Massachusetts is a "a blue-collar, working-stiff state ... we're reclaiming it for America," he added.

Meanwhile, Palin's 20-minute speech hit on many of the same themes that she has hammered during several recent appearances before Tea Party and Republican activists: high taxes, government spending, and spiraling deficits.

"We see what is on the horizon; we see what is at stake here," she said. "We are sending a message to Washington that come November, that big government, big debt, Obama-Pelosi-Reid spending spree … we are voting them out, we are gonna tell them, 'you're fired.'"

"Americans now spend 100 days out of the year working for government before they even start working for ourselves," she also said. "It is time to remind [politicians] that government should be working for us, we should not have to work for the government."

Palin said she is not calling the Obama administration "un-American."

"But the results are un-American," she said of the White House's policies. "If this is what their change is all about, I want to tell them, 'Nah, we'll keep clinging to our guns and religion and you can keep the change.'"

Palin's speech follows a similar appearance last week before the Southern Republican Leadership Conference. She also recently attended a Tea Party event in Searchlight, Nevada, the hometown of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, a Democrat locked in a close re-election fight.

Palin is a spokesperson for the worst parts of America- the ignorance, the hate, the xenophobia. It's truly disappointing to hear her fear-mongering.

I sure commend Ms Palin's courage but not her faceless outright untruths against President Obama and his government. If Palin is honest about government uncontrolled spending why was she and is she not revisiting the wreckless waste of money and lives in Iraq for all the hot air balloon reasons for invading a sovreign state, Palin calls "Airaq". The public will take Sarah serious when she is honest enough to praise the government's accomplishments and vigorously critisizes the government's failures. She lied about Obama's efforts at managing nuclear proliferation. Thanks to CNN for reminding Palin that it was late President Reagan who declared the noble ambition of eliminating nuclear weapons. For now Palin is only preaching to her choir members (what we may call playing politics). She still calls President Obama "community organizer'. By extrapolation, the community Obama is now organizing is the US and US affairs. Managing the affairs of US in this very difficult times is not a mean accomplishment by any measure. I wonder how the energetic lady who quit her job as Alaska (community) governor is still calling the President of the United States a community organizer. It is about time someone gets real.

    Hey CNN Posters –

Just got through the ticker on Sarah Palin's PAC and could not believe the number of comments regarding her PAC spending $9,000 more than it brought in – and how this proves how incompetent she is.

    OKAY.

Hillary Clinton's campaign ran $10 MILLION in deficit... or over 1000 times that of Sarah PAC. Yet you tout her as "one of the brighest women in the world".

You can't have it both ways... and you can't make this stuff up.

Never understood the issue with the Republicans claiming "we're going to take back our country???"

    From who??? The Germans???

Wasn't it 'their country' that got us in the financial bind we're in now???

Mr Mark Williams should not be allowed to drive on the roads of this country that tax monies are responsible for building and upkeep, maybe he should move to another country, though his white sheet and pointy dunce cap won't have the same meaning

In keeping with the name they usurped from US history, they should all throw themselves into the river afterwards! Maybe then the "gub'ment" won't ignore them.

In "reclaiming America" they always lose me- I didn't know America was lost or that it had somehow disappeared from Planet Earth. THEY lost an ELECTION- America was never lost. These folks are pathetic.

Sarah Palin, should start to creating ideals for how the country will get back on it's feet, not always criticising all the work of the Obama Adminstration – please do this for God sake.

"Half Gov. Palin" is in Boston preaching her own style of hate and evil and speaking out against the tax increases. She think we should reduce taxes. How does she propose we pay down our debt? Does she realize that Social Security is not a failed expirement? It is almost broke because Congress borrowed from it's trust fund and left IOU's against the advice of economist. Medicare is about broke because much of it's prescription policy was passed without funding. Banks are going broke because back in the 60's and 70's Republican Presidents removed checks and balances regulations that were in place to prevent banks from running wild with greed. Well they did.

This woman needs to read some. In fact she would do herself a world of good if she just went hunting for wolves in a chopper with a half a tank of fuel.

Sarah Palin is smart to make 12 million dollars from the Tea Baggers in 7 months since she left Alaska. Now she can have a really nice wardrobe.

Someone should ask her what specific policies she is referring to.

The Teabagger's base is low information voters. The kind of people who believe what Rush, Beck, and this fatuous woman, Palin, spew.

I wonder how long it will take all these angry nut jobs to turn on each other. They have yet to articulate ANY realistic and mature position on ANYTHING and you can't run a country on negativity. I think democracy is just too complicated and 'hard' for these flat-earthers. So much easier to complain and hate than do the hard work, including doing your homework. If they think a shallow narcissist like Gov. Bailin' is the answer, then they just haven't been paying attention. She is completely out for her$elf.

Sorry Sarah, the Boston Tea Party was about English Taxation on tea, while the current tea party you support is a direct attack on civil and human rights. While Sarah is on the East Coast, she might want to visit Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. By the way, what did Sarah offer the people of Boston in the way of job creation ideas? Sarah wants to take away the unemployment funds that currently support those hardest hit in the Boston Area. The latest polls show Sarah a distant third for Republicans, which makes her a long-shot for VP in 2012. If you are poor and out of work, maybe you could make over $20 million making hate speeches, as Sarah Palin has done since telling the voters of Alaska to "kiss off", she needed to make more money. Greed is alive and well in America.
