Washington (CNN) - The White House announced Thursday that veteran Democratic strategist Stephanie Cutter will lead communications and outreach strategy efforts for the implementation of the new health care reform law.

Cutter will oversee what is expected to be a significant campaign to build public support for the law, which Republicans have vowed to repeal if voters put them back into power in the 2010 midterm elections.

"Stephanie is one of the most respected professionals in public affairs and has an innate understanding of the nexus between policy and communications," President Obama said in a statement. "She's also a veteran of the White House, and I'm thrilled to have her on board in this new role."

Cutter, who will hold the title of assistant to the president for special projects, has been tapped by the Obama administration for similar senior messaging roles in the past. Most recently, she helped first lady Michelle Obama launch the "Let's Move" initiative to combat childhood obesity and also served as counselor to Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner. During the 2008 presidential campaign, Cutter was the chief spokesperson for the Obama-Biden transition and was Michelle Obama's chief of staff. During John Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign, she served as communications director.

Cutter is expected to serve at the White House for a short term and then return to the strategic communications firm she founded, The Cutter Media Group LLC.

"Cutter is expected to serve at the White House for a short term and then return to the strategic communications firm she founded, The Cutter Media Group LLC."

Meaning she is going to lie for the administration for a while then go back and lie as the head of her firm.

If this is such a great bill, why not have the losers that crafted it EXPLAIN IT?

Nah, it is way simpler to fool the sheep with a professional BS'er, kind of like Owebama.

Hey Barry, did you enjoy the 5 MILLION in donations from that evil Wall Street and especially the 1 Million dollar kiss from G-sachs?

How about their new lawyer who JUST LEFT YOUR ADMIN and he is now on their team, what happened to "Not having anything to do with the WH for at least TWO years once they leave"?

Just add it too the lies of the liar in chief.

Just so I understand, we're now going to spend even more money on health care so that people feel good about its passage??

PR firms....when someone needs to LOOK good in front of the camera, Cutter is the one to call. Please, not all of us fall for that kind of PR manipulation. Who is paying for all this?

"Cutter will oversee what is expected to be a significant campaign to build public support for the law"

So, let me guess, who's paying for this....the taxpayer! Does this administration EVER get tired of WASTING OUR MONEY! If Obama ever held a real job and knew what it was like to worry about where the next nickel was coming from, maybe, just maybe, he would be a little more thrifty with our money.

  5. Dad of a Diabetic

Keep it simple and make it a moral issue. Should a 6 year old girl with cancer or type 1 diabetes be able to get health insurance today, and should she be able to get health insurance in the future when she becomes a young woman with type 1 diabetes or cancer, if she survives???

You can dress it up, spin it up, shove it up, but it is still
a 'Skunk', almost as smelly as the wheelers and dealers who crafted it.

Stinks to high heaven, let us hope the stench doesn't rub off on Stephanie.

No sure why public support is important now. It sure wasn't important during debate, when the public was overwheimingly against the healthcare Bill. Now since it is law they now care for public support?

You can dress this pig up any way you want to and put as much makeup on it as you want but it's not going to change what it is.And like a cheap hooker it's going to cost a lot either with what you get up front or the hidden charges to come later !!!!

  14. Own The Message Democrats ... sheezz

It would appear that the Democrats have finally learned a valuable lesson .... they must win the Bumper Sticker War with the GOP.

The GOP was given time to have a free reign to lie about the Healthcare Insurance Reform bill. The Democrats can NEVER trust the Republicans to engage in an HONEST debate about ideas with an eye toward improving pending legislation.

Only when the Democrats have won the Public RElations war, as they did on Wall Street Reform, will the Republicans finally bend to the will of the people and participate in a bi-partisan manner.

And what is this "olden days" crap from this NV woman anyway? I mean, we know the GOP is working very hard to return us to the 1800's, but does she not realize that in the "olden days" doctors slapped leaches on everything and cut off anything they couldn't fix? Newsflash: it's called progress you drool-bib wearing morons.

Ms. Cutter sounds like an excellent choice. Notice how Pres. Obama, like John Kennedy, FDR, Lincoln and other great presidents, has the ability to choose highly talented people and delegate key assignments to them. That is the mark of a strong manager!

Communicating the truth of this Health care bill is important to Americans to hear. Insurance Companies will no longer be able to refuse coverage because of pre-existing conditions, drop coverage when we get sick and will take 1.3 TRILLION dollars off the defecit in the first 10 years. The LIES of FOX news and the GOP against this bill is not practicing their freedom of speech right, IT'S TREASON

  19. OBOZO IS AN IDIOT

    Let me get this straight.

The GOVT is going to spend our TAX DOLLARS (increasing DEFICIT) to put togehter an AD (or Marketing) Campaign to try to sell us on something (that the Majority of the USA doesn't want).

OBOZO, the ulimate used car salesman is at it again.

Well, KING OBOZO, we're not BUYING the crap you are SELLING anymore. Go talk to some of your IDIOTIC Liberal pals who continue to drink the Koolaid.

There has been so many lies told. So much propaganda against the Healthcare Bill that will save American lives, I applaud President Obama for making sure the TRUTH is out there also.

45,000 Americans die every year because they do not have healthcare, and now that Healthcare will be available the Republicans want to take it away!

Oh boy. Obama's team is going to tell me how great a deal Obamacare is going to be for me.
NO JOB, NO CAR, NO HOUSE and no relief in sight. But if you have children and still have healthcare ins you can cover them until they are 26. That is really good news. They may be hungry and sleep on the street but they could stay on my ins. policy, if I had one.
The unions, auto man. banks and Wall Street are making record profits.
The middle class has been raped by the government and now Obama is trying to make them believe that it is a good thing.
With the media pushing the sales job I guess some will agree. Those getting the bailouts and the handouts will and the rest can pay the bill.

  24. Gee

the liberals still haven't been able to explain why they have to continue to try to sell this stinky bill if it is so great for the American people. They spout that the conservatives have spread lies and mis-information, however anyone that takes the time to look into it ends up thinking the bill is crap, is unconstitutionnal and too expensive. Its been about the liberals trying to buy votes by giving the entitlement crowd in this country something for nothing.......Yuck!
