In Eugene, Palin says she eats granola too

Palin addressed a Republican fundraiser in Eugene, Oregon Friday.
Palin addressed a Republican fundraiser in Eugene, Oregon Friday.

(CNN) – Making light of the fact she was in one of America’s liberal bastions Friday night, Sarah Palin told attendees at an event in Eugene, Oregon she eats granola and organic food just like residents there do.

Speaking at the Lane County Republican's annual Lincoln Day Dinner, a major fundraising event for the organization, Palin told the crowd she’s more like people in Eugene than one might think.

“I eat granola. I eat a lot of organic food. I have to shoot and catch a lot of my organic food before I eat it,” the former Republican vice presidential nominee joked, according to the Oregonian.

Palin’s remarks also included the red meat jabs at Democrats that have become characteristic of her speeches this year, telling the crowd its OK for Republicans to be the “Party of No.”

"When the other party's wrong, we stiffen our spines," She told a crowd numbering 900, according to the Oregonian. "Why not be the party of not just no, but hell no.”

The fact that Sarah Palin continues to be in the news is easy to understand. History shows us that there will always be the one-hit wonders who manage to garner interest for a short period of time. Look at Kate Goselin who has managed to secure the same type of following because of her looks and abrasive personality. It speaks not too highly of those followers who somehow ignore what's really behind the media production put in front of them. Ms. Palin continues to be nothing more than an enigma that slowly fade away......the sooner the better!

So, let me get this straight, Eating granola and organic foods makes Sarah Palin a what? I'm sure that she thinks that if she throws a few "you betchas" into her speechs and winks at the guys, then all of the lies and distortions we have heard from her are all forgiven! She is an idiot......plain and simple and nothing will EVER CHANGE THAT FACT!

In case no one noticed, there was very little opposition to her in liberal Eugene, because they are smart enough to realize that Palin is not important. It was not worth their time to miss work or playing with their children, to make a sign and complain to this moron who thinks she knows everything, yet has yet to offer a solution to anything at all. It is very easy to throw stones at the other side...much harder to run a state or a country, especially in hard economic times. So, as usual, Palin takes the easy way out, and plays the victim and the sarcastic know-it-all, while saying little of substance. What do these people like about her? Bravo, Eugene, for keeping this small woman out of your spotlight. There are bigger fish to fry.

As females, we are responsible for producing human beings. I do not believe for one second that we are afraid of this woman, but are very concerned that she can not be cloned. We nuture those that we give life to and watch very carefully to ensure that other females are not a replication of her. By the way her talking points come from the leaders of Freedom Works. Ironic.

it is so telling that Palin was whining yesterday about how awful it is, and you know, illegal and everything, for a person to hack an email account, when she herself has done it. Such a fine upstanding citizen, not to mention her wonderful parenting skills...made any deals with the Alaska law enforcement lately, Princess Sarah?

Nikki, are you serious? Palin is brilliant? OMG wake up. ( I can see Russia from my house) I love when Palin speaks because she never makes any sense. Believe me she doesn't make liberals shake in their boots, she makes them dance with joy because of her stupidity.

    Lincoln Day Dinner, huh?

    Such hypocrisy.

Which side would Sarah (and secessionist Todd) be on in Lincoln's day? Union or Confederacy?

Just because Fox tells all you weak people that "the left is afraid of Sara" doesn't make it true. In reality if Fox states something as fact you are better off betting the opposite is true.
To all you tea-baggers – the only ones afraid of your sista-Sara are the Repub establishment because she and her supporters are driving the "Party of No" into oblivion. And you all have no clue because Fox media is distracting you with their network of babbling MLFs and bobble-heads.

    SARAH PALIN QUOTE:

    – – – – –
Can some one tell me what two-legged or four-legged creature is an 'organic food' that requires shooting before you eat it? I thought the term "organic foods" originated in 1939 when Lord Walter Northbourne the 4th coined the phrase to define his method for raising agricultural crops without the use of chemicals.

I wonder if she doesn't get tired repeating herself over and over and over--. It's all condemnation and no input on how she will do things differently. When will this idiot realise that she is darn stupid ?

If Americans could elect George Bush, twice, to be their representative, what is wrong with other sub par personalities from aspiring for the same? She may actually be able to pronounce more words than him.

Being ill-informed, uneducated, and inarticulate is not a policy. Sloganeering is not a policy and is not governance. Palin offers absolutely nothing substantive and anyone who is even remotely a thinking person can do nothing but recoil from the thoughtlessness she peddles to the masses.

To: Kljtb & Niki...It is certainly your right to support whomever you like. It says a lot about your judgement and taste, but again, it's your right. I want to ask both of you, what has the republican party done for Americans? What program has been put on the table from these folks of not NO, but Hell NO?
Both of you and many like you are apparently anti-Obama, but one thing you cannot denie, he has gotten things done no matter if you and your group call him a Communist, a Radical, a Socialist. These are the politically correct labels you and your like minded friends have used this past year. We all know what you would really like to call him publicly, but even you neanderthals know better.
Sarah Palin is playing all you for the jokes and jokers you are, all the way to the bank. Glen Beck not long ago was a pretty decent guy until he discoverd there is more money to be made being a right wing idiot.
Sarah Palin to be honest does not know jack sh– about world affairs or domestic issues. She talks from notes written on her hand, and says things that disgruntle people like you want to hear.
But gain, we will see if your way of thinking will prevail in November.

    To idesign,

    You said:

"By golly we’ve got a lot of deranged liberal comments from the venom spewing left. I just love how the simple mention of her name drives you folks completely insane. So much for the party of tolerance. You people are a joke….."

What a brilliant post! You're correct. The left has cornered the market on hate speech. Conservatives like Limbaugh, Beck, Coulter and Savage speak out of love and tolerance. LOL. By golly, look in the mirror and see who the real joke is.

I think this country has had about enough of liars, hypocrites, politicians that can't make up their minds about anything, changes horses in mid stream. Palin is an absolute dead head. There is a cartoon about her in a certain magazine, the cover page depicts her and with large bold letters "BLUNDER WOMAN" and costumed in the old Wonder Woman costume of comic book fame. The title fits Palin to a "T"

I still cannot believe that there are people in this country who think that this woefully unqualified woman could be president. She is a quitter, she is mean, really mean and she is possesses a prejudice that most of us thought died out over the years.

Hiki: Liberals don't really shake in their boots over Sarah, we shake our heads that anyone with two working brain cells would consider this woman presidential timber. We worry what will happen to the country we love – yes we love it – if this woman somehow bamboozles enough people into voting for her that she actually becomes president. *shudder*

I don't know which is funnier. Sarah Palin's comments or the comments of her supporters. Please know that we are laughing AT you, not with you. Trust me when I tell you that as a liberal, I am crossing my fingers that you nominate this galactic dimwit as the Republican Presidential nominee in 2012.

She's an ideological proxy. She represents what conservatives want her to represent, and also does the same, for different reasons, for the left. She's sort of an empty vessel in this regard.

    Big deal.

She still doesn't offer any substantial political ideas and doesn't seem to have that ability. She could no more earn the republican presidential nomination than Ted Nugent.

And if she did, the only ones that would be happy after the election would be the Democrats.

No one is "scared" of Palin, believe that.
