(CNN) - Police arrested Illinois Rep. Luis Gutierrez at an immigration rally outside the White House on Saturday.

Gutierrez, a Democrat, was among a group of protesters arrested by police in front of the White House.

The protesters wore T-shirts that read, "ARREST ME NOT MY FAMILY" and "ARREST ME NOT MY FRIENDS."

I do not see any wrong doing by wearing Tshirts with such words. We have seen at the Tea Party rallies people carrying guns (while they are not going hunting), sensitive words of calling other people names, and no action was taken Is this really fair???

I support Rep. Luis Gutierrez and others that are protesting peacefully for immigration reform. It appears the government is not willing to do anything for the people that does not benefit them at the present. They don't seem to understand that they are not in Washington, DC in the Congress and Senate for their own good. We are having immigration problems that need to be addressed now. The proper time to do it is now and not on the schedule of the politicians. We are not here to serve them when they decide it is a good time to address an issue. They are there to serve us. It's all ok. Maybe while packing their bags, they will understand that November was not a good reminder of that fact but rather it was or will be a PINK SLIP MONTH for them all.

Now the congressmen are leading mob rule. Lawbreakers using mob action to demand that America change laws to suit their demands for amnesty, free welfare, housing, schools, no taxes, and no law enforcement. And a house Rep leading the charge.
Obama said that we are a notion of laws, Now is the time to show that he supports the law or the criminals.

I understand that this a hot issue, but it kills me that on the liberal side. they dont really want enforcement, the usa cant take in everyone. the reason why we had so many problems in iraq is because we dont have enough troops to fight our wars, just as we dont have enough federal agents to secure the borders and enforce immigration laws. i dont see a problem with allowing local and state police to assist the feds in this. we need to up date the constitution, no more birth by citizenship unless , the one of the parents is a citizen. and when it comes to civil rights its a totally different thing from what black americans went through. look what happened to japanese citizens during WW2. they were citizens and got rounded up and put on detention camps. whats happening in Arizona is that alot of people coming arent citizens. this will bankrupt us.

These pro-illegals really have a GINORMOUS chip on their shoulders.

    They are OBSESSED with RACE.

America is sick of FULL-TIME ETHNICS; we want Americans who like to follow the law as our leaders.

If Mr. Gutierrez feels that strongly that LAWS should not be followed, he should go and join the government in VENEZUELA where he would be welcomed by Mr. Chavez. In the United States, ALL AMERICANS, Hispanic or not, brown, black or white, need to follow the same laws.

You are right! I do not Understand! Why those of us who feel that people who deliberately and KNOWINGLY broke the laws of this country feel that that can protest the laws they scoff at. It is simple, IF YOU DID NOT ENTER THIS COUNTRY LEGALLY! YOU ARE A CRIMINAL! You have had a major detrimental effect on the legal residents of this country. You have taken jobs away from people that have been born here, you have lowered wages across the whole country and driven up the cost of living. We gave you amnesty the last time, Millions of you, we signed NAFTA so that you could have more of our jobs. We were told that if you had jobs (our jobs) that would stop the invasion. It didn't . The President of Mexico shows up to complain every time we try to do something about this mess. Why? Because of all the money earned illegally and sent home to Mexico supports that country. CAN YOU IMAGINE! THE LEADER OF A FOREIGN COUNTRY COMES HERE ON OUR SOIL TO TELL US WE ARE WRONG TO ARREST PEOPLE WHO HAVE BROKEN OUR LAWS AND INVADED OUR COUNTRY! You are right I do not understand.

I guess the police did not realize that under the 1st Amendment, all citizens have the Right to Peacefully Assembly and and petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Certainly, being a part of that Government, does not negate that essential Right.

What AZ passed, and others are considering, is an affront to all we hold dear. And those that support this piece of trash legislation have no concept at all what happens when police are afforded even more authority...how soon before "their" doors are broken down and "they" get arrested?

Well that sends a fine example for a Congressman. Good for the Police that they didn't let him go on this one. It just shows me that this man does not understand the word "Illegal" . He promotes illegal behavior which can get one arrested. again such a fine example. Also In NYC, Cnn intervies undocumnted worker from Peru living 6 years in states, going to city college. Now when asked how he is living he states he does odd jobs (hmmm bet he doesnt pay taxes) and CNN you should follow up to see if this individual is getting grant money to attend. This is what has got to stop!

Simply a shame, demonstrating the enforcement of a law of witch the Feds have yet enforced. Seal the boarder, end of story.

So, where is the Tea Party? MIA and this law in Arizona is a true Government take over of human rights and they are no where to be found. Where is Sarah Palin.... Oh....if they are not Tea Party people or people that want to pay to hear her speak, she is no where to be found.... Amazing and she calls herself the person for the people. I think she has become very selective as to who those people are.

Tea Party people are a joke.....

The racist Congressman got exactly what he deserved. He should be working for the American people instead of people who are in this country illegally. I am a quadriplegic and it is because of Congressman like him that people in wheelchairs and other serious illnesses less and less care because he wants to pass about to the illegals Mexicans who think they have a monopoly on being illegal in the United States.

Check the immigration status of the traitor Guti. You cry when states create laws and say it is for the feds to enforce immiigration law, but when the feds enforce the law you also cry.
If you don't like the laws go back to where ever you came from.

This leaves a very interesting story just hanging. For what was he arrested? Is he still in jail? What was his comments on his arrest? Were others also arrested?

There are a slew of questions and there are no answers. Where is the "MORE" tab?

    I want to know more!

What do people like this dirtbag Guiterrez want? Do they want Mexicans to just walk in and out of the country at will? There has to be some rule of law.
I'm sick of the violent minority taking over this country. We need our country back.

The constitution of the United States it was very clear, and with the rights, for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness: All men are created equal, at the time of the revolution. But, lots of people tent to forgotten that now. Our founding fathers, said it clear; but unfortunately the Republican Party, see the Latino race, like bad apples. And that’s not the case. We are proud to be who we are. All Hispanics, we need to be out from supporting the Republican Party!!!

luis Gutierrez really know how to show conduct unbecoming to a congressional representative perhaps its time to dismiss him from the burdens that has him so heavy laden (a representative for all of the people of Illinois not just the Latino people many of whom are ILLEGAL) It's time for him to leave congress and find other ways to support and defend absurd interpretations of our laws. clearly he is not qualified to represent all of the people in Illinois or the nation.

It is truly surreal to witness elected Democrats across the country defend the "right" of foreign nationals to flagrantly violate US law.

People have the tendency to criticize about illegal immigration. Is funny, that they tent to forgot, the fact that their entire ancestor and the founding fathers came to this land, to colonize. When, the Indians were already here. Furthermore, that congress, on the 1800’s passes a law, that approves that Native Americans to become citizens, what a non sense, and the balls to do something like that. It’s a laughable matter. But, all of sudden everybody brag about immigration, while, the killing of so many Native Americans, in order for white’s to grab all the land from their hands. By the way, Blacks were free at the beginning and the founders as well. But, all of you forgot that. When all your ancestors were exploited in England back then.
