Senator Blanche Lincoln faces a tough battle for a third term in office.

(CNN) – Early voting begins Monday in Arkansas' May 18 primary.

On the Democratic side, Sen. Blanche Lincoln faces a tough challenge from the left from Lt. Gov. Bill Halter. Lincoln is fighting for a third term in office.

On the Republican side, there are eight candidates battling for their party's nomination. Political handicappers consider the Senate seat a possible pickup for the GOP.

I Hope she loses. We need more true Democrats to get things done because of the actions of the fear/hate/obstructionist/purity Republicans and the so call "blue dogs" code for Republican which Lincoln is one.

No matter which Democrat wins the nomination........And, no matter which Republican wins the nomination........

Based on all polls-–the Republican wins whether it is Lincoln or Halter.

The majority of these voters are conservative leaning-–and they are no way going to vote to put Lincoln or Halter into the seat.

Blanche seems to be a class act.......unless you insist on "drill baby drill" in the gulf, and tax cuts for the rich, while the rest of the nation is shoved aside. Amazing how a lot of people want that mantra, but my guess is that they will check Blanche's name when their head clears.

Lincoln is the best the Democrats can hope for if they want to hold this seat.

    Deal with it folks: She's a moderate-to-conservative senator in a moderate-to-conservative state.
