Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama said Tuesday that "justice will be done" in the case of the attempted bombing at Times Square, and U.S. officials "will do everything in our power to protect the American people."

The failed bombing is "another sobering reminder of the times in which we live," the president told an audience of business leaders. But the United States "will be vigilant" and "will not cower in fear."

Faisal Shahzad, a 30-year-old Pakistani-American citizen, was arrested "for allegedly driving a car bomb into Times Square," the FBI said in a statement Tuesday.

Shahzad was arrested around 11:45 p.m. ET Monday at JFK International Airport, according to Attorney General Eric Holder, and will appear in a Manhattan federal courtroom after 2 p.m. Tuesday.

So do republicans think he should be tried in a military tribunal or in civilian court? I can't wait to hear the hypocrasy.

Funny how Obama won't call it what it is.....a terrorist attack on the United States of America on Obama's watch!

As far as.... "will do everything in our power to protect the American people." I feel more unsafe now with this administrations so called protection then I have ever felt "in my adult life."

  4. Focus, Mr. President!

Here's an idea....instead of focusing so hard on trying to politically spin the Tea Party movement into a need to watch organization that 'could' become violent (they're not, but hey, that's not good politics for the President since they're unhappy with his job performance), let's have the DOJ become focused on the REAL terrorists!! Heck, these guys have used the term 'terrorists' faster on the domestic front then they have on these guys!

As I stated previously in a post which was deleted, the media outlets, and certain members of the Obama Administration tried to link this attack to a random 40 year old white man and EPICALLY FAILED. They wanted to pin this on a white, male, right-wing, domestic terrorist in order to stop any and all dissent against the Policies of the Obama Administration. They have already lied about, made exaggerated unsubstantiated claims, and harrassed Tea Partiers in an attempt to restrict their free speech. How many real attacks have there been? Three. What common factor is present in all three cases? I'll give you a hint, its an ideology. I guess George Bush and his evil policies around the world aren't the cause after all. They must know that Barrack Hussein Obama has been in charge for the past 15 moths, mmm mmmm mmmmm.

I heard on the news this morning that the FBI pulled off 4 guys from the plane why? were they not sure who the guy was but isn't this racial profiling? I bet they were all of Middle Eastern descent. Don't get me wrong I am glad they did but why is it OK for our government to do this but no one else. They had fingerprints of the guy from the SUV and his name why didn't they just board the plane the airline knows where he is seated if they have assigned seating and if not they racial profiled by pullilng off 4 men that looked Pakistani. Hmm isn't that interesting.

Let's see, this guy just got back from visiting Pakistan and is a radical follower of Islam. Hey Janet and crew, Alert, Alert, Danger Will Robinson, Danger! Great after the fact police work, they were really on top of things as usual, probably afraid of the Obama network of progressive liberals and their political correctness concerns with regard to racial profiling....a bigger threat to America than the Taliban!

This guy was not a muslim and this was not an act of terroism. So there is no need to call him a Muslim terroist.
Probably a Tea Party member upset with Obamacare or that is the spin that the media is trying to push.

Justice has been totally perverted and corrupted in the US, so unless you plan to solve the problems with the judiciary, which I strongly doubt, then NO, justice will not be served.

Less than 18 months ago this administration said they would change how our intelligence community did business...and they did. Now in the past 6 months we have seen 2 terrorist plots that, but for the grace of God and brave actions by private citizens, would have killed hundreds of Americans. This administration has failed in it's primary function of keeping America safe.

By the Grace of God, President Obama and the people of the United States, this nation will be kept secure contrary to repuglican rhetoric! Repuglican have not even reealizeed the thwarted terrorsit plots against this nation that have been foiled and the many more terrorist leaders killed than President Bush or repulican idol "Ronald Reagan!" Repuglican lies, distortions, misinformation and smear campaign will not define President Obama, his legacy will be an historical one, and repuglicans will have to just "bite that bullet!"

Got this guy just in time. I wonder if he had been able to go overseas if we would have ever been able to bring him to justice. Good work, FBI, NYPD and all others involved in tracking this guy down in such a short period of time and arresting him. We should be extremely proud of our law enforcemand and Homeland Security teams. We are indeed fortunate in this Country to have so many good people watching our backs during this dangerous period in our history. We all need to be vigilant, just as those vendors on the streets in New York were. Thank you to them as well.

The guy was a naturalized American Citizen, He attempted to commit a crimminal action in an American City, question, is he a terrorist? Answer, who cares, he attempted an act of violence against individuals walking down the street in NYC, he belongs to civilian courts and civilian courts. Again is he muslim, again who cares, he's apparently the one that committed the act not his church.

It's about time that Americans understand what the rest of the world has know for years, your first line of defense against acts of violence to include act of terrorism, looks at you every morning in the mirror. And it worked in NYC of all places, if you see something out of place or something that does not look right, report it, go get a cop, if its nothing, then its nothing, but in that one cases where its is something, it makes the difference. Its called be aware of your surroundings. I feel perfectly safe walking down an American street as long as I stay out of bad areas of town and don't get mugged by a god fearing American.

Thank GOD they pulled a few FBI and police resources off of surveiling the Tea Partying grandmas just in time to catch this ISLAMIC TERRORIST. I know the Obama administration thinks their apology tour was a great success and that we are now loved by all.

I guess it going to take one of these clowns to actually succeed in killing Americans before they realize who we are really fighting?! Listening to that buffoon Gibbs hem and haw and struggle to utter the word TERRORIST leads me to believe that political correctness is winning.

Viewing the glass as half full for a moment, in the past 9 years the terrorists have gone from being able to kill 3000 people to comically incompetent attempts to cause harm. Can't we just take that as a win and good for America regardless of who's in office?

Hey, what about the media (CNN) reporting on the news on Sunday that the perpetrator had the wrong kind of fertilizer and should have used amonium nitrate! How stupid is that??!?!?? Just tell our enemies (even the ones from within) how to make a car bomb that actually will detonate!!!

How in the hell can you blame this on Obama? Get over it, he is our President. If he gets this guy convicted, then he did his job! If he starts a war that we can't pay for with two more countries, he is pulling a Bush..... And I haven't heard anyone from the Obama administration, blaming this a a forty year old tea bagger. If you guys are going to blurt out crap, make sure you don't get it from FOX news, because it is just that..... Crap! Get informed by a neutral news agency before you're making your own homemade bombs. Shut off Hannity, Limbaugh, and the devil himself Glenn (I'm a Mormon when I'm not lying my butt off) Beck.

Gee, yet another terriorist caught before escaping. Ya gotta wonder what negative crappola will drip out of Republicans mouths about this one. How about NO terror under Bushy and Dicky, forgetting yet again about 9/11 happening under their dynamic regime.
