Obama: Health care reform 'already delivering real benefits'

Washington (CNN) - President Obama wants you to know that the health care reform legislation, long fought over in Congress, is starting to deliver results.

"It has now been a little over a month since I signed health insurance reform into law. And while it will take some time to fully implement this law, reform is already delivering real benefits to millions of Americans," Obama said Saturday. "Already, we are seeing a health care system that holds insurance companies more accountable and gives consumers more control."

In the weekly White House address, Obama touts the closing of the prescription medication "donut hole" for seniors and a new provision that will allow young adults without their own insurance to stay on their parents' plan until the age of 26.

But Obama also emphasizes that not every provision of the new law has already been implemented.

"I've said before that implementing health insurance reform won't happen overnight, and it will require some tweaks and changes along the way. Ultimately, we'll have a system that provides more control for consumers, more accountability for insurance companies, and more affordable choices for uninsured Americans," Obama said.

For those of you complaining about your insurance costs going up, what do you think was happening before the bill was enacted? Its not the government doing this (the taxes haven't taken effect yet), its the insurance companies. They are screwing everyone, including the doctors (malpractive insurance is a rip off too!)

Are you smokin some of that California weed? Major businesses are thinking of dropping health care to employees and pay the fine (much cheaper). We have already gotten word that next year any additional costs to premiums will not be covered by our employer, it will be the responsibility of employees. Mr. Obama you are not listening to what the people want!
Healthcare, Immigration (secure our borders and protect us!) no ammesty for illegals, finance reform!

What is he talking about? The majority of the american people don't want this healthcare, so why is he still talking about it? He should be doing more for our borders, and "closing them" once and for all, so we don't get more people that want us dead............What about jobs? and of course he desarm our country more and more so others succeed on getting nukes and hurt us....He is so unqualified for the job......
