Washington (CNN) - Attorney General Eric Holder said Sunday that the Justice Department was considering a federal lawsuit against Arizona's new immigration law.
"We are considering all of our options," Holder said on the NBC program "Meet the Press." "One possibility is filing a lawsuit."
Possible grounds for the lawsuit would be whether the Arizona law could lead to civil rights violations, Holder said.
Such a lawsuit would be a waste of taxpayer dollars.
Don't we have better things on which to spend federal dollars?
The continual search for cheap labor by the wealthy has been a major reason for division in our country since before the Civil War and through today. Yet the wealthy will stand on the sidelines and let the uninformed do their dirty work.
You can sue a jelly sandwich but that dont mean your gonna win if the feds dont like this law instead of playing stupid games enforce the law that already stands .
Just like we are seeing with the storms in Tennessee. You are on your own when it comes to this administration if you aren't in the Democrat preferred class. People still haven't figured out Katrina devastated Mississippi. Or cared about the recent toronado damage there.
The immigration issue is a conspiracy of all presidents not just Obama its a dirty election topic and no one wants the dirt on there hands .
Why isn't anyone willing to address the systematic causes of immigration? NAFTA and other free trade agreements have allowed multi-national corporations to open sweatshops, pollute clean water supplies, and a bunch of other things that make it undesirable, if not impossible to live in certain countries. When someone has a family to feed, they will risk their life to cross the border so they can get some minimum wage job that sadly, pays better than what they would make back home. Why do people seem stuck on the idea of regulating immigrants and the poor without much interest in regulating the things that contribute to it?
(Sorry hit the enter key too soon)
Next we will address that "anchor baby' slur you Reds toss out so freely and want to deport. Again, check that esteemed(sorry again, uh, just get your 8 year old to Google it) document the Constitution. States ANYONE BORN WITHIN THE BORDERS OF THESE UNITED STATES IS A LEGAL AMERICAN CITIZEN regardless of whether the parents are or not. As such the 1 day old infant born to illegal parents has every right of LEGAL AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP as the folks that have been here for generation like my family(1636 to be exact) and therefore, cannot be DEPORTED anymore than one of your kids could be. So, to adhere to that rule get ready to pay for care for all the "orphans" left behind because they are LEGAL AMERICAN CITIZENS.
Sorry, to most for all the yelling, but I am trying to reach Reds that apparently have their heads stuffed so far up their own arse, they have hearing difficulties!
Holder said he is considering all options about the new Arizona law. Seems he is forgetting the most important option – enforcing his own federal laws so those living in Arizona don"t have to mirror his so they can protect themselves. How about Arizona sues them for dereliction of duty for ignoring the Governor's 5 letters with pleas for help trying to quell the importation of illegal drugs and weapons that are coming across the border. How about Holder treats them the same as everyone else now that goes to an airport and faces the scrutiny of a lifetime in order to protect everyone else's safety? How about the rights of those who have been placed on a no-fly list wrongly and can't get their name off for years if ever and face that struggle every time they fly? Funny how someone can be so concerned over a possible problem yet can't deal with existing problems! Arizona came up with a tough enforcement law against businesses employing illegals several yeas ago that people sued over yet it passed all court scrutiny, so why would we automatically assume that the Governor and lawmakers haven't taken as much care with this new law? The only thing I can think of is that Hispanics are a major democratic voting block, that this present Governor has an R after her name rather than a D, and trying to blur the difference between illegals and immigration is politically expedient for a further agenda.
As an Arizona citizen since 1978, I originally was against this law. My mind was changed by reading statements from Hispanic Americans who came here legally and become citizens. These people are teachers, social service workers, etc. They stated that the illegal immigrants have changed over the years. They come now, not to work, but to take advantage of the system. By having anchor babies, so that they can get food stamps, medical coverage, etc. Arizona passed a law, voted in by Arizonans, that anyone who is not an American citizen can not get food stamps or medical coverage. But, I hold the fear that the law is only as good as the people who enforce it and I fear that some (Sheriff Joe comes to mind) will misuse this law and racial profiling will occur.
70-percent of arizonians in favor of the law. the majority of americans didn't support obamas 2,000+ page disaster for our children. doesn't really feel like we're living in a demcracy anymore does it?
have holder live in a border town for a year and see what he thinks then. that is...if he isn't kidnapped or killed first.
It should also be a crime to hang America's Flag upside down as many Mexicans did to celebrate their independence at our schools. STRIP THEM of their Citizenship any crime against the USA. American Students getting suspended for wearing a US Flag on T shirts in our schools no Cinco de mayo. The Schools didn't want violence? This is an outrage
Will this administartion PLEASE stop pandering to the Latinos just to get votes! That's all this is, because the Arizona law mirrors Federal law. America, please wake up... get this administartion out of office. This country is beginning to lose its way.
Mr. Holder, you are one big MORON. I hope if the federal government brings legal action against Arizona, you fat cat fools loose big time.
You and your president have no respect for the will of the majority of the people. And, in Arizona, the majority of Arizonans have spoken.
Now back-off you pompous fool.
Oops! Sorry I forgot that your president may need the immigrant vote to get re-elected. Sorry!!!
