(CNN) – President Obama has a starring role in Sen. Arlen Specter's new television ad.
The new 30-second spot begins airing Tuesday on broadcast and cable outlets across Pennsylvania, Specter campaign manager Christopher Nicholas told CNN.
The ad's footage is borrowed from a joint Obama-Specter event held after former Republican switched parties last year - in part to increase his re-election prospects.
"He came to fight for the working men and women of Pennsylvania," Obama says of Specter in the spot. "And Arlen Specter cast the deciding vote in favor of the Recovery Act that has helped pull us back from the brink," the president notes in a reference to his administration's economic stimulus package.
"I love you," Obama tells the gathered crowd in the footage, "and I love Arlen Specter."
Specter finds himself in an increasingly contentious Democratic primary fight against Rep. Joe Sestak. A recent survey showed that Specter's once formidable lead is shrinking in advance of next week's primary.
What's his record so far this year with endorsements of candidates? Coakley and Corzine, I'm proud he's endorsed Arlen, hopefully this will be the final nail in his coffin.
Kiss of death having that clown in a video, you know that old dirtball is in trouble if he goes to the liar n chief!
I'm a Democrat in Pennsylvania and a huge Obama supporter. I never have and NEVER WILL vote for Arlene Specter. Sestak is ahead in the latest poll here. Obama can't save Specter.
Sestak is not my ideal candidate, but Arlen Specter has got to go!
Oh this is about a 10 on the puke scale. Specter is as sleazy as it gets tied only with another PA slime Murtha. Specter should take the hint and ooze out on the same slime trail he came in on and take Empty Suit Obama with him.
