(CNN) – President Obama has a starring role in Sen. Arlen Specter's new television ad.
The new 30-second spot begins airing Tuesday on broadcast and cable outlets across Pennsylvania, Specter campaign manager Christopher Nicholas told CNN.
The ad's footage is borrowed from a joint Obama-Specter event held after former Republican switched parties last year - in part to increase his re-election prospects.
"He came to fight for the working men and women of Pennsylvania," Obama says of Specter in the spot. "And Arlen Specter cast the deciding vote in favor of the Recovery Act that has helped pull us back from the brink," the president notes in a reference to his administration's economic stimulus package.
"I love you," Obama tells the gathered crowd in the footage, "and I love Arlen Specter."
Specter finds himself in an increasingly contentious Democratic primary fight against Rep. Joe Sestak. A recent survey showed that Specter's once formidable lead is shrinking in advance of next week's primary.

Sorry, but Specter is old news, old world, bad news. ADM Sestak is the one to watch this time out, and hopefully we'll have him for many, many years.

George Washington worried about partisan politics becoming more important than the good of the county. Seems he has good reason.
Sometimes good men just can't stand where their party is heading – and are unable to change the direction ... so they change political parties: it doesn't make them "traitors" – it makes them Americans! Even St. Ronald of Reagan was a Democrat before he became a republican ... which means – in today's climate – Reagan himself would not be "pure" enough for some conservative/republicans!
Talk about desperate,I can't believe Arlen Specter pulled such a stunt.

Whoever Obama supports will not get elected. Even if Specter survives Democratic primary, he will lose the final.

Spector is not only a turncoat but did so not because of ideological differences, but because he knew he could not win in a republican primary.
He is old, he does not need to be in government any longer. The system has to change so these "relics" who serve forever because of special interests and bringing home the bacon, can be retired to the fossil farm.
The time to clean up both The House and the Senate is upon us. Don't vote for the party! It is time the people sent a message to Washington DC we reject politics as usual.

Meanwhile what is happening with Obama's new government takeover of big oil? (Since reform, more regulations = takeover even when there is no new government agency or public option and everything remains private).
This admin just wants to takeover every aspect of our lives so we stop having oil spills that destroy our livelihood, turn our mining work environment into tombs, stop being without health care, or have our jobs obliterated by unbriddled financial institutions.
Republican Specter should be ashamed for using Obama's imagery without Obama's permission in an ad against American hero Joe Sestak. Spector is the king of bailouts and pork barrel spending.
It's strange to see the president that complained that Mr. Spector was one of those evil Republicans, now saying that he's one of those thoughful Democrats.Especially,when none of his political beliefs have changed,just his party's affilation.
At least he won't be able to ride in on Obama's coat tails like Kanjorski did two year ago, hopefully people will wake up to this career politician who has change parties THREE TIMES.

I realize that President Obama committed his support to Specter when Specter switched parties (again!) but he isn't a Democrat and his campaign has been dishonest about Rep. Sestak.
A local radio station researched Specter's claims that Sestak's staff was paid less than minimum wage and many qualified for food stamps (suggesting they were on food stamps. WGAL determined that, using Specter's methods, 40% of Specter's staff are paid less than minimum wage!
Specter calculated part time staff as full time and none of them are on food stamps! Specter is equally dishonest about Sestak's military record. You don't get to the level of 3 star Admiral by accident. Specter still uses Republican tactics because he is not a Democrat.
Specter and Obama deserve each other.
I am very pleased that Pres. Obama is taking the initiative to support Arlen. W/the recent oil spill and the hard headeness of the CEO's of BP, and other energy oil companies, it is so..........very crucial that State's elect politicians who will hold these companies accountable!!

Specter's once formidable lead never existed, except in the minds of the elite media. People in Pa are tired of not having a senator with a backbone. Right now with Casey and Specter we've got nobody in D.C. that will stand up for us or what is right.
