Palin does a bit of stand up

(CNN) – She's a politician, an author, cable news contributor and sought-after speaker. But perhaps former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is interested in a new title: comedienne.

In what can only be described as a bit of a schtick, Palin had some fun Friday with the notion that she and her family might be rednecks.

Speaking at the National Rifle Association's annual meeting in Charlotte, North Carolina, Palin claimed that some in the media have tried to portray members of the Tea Party movement as "violent or racist or rednecks."

"And I don't really have a problem with the redneck part of it, to tell you the truth. I don't," the former vice presidential candidate told the crowd. "That's fine with me."

Palin told the gun rights supporters how she recently searched online for the best redneck jokes to prepare for an appearance in Alabama where she was introduced by a radio personality named "Bubba."

"But, I'm reading them [thinking] these aren't funny, these are me," Palin said to laughter. "They really are."

Holding what looked like a BlackBerry, Palin told some of the jokes to the NRA crowd.

"'You're a redneck if directions to your house include turn off the paved road.'" "Yep," Palin said rhetorically, "Go to Wasilla, turn off the paved road. That's where we are."

"'You may be a redneck if you're ever involved in a custody fight over a hunting dog.'" "Todd and I? No. But, we have friends – yep, truly – a custody fight over their hunting dog."

" – 'If you yell at your husband, come move this transmission so I can take a bath.'" "I thought that one was funny," Palin told the crowd.

"-'If you use your fishing license as a form of i.d.'" "Well, I do that all the time in Dillingham," Palin said. "That's how you cash your checks."

Palin also told jokes about having steel toes in your "best shoes," going hunting on your honeymoon, getting the septic tank pumped as an anniversary present, having Thanksgiving dinner served on a ping-pong table, thinking Wal-Mart is expensive, and spending the night in the bed of your truck rather than paying for a hotel room.

Sarah Palin is a political moron. She relates to "populist" logic of the new dummied-down Republican party. Folks..it's easy to be a Republican....but is it the right thing to do?

The term "red neck" comes from people who work hard in the outdoors and usually have a sunburn on their neck, hands and face from doing physical work and are usually making a living from paycheck to paycheck. They are quite often salt of the earth people that would never sell their soul to the devil for money or put others down for their beliefs.Of course Sarah Palin will tell anyone that will pay her that she is one of them and she makes a point at every state or country speech that she is "one of them" so that you will be foolish enough to believe her and line her pockets with cash. She will tell Canadians that she feels like one of them, and next speech she will tell people from Alabama she is like one of them. She only has one rule and that is to lie to whoever she has to lie to to take every dollar she can from people that are stupid enough to become a Palindrone.

Is Sarah Palin that stupid to conside herself as a redneck.
Does she really know what that term means for all
    African Americans?
It only validates that she is a racist and a dumb racist at
that. As a proud African American it is appalling that she
would use that terminology. If you knew the history of
African Americans – the term redneck denotes conservative and
pro slavery sentiments. It is those rednecks that lynched and degraded and dehumanized African Americans – not only in South
but in the whole fabric of the United States.
How dare does this idiot associate herself with such racist terms?
But then I am not surprised.
Michael "Uncle Tom" Steele do you hear what this woman is saying.
You have recruited 32 African Americans candidates for Congressional Offices but have you have elected an African
    American President from the Republican
Party – the Democratic Party did.

I don't really care for Sarah but the left is so full of hypocrisy. The left wing lunatic fringe hate machine rolls on all day painting her as a devil when she's just different from them. That is racism and prejudice in practice. Rednecks are good people. The kind of folks that invite a lonely stranger in for dinner, say hi in passing a stranger rather than ignore people, hold open doors and load groceries in the trunk for the elderly. I've traveled a bit and I've seen the further south you go the kinder people are. The further north into blue states you go people are rude, arrogant, and just plain hateful. So all you elitist stuck up lefties need to look in the mirror and worry about yourselves before you try to fix Sarah or anyone else who doesn't fit your mold. It's something you guys preach but do not practice called tolerance.

She can forget it. More people love the welfare life than the honest life.
