(CNN) - Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin joined the national battle over Arizona's controversial new immigration law Saturday, appearing with Gov. Jan Brewer in Phoenix to denounce the Obama administration's criticism of the law.

"It's time for Americans across this great country to stand up and say 'We're all Arizonans now and, in clear unity, we say Mr. President, do your job, secure our border,'" Palin said, standing beside Brewer at a Saturday afternoon press conference.

Brewer used the event to announce her first appointment to the state's new Joint Border Security Advisory Committee and the launch of a website to combat what she said was a national misinformation campaign about the state's new law.

Palin and Brewer, both Republicans, decried plans by opponents of the new law to boycott the state in protest.

Why isn't Palin not chastising the previous Republican Administration for not securing the borders. They had a chance to do it then but I do agree we do not to tighten our borders to all people coming in to America. We just can't afford it.

Who cares what this nitwit has to say on any subject? We did indeed dodge a bullet in the last election. Would she have quit as VP?

Isn't it interesting Repbulicans are making immigration an issue just months before an important election! The GOP always loves a good wedge issue to get them some votes. Of course, once elected they never actually do anything about it.

Republicans ran the country for 8 years, pushing through pet bill after pet bill, yet they did almost nothing to fix the borders or address illegal immigration. Now that the GOP is out of power, they are screaming in righteous indignation that the Democrats aren't doing enough.

how nice would life be right now if McCain had simply picked someone else as VP? Sarah would still be unknown and we would ALL be spared this ignorant woman's daily rants and "weighing in" on all subjects -but not by offering anything smart, just by COMPLAINING! ENOUGH!!!

AZ is broke. Flat broke! The Republican legislature has gutted funding to schools, denied medical funding to the elderly and children, sold the State Capitol building on a disasterous "lease back", closed rest stops on our Interstate Highways and cut taxes for our wealthiest citizens. One wonders where the State got the money to pay the Idiot-in-Chief to come here to spew her nonsense.

Obama – just take one of your promises and do it right! Everything else you've touched got screwed up. The border would be my choice for a positive one-in-a-row.

Nobody expects to see a semblance of decency or sensitivity to come out of this Failin Palin individual. Apparently, she thinks the only people who deserve sensitivity are those with developmental disabilities who are related to her – no self-centredness there at all. She is an absolute opportunist!

Should President Obama ever need the advice on his public service job from someone who quit and never completed one, I am sure his folks will contact your folks to work out the details of the speech fees and the Lear Jet requirements.

Until then your thought processes(such as they are) as a private citizen or no more important than mine, and I say let the grownups handle it, but when you do speak you assure that your latest title as Saint Sarah of the Stupid will remain secure.

It's just like a Republican to scream about how the governement isn't doing its job while decrying that government is doing too much.

The problem with the Arizona law isn't about securing the boarder. It's about policing the citizenry in a more authoritative fashion. I for one DO NOT want to carry around my passport at all times like you must in so many many countries. I DO NOT wish police to be able to stop and scrutinize me on the street whenever they wish.

Other states have pushed out their illegals by creating and enforcing laws criminalizing the employment or harboring of Illegals.

This law isn't the standard. It is the extream. They don't need to do it this way.

They should secure the borders. It's a matter of national security.
However, my own view is that Palin should stop drinking the cool aid.

DO YOUR JOB? This from the governor who bailed her elected post in Alaska to pursue money and cheap fame?

Palin never knows what she's talking about... zero credibility.

How many administrations have we had? how many have tackled the problem? Where was she during the last 8 years of the Bush years? Where was the outrage during the Bush years. Strange, I don't remember any. So why now? Why is it so important that Arizona has to pass a bill at this point? didn't the problem exist 10 years ago? Or 5 years ago? I smell a rat(Rove). Again we have those who would rip our country apart for political reasons. Shameful. Oh well, we are on the downhill run and our country only has a few years to go before it is no more. Let's play the funeral durge now. Thank you Bush and company.

So what does she call 8 years of Bush and their immigration reform efforts or lack thereof? Seriously I just don't know how Obama is supposed to get everything done in one and a half years what Bush screwed up for eight years. Bush should have done something about our borders after 9/11 instead he wanted us to go shopping. The hypocrisy of the right is annoying.

Nothing to do with who she is or anyone else when they are right. Close the borders and deport the tax , welfare health consuming illegas so we can stop being choked out economically financially. Stop being idiots about who says what, if the message supports the majority of americans (welll over 50 percent) then support support your country.

Obama secure our borders and greatly penalize companies that hire illegals. And quit giving the money that we borrow from China away to other countries. Our veterans can't even sign up for health care that they earned 30 years ago. Shameful.

Illegal immigration will only decline when we remove the incentive to cross the border - jobs.

    a. Stiffen punishment for employers of undocumented workers.

    b. Actually enforce employment audits.

    c. Break the financial incentives for unscrupulous employers to hire illegals (under the table payments, no benefits, no taxes, ...)

    d. Get strategic in our immigration policy: Ease immigration for those who will advance the nation (students, professionals, ...) and toughen immigration for others. Never forget that much of today's greatness came from immigrants.

    e. Grant amnesty to those who are leading honest lives, getting educated, and advancing "the American dream".

    f. Get serious about aiding Mexico in stabilizing life south of the border. The Mexican gangs get their drug money and guns from the US.

Palin is a loose cannon nit-wit. She makes the most stupid statements as she sits in her kitchen looking at Russia. Thank God she didn't get elected with that other old nit-wit that changes his mind about issues every 15 minutes.
