Washington (CNN) - After the signing of the Freedom of Press Act on Monday, President Obama declined to take any questions from the press.
During a pooled press event in the Oval Office, President Obama was asked if he would take a couple questions.
"You're certainly free to ask the question," Obama told the reporters in the room. "I won't be answering, I'm not doing a press conference today, but we'll be seeing you in the course of the week."
President Obama was referring to the press availability he will likely hold following his meeting with Mexican President Felipe Calderon. Traditionally, these events are known as "two and two's" referring to the number of questions each country's group of reporters will be allowed to ask.

I love how Obama is mistreating the very people (the "main stream media") who hid his controversies and liberal agenda to get him elected! I hope the press event with the Mexican President is only a photo op with a press pool photographer!
He is the only president who is afraid of Press Conference. Everybody should know why.

When the media does NOTHING to dispel the lies, and hate unfairly heaped upon this President why should he make himself always available to you? You guys are like parasitic leeches. You give press, A LOT of press to the irrelevant and hateful ramblings of Sarah Palin. Eeven if it demoralizes the country and creates an atmosphere of HATE, you'd rather report on the shifting lies of a TOTAL NOBODY like Palin, then assist in rebuilding the morale of this country by at least NOT reporting rating-building LIES.
You should be ashamed of yourselveslf. You are no where near in possessing the integrity and grit and fearlessness displayed by foreign reporters in let's say Mexico. These reporters risk their lives in reporting the truth about the drug cartels there. Oh no, you're NOT in that category! They let politicians lie to the public and put it on the airways without challenging blantantly false claims .... for example "Death Panels".
The press has a responsibility to do something useful with the access they seek under the 1st Ammendment. If they don't ... and they haven't ... then they don't deserve special favorable treatment.

In a previous article, several Fox snoozers felt that all media but the right wingnut operations of Rupert did not report the truth. They should really check out C Span and PBS. It is a good way to discover that Fox is a joke, full of half baked conspiracy theories. If you watch Hannity's show until he tells his first lie and turn off the TV, you will have 59 minutes of quality time to spend with your family.
Typical CNN nonsense. How can you put up this piece on the Freedom of the Press Act without even briefly explaining what the act is? The news isn't if Obama took or didn't take questions, the news it that the act was signed. Another reason why I would never pay to read the "news."
i.e., He has not studied or practiced his politically correct / filtered socialist manifesto. All this 24X7 media presenting facts to the American people has put too much pressure on Obama, causing him to not be ready to deal with them at this time.

Have no fear, I hear there will be a hard hitting question and answer session of the president posted on his government website. The interview will be conducted by his wife, if will run sort of like the first interview of Elena Kagan on his site.
Obama does LOTS of events, gets LOTS of TV time, but very rarely does he actually take questions.
He is starting to withdraw more and more from explaining his decisions, both good and bad, and this is a terrible sign for this country. Look no further then his complaining about there being too much media.
