(CNN) - Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden - the son of Vice President Joe Biden - was discharged Tuesday from a hospital a week after suffering what his doctor called a mild stroke, according to a spokesman for the Delaware Department of Justice.
Biden left Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday afternoon and returned home, spokesman Jason Miller said.
"On the morning of Tuesday May 11, Attorney General Beau Biden suffered a minor stroke," said Biden's physician, Robert Rosenwasser, in a written statement. "Due to rapid triage, diagnosis, and institution of appropriate medical therapy, he is leaving Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience of Thomas Jefferson University neurologically normal.
"I am pleased to report that the results of his final discharge general and neurological exam find his neurological status perfect in all arenas including motor skills, language function, and cognitive assessment."
He predicted Biden will return to work "after a brief period of rest at home."

Continue to recover and stay safe Beau!
Boy they do go to extremes to get their sons out of harms way. Don't they???
Too bad this had to happen, but he's a lucky guy, and its nice to hear some good news for a change.
Good deal! Welcome back Beau!
And now, from the scummiest swamps of political muck, I present a bunch of nasties who are going to say he should have died, still should die, etc, and all because his dad got more votes than Sarah Palin. Take it away, GOP!
Take care of yourself Beau. Easy does it.
These types of strokes are a wake up call for people to take better care of their bodies. Eat better, rest and de-stress. And for all you people who start posting nasty comments....grow the heck up and pull yourself out of the barn. If you ever had the misfortune to watch a family member struggle with a stroke and/or die from one, you would know the total fear and pain families do go through.

Yeah, like having them enlist. What branch of the service are you/your kids in?
/sarcasm off
Thank God that everything turned out alright. Take care of yourself Beau and please for your sake, don't rush anything Bless you and your family.
Just like Daddy Bush did for W, MAD MAN TEXAN.
Sorry, I was writing to MAD MAX TEXAN. I didn't mean to get your name wrong while mocking you.
@madmaxtexan (which might say it all) – and your point is? Out of harm's way?
What is your point exactly? The story is about a 41 year old man who might have had a stroke. That his father happens to be the elected VP of our country should have nothing to do with it.
Our family sends the best to the Biden's and hope for a full recovery.
