Arizona to Obama: We need Predator drones!

New York (CNNMoney.com) - Unbowed by a raft of boycotts over her immigration policy, Arizona Gov. Janice Brewer has requested helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles from the White House to patrol the border region with Mexico.

Brewer, in a letter to President Obama, asked that the National Guard reallocate reconnaissance helicopters and robotic surveillance craft to the "border states" from other parts of the country.

The governor specifically asked for OH-58 Kiowa helicopters, used by the military for reconnaissance, noting that Arizona currently has only four of them "available for border missions."

Sorry, the only time Obama will use predator drones in the US is on the great American Tea Party gatherings.

Arizona, like many other states have to do what is necessary to protect its citizens, including nationalized American citizen, due to the fact the federal government for what ever reason won't. Will see how quickly Arizona's requests are fulfilled by the Obama administration. The same administration that can't find the time to read the illegal immigration bill that was signed into law, weeks ago.

In a lengthier article, CNN states the AZ governor did not request a specific model of drone. So why did CNN use in its headline the highly inflammatory name of the drone that's being used to hunt down and kill terrorists in Afghanistan and Pakistan?

I'm not supporter of the AZ law or its governor, but this is yellow journalism at its worst!

Look at the new Rasmussen polls-–the MAJORITY in Arizona and the majority in the country support Arizona and the rule of law.

The majority wants the borders closed/secured.

The majority want the laws enforced.

The majority do not want illegals rewarded/accommodated for thumbing their noses at our immigration laws.

If if is determined that we actually need foreign workers--then we can let in some of the millions of people throughout the world who have applied and are waiting in line---not reward the illegals.

I have to chuckle when I hear these Republican politicians wanting help from the government. Jindahl wants help in Lousiania, which there are needs, however the Republicans want less government involvement and lower taxes. Brewer wants help but again, Senator McCain keeps saying less government and lower taxes. Where is the money to come from?

This is delicious. It seems like the same kinds of folks who were darkly warning us about black helicopters (and their assoicated jack-booted government thugs) a few years back, are now asking that these helicopters be sent in to spy on their state. Right. Just like the southern Republican governers and the BP oil spill. They don't want government intruding in their lives ... until they do.

Does the governor intend on having hellfire missles blowin up on the border as well? We are all aware of the devastation those missles can cause. She needs to think twice about what she is asking for.

The Fed has ignored our borders, north AND south, for decades. Nothing new here. Our federal gubment is wholly asleep at the proverbial switch. Not the men and women in the trenches, but the policy wogs.

And this is the state that constantly complains ab out government spending?
It would seem to me that four helicopters could cover alot of territory.

Keep up the good work, Gov. Brewer! Lock down the border and get rid of the illegal scum bags. Use predator drones and maybe foster the mountain lion population to help keep the Mexican criminals and terrorists out!

Drones for Arizona? Obama will never allow that to happen because it would be violating the rights of illegal aliens and it would probably enrage President Calderon of Mexico!!!!!

Gov. Brewer is not a smart woman, she graduated from Glendale Community College of Arizona with no further education. You don't make your own state immigration laws, which the government doesn't agree with, and then turn around and ask the government to enforce them. Brewer put the horse before the cart and this is no more than a political attempt to cast her mistakes on President Obama.

Obama only cares about courting the hispanic vote to get re elected. If Arizona turns into the sewer that Mexico is he doesn't care. It was beyond despicable that he let the president of Mexico trash Arizona's new law. It was a joke because Mexico is brutal towads anyone crossing their southern border. Obama do your job protect our borders not your re election goal.

Nice! I generally don't care much for Republicans' policies or tactics, but I am squarely behind Gov. Brewer on this. This move is level-headed, reasonable, and politically embarrassing for the president. Smart politics!

I voted for, and have been an Obama supporter, but he is wrong, wrong, wrong, in not enforcing the laws of our land. It was outrageous for the president of Mexico to speak infront of our congress and criticize our laws.

You will notice that the Republicans are notoriously silent on this issue. The also are guilty of saying nothing for fear of alienating the Hispanic vote.

We have a congress full of hyprocrites, both Democrats and Republicans that say nothing about enforcing the written law of our country, only looking and what will gain or lose votes.

Janice Brewer, if Arizona needs helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles they you as governor of Arizona should buy them. Surely you don't want US tax payers giving you money – that will be unamerican as you tea party people would say.

They need more than drones and helicopters. They need a Governor that is not severely brain damaged.

What a joke Arizona has become.

Might as well ask for some Napalm, too. Or better yet, just declare hunting season on Mexicans. You can shoot at them from helicopters like Sarah Palin likes to do. [Don't agree with me, I'm being sarcastic.]

"sounds" like a great idea, but keep in mind that same predator drone can give face recognition to any and everyone at a tea party rally! That's what I call smaller government. The patriot act, the gift that keeps on giving!
