Palin to Haley: 'Hang in there'

Washington (CNN) – Drawing parallels to her own experiences with rumor and political sniping, Sarah Palin used a Facebook posting Monday to defend the candidacy of South Carolina Republican gubernatorial hopeful Nikki Haley.

"As I said to Nikki this morning, 'Hang in there. I've been there. Any lies told about you will strengthen your resolve to clean up political and media corruption. You and your supporters will grow stronger through things like this.'"

Palin's reaction comes just hours after Haley denied a claim that she once had an extramarital affair with a prominent South Carolina political blogger.

Palin endorsed Haley earlier this month in a surprise move, and then traveled to South Carolina, where the two women appeared at a rally.

"There is some good news for your state," Palin said at the time. "And her name is Nikki Haley."

Haley now prominently features Palin's endorsement on her campaign website – and the Tea Party favorite has surged in the polls since appearing with Palin.

In her online posting, the former GOP vice presidential nominee makes clear she is standing by her endorsement of Haley.

"When Nikki and I held her endorsement rally on the steps of the beautiful and historic South Carolina state house last month, I warned her and her family that she would be targeted because she's a threat to a corrupt political machine, and she would be put through some hell," Palin wrote on Facebook.

Palin's post also harshly criticized Will Folks, the political website editor who wrote Monday that he had an "an inappropriate physical relationship" with Haley.

Urging South Carolinians to not believe the reports, Palin wrote, "[D]on't let some blogger make any accusation against your Nikki if the guy doesn't even have the guts or the integrity to speak further on such a significant claim."

After Haley issued her denial Monday, an associate of Folks told CNN: "He has nothing to add to his comments regarding this matter and will not be conducting any further interviews on the subject."

The so called red neck speaks again. If I were a red neck I'd tell Palin she is not good enough to be called one.

Keep up the great work Palin. You are killing the republican party (AKA domestic terrorist)

I love the stupidity and accusations that come from the clowns on the left. You all have no evidence of anything but rather than waiting to get more info you all just assume she is guilty. The hypocrisy on the left is comical. If a democrat is ever accused of something they always want hard core evidence and defend that person until they see a smoking gun. If this lady is innocent which I have no idea since I wasnt in the bedroom that day the left will come up with some excuse to try to humiliate her anyway. The people of this country are starting to realize that the socialist hate America party (ie the democrats) are a complete joke.

Maybe its time to let people's private lives stay private as long as whatever it was had nothing to do with the responsibilities or obligations of a public office.

In Politics its like a witch hunt. Democrats out to barbecue a Republicans and Republican's trying to barbecue Democrats.

In nearly every case I think most people would say leave it alone unless there was some kind of public hypocracy involved. Like espousing fidelity while cheating on your partner.... ? then maybe like the Pillary of old we use the media to embarrass the hell out of a person till the shrink from public view.

It really does come down to living up to the Golden Rule

Dumb move Palin. You're assuming this woman is telling the truth. You're setting yourself up to put your foot in your mouth yet again.

I'm pretty sure that when the guy who supposedly boffed her speaks up publicly and says "I'm the guy that boffed her"...that's called evidence.

Palin is going to look pretty stupid when Haley admits that allegations are true...but not nearly as stupid as the posters on here blaming Democrats and liberals for this leak. Teabaggers, Haley is still in the REPUBLICAN primary. One of her good conservative GOP rivals is behind this. LOL

I love it. Palin has got the liberals on the run. They can't say enough bad things about her. The more negatives posted by stupid liberals gives her more money in the bank and more publicity. The Press has created a monster. Go get em Palin. Stupid or not I envy you.
