Palin to Haley: 'Hang in there'

Washington (CNN) – Drawing parallels to her own experiences with rumor and political sniping, Sarah Palin used a Facebook posting Monday to defend the candidacy of South Carolina Republican gubernatorial hopeful Nikki Haley.

"As I said to Nikki this morning, 'Hang in there. I've been there. Any lies told about you will strengthen your resolve to clean up political and media corruption. You and your supporters will grow stronger through things like this.'"

Palin's reaction comes just hours after Haley denied a claim that she once had an extramarital affair with a prominent South Carolina political blogger.

Palin endorsed Haley earlier this month in a surprise move, and then traveled to South Carolina, where the two women appeared at a rally.

"There is some good news for your state," Palin said at the time. "And her name is Nikki Haley."

Haley now prominently features Palin's endorsement on her campaign website – and the Tea Party favorite has surged in the polls since appearing with Palin.

In her online posting, the former GOP vice presidential nominee makes clear she is standing by her endorsement of Haley.

"When Nikki and I held her endorsement rally on the steps of the beautiful and historic South Carolina state house last month, I warned her and her family that she would be targeted because she's a threat to a corrupt political machine, and she would be put through some hell," Palin wrote on Facebook.

Palin's post also harshly criticized Will Folks, the political website editor who wrote Monday that he had an "an inappropriate physical relationship" with Haley.

Urging South Carolinians to not believe the reports, Palin wrote, "[D]on't let some blogger make any accusation against your Nikki if the guy doesn't even have the guts or the integrity to speak further on such a significant claim."

After Haley issued her denial Monday, an associate of Folks told CNN: "He has nothing to add to his comments regarding this matter and will not be conducting any further interviews on the subject."

-CNN's Peter Hamby contributed to this report.

Hmmmmmmmm two things come to mind,,,,,,,,this is NOT the woman I would want to be running this country, and NOT the person I would want to be weighing in on my or anyone elses sex life or lack there of.

Would we have been better off if Sanford had not been exposed?, just like John Edwards was......he was an upcoming presidential contender............neither of them should be running for higher office, and the the same holds true for Nikki Haley, if she is lying. It isn't the affair, it is the lying about it, just as it was with Clinton, Edwards, Larry Craig, Marc Foley, John Ensign etc. etc. We have to be able to believe our top public servants.................it matters, and since it is a Republican male that is blowing the whistle, it is more likely that it is true than if it was a partisan Democrat......

Yet if this had been anyone from across the aisle, SP would be there with nails and wood for a cross before any facts were known. Another shining example of her hypocrisy.

That darn media! Good thing we have Sarah Palin there to defend people so they don't have to be questioned by the wicked media. So much better not to be distracted by possible extra-marital affairs or whether or not they hold certain convictions. Why, we should just do away with the press altogether – just let the candidates have their say and we should just believe them! All of them! All the time! No matter what! Sarah feels that way about Obama too, right?

And we should believe her because ............? Oh yeah just because you endorsed her, give me a break. You told some of the biggest fabrications out there and continue to do so, there is no credibility.

Why would anyone lend any credibility to a Sarah Palin (the half-term quitter) endorsement? And now she's doubling-down? Might have been wise to let the dust settle. It sure looks like another Republican "family values" hypocrite is about to bite the dust.

Go Sara, the more TEA PARTY candidates you elect the more fractured the R's become. Elect all you can . Paul was a great start , maybe we all could eat at a lunch counter to talk about what she did.

I think we need to get out of people's bedroom's. We just don't belong
there. Marriage is too long a road for an outsider to judge with a
few snapshots. I am not sure who's integrity we should be judging.
The person in the picture, the person who took the picture, or the
person who has to look at the picture. In the long-run. I get the
impression that it really is not really empowering information. It just
distracts us from what is really important and diminishes our own
ability to deal with our humanity.

gee whiz it is a wonder she didn't blame the Democrats for a conservative telling that HE had an affair with this woman. I mean after all everything that comes out of that spewing shrill mouth of her blames Democrats. If she had her way she would blame every disaster that every happened to the world on the democrats. You know like,,,the Iraq and Afgan War, the ones Cowboy bush started.

Question: Is Ms. Haley from Argentina? Has Sad Sack Sanford been observed sniffing SC RNC Headquarters lately? What did you say? Ms. Haley cannot be found. She's hiking in the mountains? Fargospeak: "Oh yaw".

Good Grief: Hide the women and children. It's breeding season in South Carolina.

Shut Stupid. There haven't been lies reported about you. Everything reported on you has proven factual. Ms. Haley on the other hand sounds like she has something to hide. There definitely must be something in the water down there. As far as Sarah The Stupid is concerned, why must she add her unnecessary two cents?

Good, now have Palin weigh in on Rand Paul's scandal about taking money from Neo-Nazi groups. He's been financed by Stormfront... and that's a bigger scandal than any sex thing.

Pain needs to wash her mouth out with soap. She is the last person on earth who should be pointing fingers at people and accuse them of mudslinging. She was caught on tape at a the 2008 campaign rally smiling and nodding at the crowd when hey were yelling to murder Obama right after she said that he cohorts with terrorists. She said that Obama didnt know the issues because he had to for read off a teleprompter (every Pres does!) when she herself has to write answers to the press's questions on her hand. She is more brainless than Dubya, if she isnt hen why did she say she would be good a diplomacy with Russia because she can see it from her house. Tea baggers you say you are tired with the status quo in DC, I applaud your sentiment but Palin is part of that rhetoric and cares as much for you as she does for the voters in Alaska that voted for her.. She doesnt know anything! Use her as a reverse barometer; do the opposite of what she says. Stupid is as stupid does

"It is refreshing to see a politician just step up and say the right thing quickly and decisively."

You mean Nikki Haley fessed up, admitted her affair, acted like an adult and didn't deny it in hopes she could keep it covered up?
