Jindal postpones book to focus on oil spill

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal's book was scheduled to come out in July.

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal's book was scheduled to come out in July.

(CNN) - Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal has asked that the release of his forthcoming political book be delayed so he can focus on the Gulf Coast oil spill, his publisher said Tuesday.

The book - "Real Hope, Real Change: New Conservative Solutions to Rescue America" - was originally slated for a July, 2010 release.

"Regnery Publishing is postponing the release of Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal's upcoming book, 'Real Hope, Real Change,' at the request of Governor Jindal," said Marji Ross, president of the conservative publishing house.

"We understand and support the Governor's commitment to focus 150 percent of his attention on the BP oil spill and its impact on Louisiana and the Gulf Coast," she added.

A synopsis on describes Jindal's book as a mixture of biography and political philosophy.

When it was announced in April 2009, the book deal immediately sparked chatter about Jindal's national ambitions. The book's synopsis does little to tamp down the speculation.

"From health care and national debt to how we can fundamentally transform Washington, Jindal tackles controversial issues and offers fresh solutions," it reads. "Insightful and inspiring, 'Real Hope, Real Change' provides the leadership voice Republicans seek and the guidance America needs."

How does a sitting governor in 2010 have time to right a book?

He should go ahead and release the book, and they can use it to suck up oil.

Bobby–Weren't you on TV just yesterday demanding that the Federal government step in to take over BP Corporation's failed cleanup efforts? Better revise the text you no doubt have included that bashes the federal government as unecessary and incompetent and praises the corporate sector as the answer to all our country's ills!

I want to run for governor of LA. Apparently the job leaves you extra time to write a book. It was big of Jindahl to put it aside while the gulf part of his state is being killed off by yet another corporation. Mighty big of him.

Guess he needs more face time on TV slamming Obama for not putting on a snorkel and flippers to go down and plug the hole so he could sell more books.

Political philosophy? It's called "Opportunism". He's governor of my state, and an empty suit.

Guess he needs time to re-write the chapter on how drilling in the Gulf will save the USA.

So let me get this straight ... the book has already been written but Mr. Jindal doesn't want to take the time to promote it right now .... OK ... Well that means that he WROTE THE BOOK while he should have been focused on the business of Louisiana.

He was one of the DRILL BABY DRILL crowd ... I remember the sound bites with his voice.

Instead of condemning the Obama Administration for resistance to the oil industry, he should have been reviewing the rules and regulations of the oil platforms off his coast.

It has became obvious that the Republicans are all talk and no action. Gov. Jindal new these oil riggs could spill oil/explode. What does he want, the big mean over reaching government to bail them out. Where is that other clown Mit Romeny with all his solutions? This is obvious over his pay grade. You see folks, government has an important role in our lives.

BREAKING NEWS.....Bobby Jindal resumed his book "Real Hope, Real Change: New Conservative Solutions to Rescue America" shortly after his afternoon nap when reports of Aquaman's departure from the League of Justice building were leaked to the public. Aquaman is reportedly going to stop the oil leak and then turn his attention to the Socialism monster threating the USA.

I wonder just how many of you "Drill, baby, drill" idiots out there are still willing to admit it. Seems I remeber the entire GOP convention doing that chant.

Bobby, maybe you and the rest of the Gulf Coast states should have stopped pandering to the oil companies a long time ago instead of irresponsibly allowing them to thumb their noses at all of the safety procedures that should have been implemented prior to drilling for oil.

Louisiana was in bad shape before the oil spill, now we know why, their Governor Jindal has been busy writing a book. Don't let the oil spill stop you now Mr. Jindal because there is nothing you have done that you can do now.

Good can the GOP even keep a straight face when they look in the mirror after so many years of insisting that Corporations police themselves and that Oil is the best thing since sliced bread. Years of refusing to invest in alternative energy research, years of name calling those who care about the environment, years of worshiping corporate profit at the expense of the health of the environment and the general population...the list goes on and on...and we still got these nutjobs like Palin and that Rand Paul fella still chanting "Drill baby drill" or "Keep out of private corporate affairs"...etc. Anyone who doesn't see the light and still insists on following the stupidity of the GOP prioities...well, they are even bigger tools than their leaders.

What's it gonna take? Oil leaking into your faucet? before you think twice about the convenience of relying on Petroleum as your main source of transportation fuel? Get your heads our of the sand people.

I will still say drill baby drill; we need the oil but we should be drilling on land instead of the sea. All you tree-huggers out there need to realize that if we were allowed to drill on land we could controll something like this. All the tree huggers are doing is using this to stop any drilling at all like Obama. Disgusting!!!!
