Obama to give Boxer a big bucks boost, again

Washington (CNN) - President Obama heads west Tuesday afternoon to lend Sen. Barbara Boxer a hand. It's the president's second trip to California in a month to help the fellow Democrat raise campaign cash for her re-election battle.

Obama will headline three fundraisers in San Francisco for Boxer and for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. The events are scheduled to be held at the Fairmont Hotel, in the city's affluent Nob Hill district, and at the home of Ann and Gordon Getty, wealthy philanthropists who head their family's billion dollar trust.

Last month the president was the main attraction at two fundraisers in Los Angeles for the three-term senator and for the Democratic National Committee. A Democratic source confirmed to CNN that those two events raised at least $3 million in campaign cash.

Boxer faces what's expected to be a tough bid this year for a fourth term in office. A poll released last Friday by the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) indicates that 50-percent of Golden state voters approve of the job Boxer is doing as senator, with 38-percent saying they disapprove.

In the November election, Boxer will face-off against the winner of the June 8 Republican senate primary.

According to the PPIC survey, Boxer leads former Rep. Tom Campbell by six points, former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina by nine points, and state assemblyman Chuck Devore, a favorite of the Tea Party movement by 11 points, in possible general election showdowns.

Why is the President the only one who is raising the demo money?
Check the next post here on the numbers, the country is in bad shape, no jobs, free oil in the gulf, government porn at work and now gays to fight O's battles for the new world order. Wow, what a record of accomplishment, waiting for the next shoe to drop. Senator Boxer must be an incredible candidate.

  4. Sick of Politicians

I am not from California, so I do not know much about either party's candidates. I suspect they are about the same, except which way they lean. It seems like most politicians are not worth much these days. My question is, who pays for all of Obama's flights on Air Force One? It's the public. So why do we have to pay for his flights for "fundraising" for his party. Same thing for past President's who have done this (I'm sure they all have). How much is spent/ wasted on these events/ flights?
