Finally we are seeing some action from Obama admn. Though the order to scramble has yet to come.
The Spill is proving to be the biggest disaster of this kind in our history & the govt should be prepared to deal with the aftermath.

Its amusing to hear the screems and moaning and crying for Government to help .... all the time the Republicans call for small government....... and lower taxes for the oil companies?..Suport the USA government if you want their help everytime ....but ridicule the USA government other times.. Barack Obama doesn't care about anything other than his own personal, liberal, destroy our country, agenda. My God, this is deja vu of the shameful lack of response to Katrina. This country is going to hell in a handbasket and that basket is filled with the grandiose schemes of Obama, Pelosi and Reid and the rest of the power hungry DC elite.....Help us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats very, very scary. They were in charge of katrina and rita also. The government doesn't have a clue about drilling, capping or any other facet of the oil business. More empty rhetoric.

This is one crisis that cannot be talked out of, Mr President. Let's ignore why this happened for now. Let's just fix this mess. Stop hesitating. This is a a crisis that needs immediate attention. If this was a hurricane happening RIGHT NOW, let's not worry about what happened during the prior evacuation until later. Less talk, more action.

Where have you been Mr president. If this were Katrina, the Liberals were all over Bush. This is just as bad. Even James Carville who never says anyting bad about the Democrats is absolutely livid at the White House. It tookl the Corps of Engineers 4 weeks to come up with a plan. Why did not anyone look at what Shell Oil did in a similiart happening. They had tankers scooping upthe oil and water immediately and saved a ton. Why couldn't BP and the government looked at what was done before. The effect would have been much less. Hats off Mr Obama...

Whoa, where are all the "Free Market" folks who want no Gov't intervention in any part of thier lives. All the "Drill Baby Drill" folks should be reminded that BP caused the mess so let BP resolve the issue as that what "Free Market Solutions" are all about right?
I guess "socialized" oil spill clean-up (Gov't taking over clean up operations) to protect the environment and economy of the good folks residing in a Red State is more palletable than socialized medicine, finaincial reform (Gov't oversight and regulations) to protect the national economy and public heath.
Mary Madeline and all the other GOP Obama reform bashers are nothihg but hypocrites!! As Marie Antoniette stated "Let them eat cake" but in this case let them eat oil!!

Only the LOONEY-TOONS will think otherwise!! Come on NOW!!! I was even getting SICK of my own cable news channels (MSNBC, CNN, etc. (NOT FOX)() for getting 'restless and trying to make judgment without knowing all of the facts'!!!
President Obama said from DAY 1 that he IS NOT going to cater to the 24/7 news media... Everyone KNOWS how President Obama operates and this situation is NO DIFFERENT from what he has done in the past. He IS NOT going to jump out there because the MEDIA has a CRAVING for news..... GET THE POINT!!!
Now the ginGRINCH who is trying to STEAL an Election better go to something else because commenting on the GULF-mess is not going to work!!!!

after watching obama dance around every question for nearly an hour..I mean, media..come on...what was that 'we are responsible, but it is BP's responsibility...." what was THAT. and even more important than dancing around questions, the hero of this whole fiasco was the venerable Helen Thomas, who laid the Afghan war directly at this Nobel Peace Prize recipeint, pro-war presidents feet..and which, of course, he allowed those feet to dance around this, the most important issue of hte day. the question was more an admonition to Obama to actually define just why Americans are continuing to die in that unjustified war, and that she didn't want to hear the nonsense which the Moron (bush) used, essentially a rehash of he LBJ justification for the genocide in Vietnam–that if not there, then here. and, as he was speaking, which the media simply refuses to report, as of this morning there were 5485 body bags which have been returned from that hell-hole since the moron's regime invaded...These illegal invasions of sovereign country's must end. They are the most critical issues of the day! It was sad to see obama dance around that oh-so-important issue. A year from now, when the BP oil spill is, hopefully, history...if Obama has his way, Ameican's will STILL be dying to prop up and corrupt Karzai regime–truth be known, that IS the only reason our troops are still there, and still dying....

How convenient that the White House finally steps forward to take responsibility when the first signs of success appear. What's next, will Obama claim his administration is fully in charge of efforts to land the first man on the moon?

Lets knock off the campaing trail speeches. BP is the only one that have the capabilities, the know-how and the experience to deal with such disaster. A little slow but they doing something, not because the Government is in charge, but because they have to do it. Obama probably going to stand on the side and take credit for what BP is accomplishing with the top kill.

Sure he claims the Goverment is in charge on the day that BP may have found the solution to stop the flow...want to bet they will finger point if this does not work. I am sorry I could not stand Bush and believed we could do no worse but as the old saying goes all we got was a new wolf in the same old sheeps clothing. Dems or repubs just two sides of the same coin all looking out for themselves while our country becomes more divided...when was the last time you heard say someone the were an American first...not in a long time here it is either dem or repub, no wonder the general population is so pitted up against each other. Look at these boards filled with hate for each other. Look to the top it shapes the attitudes of the country. Sickening what politics has done and is doing to this country.
