Beck apologizes for mocking Obama's daughter

Beck said he should not have included Obama's daughter in a political debate.

Beck said he should not have included Obama's daughter in a political debate.

(CNN) – Conservative talk-show host Glenn Beck apologized Friday after appearing to mock President Barack Obama’s 11-year-old daughter on his radio program earlier in the day.

In a statement posted on his website Friday afternoon, Beck said he broke his own rule about “leaving kids out of political debates.”

“In discussing how President Obama uses children to shield himself from criticism, I broke my own rule about leaving kids out of political debates,” said Beck in the statement. “The children of public figures should be left on the sidelines. It was a stupid mistake and I apologize–and as a dad I should have known better.”

Beck’s apology came hours after the radio host and his sidekicks imitated a pretend conversation between the president and Malia, in which Beck has his version of 11-year-old ask a series of questions that included “Daddy…why do you hate black people so much?”

Beck’s routine was prompted by a remark Obama made in his press conference Thursday, in which he said Malia had asked him earlier in the morning of the BP oil spill, "Did you plug the hole yet, Daddy?"

"Is that's their - that's the level of their education, that they're coming to - they're coming to daddy and saying 'Daddy, did you plug the hole yet?' Plug the hole!" said Beck of Malia's comments.

The White House has not responded to Beck’s comments.

Beck is typical of the garbage that comes out of Fox News.

How true, Larry. Its doubtful even the most faithful of *real American* Fox News fans actually know who owns Fox News. Or care, for that matter.

Interesting, though, that they allow *foreigners* to so brainwash them.

The ignorant responses by republicans to this article show what they are ignorant. Any person who put up with Bush for eight years and let him ruin this great country of ours and then have the gall to talk about a president and Democrats in congress trying their best over the republican delaying tatics to try to correct it are indeed ignorant and don't deserve to even be allowed to say they are Americans. SHUT THE HADES UP REPUBLICANS AND HELP CLEAN UP THIS COUNTRY FROM THE REPUBLICAN MESS BUSH MADE.

Thanks GI joe, you nailed it. These nut jobs can not get over McCain/Palin not winning the election. I would really hate to see what this great country would be like if those two would have been elected. Palin would have probably quit by now because the job was to hard and did not pay enough. All she knows how to do is spout hate and stupid remarks that make no sense.

Just another sign of many of the blatant racist attacks and open disrespect for the President because he's black. Plain and simple! No matter who's in Office I thought we are suppose to respect the Office and pray for them? As we can all clearly see there is an exception to this!

This is why I watch FOX everyday. They speak truth to the Obamist thugs. Mr. Obama has no complaint since he HIMSELF drug his daughter into the political mix. No apology is needed from Beck.

Daddy, did you plug the hole in Glenn Beck yet?

Moron.... I just try to ignore everything he says because nothing he says actually makes sense. No wonder sponsors drop him. The sad thing is that there are people that actually like and believe him.

Just another expected move from Beck, Palin , Limbaugh stooges. It's sad the Republicans champion these idiots. That just to show how low, American Society has sunk to, and whatever happens to us as a nation, well, we deserve it! I can't even begin to make a list of what lie mongering they have done over the past two years, and the twisting of the truth! Why can't anyone from the Right have some kind of intelligent debate about policy??

Beck is wrong again, he does not "debate." Just like Rush, everything that comes out of his mouth is a joke.
