(CNN) – Conservative talk-show host Glenn Beck apologized Friday after appearing to mock President Barack Obama’s 11-year-old daughter on his radio program earlier in the day.
In a statement posted on his website Friday afternoon, Beck said he broke his own rule about “leaving kids out of political debates.”
“In discussing how President Obama uses children to shield himself from criticism, I broke my own rule about leaving kids out of political debates,” said Beck in the statement. “The children of public figures should be left on the sidelines. It was a stupid mistake and I apologize–and as a dad I should have known better.”
Beck’s apology came hours after the radio host and his sidekicks imitated a pretend conversation between the president and Malia, in which Beck has his version of 11-year-old ask a series of questions that included “Daddy…why do you hate black people so much?”
Beck’s routine was prompted by a remark Obama made in his press conference Thursday, in which he said Malia had asked him earlier in the morning of the BP oil spill, "Did you plug the hole yet, Daddy?"
"Is that's their - that's the level of their education, that they're coming to - they're coming to daddy and saying 'Daddy, did you plug the hole yet?' Plug the hole!" said Beck of Malia's comments.
The White House has not responded to Beck’s comments.

I feel sorry for Beck's children that they have such a hateful ignoramous for a father.

Beck's apology means nothing. This man has said such outrageous things, twisted facts and down right lied about so many things. If he apologized for every idiotic thing he has uttered, he would be apologizing for years. The fact that he made 32 million dollars last year spouting his "opinions" is sickening.
I've made mistakes too in my 58 years. None serious against children, but then Beck has pressure, he needs to be blabbing all the time about something.
Beck told his fans that he was a rodeo clown, I think that was a warning to his fan that they are idiot for following him, his excuse is he is making a boatload of money, but what's his fans excuse, uh, I am dumb?
His attacks on children didn't offend me because I had already listed him in the sub-human class, no surprise there.
Ha. When you read the headline "Beck apologizes for mistake," did anyone else think: "Which one??!!"
Obama injected his daughter into what is really a political action. If Mr. Obama doesn't want his daughter caught up in the fight then he needs to keep his mouth the hell shut.
When you spew hate, lies and bigotry you will direct it at anybody to get ratings.
People who are listening to Beck need to think for themselves and stop being lazy and ignorant.

I urge everyone to boycott anything having to do with Mr. Beck's broadcast networks and advertising sponsors who all agree and endorse with his beliefs, behavior and policies.
