(CNN) – Conservative talk-show host Glenn Beck apologized Friday after appearing to mock President Barack Obama’s 11-year-old daughter on his radio program earlier in the day.
In a statement posted on his website Friday afternoon, Beck said he broke his own rule about “leaving kids out of political debates.”
“In discussing how President Obama uses children to shield himself from criticism, I broke my own rule about leaving kids out of political debates,” said Beck in the statement. “The children of public figures should be left on the sidelines. It was a stupid mistake and I apologize–and as a dad I should have known better.”
Beck’s apology came hours after the radio host and his sidekicks imitated a pretend conversation between the president and Malia, in which Beck has his version of 11-year-old ask a series of questions that included “Daddy…why do you hate black people so much?”
Beck’s routine was prompted by a remark Obama made in his press conference Thursday, in which he said Malia had asked him earlier in the morning of the BP oil spill, "Did you plug the hole yet, Daddy?"
"Is that's their - that's the level of their education, that they're coming to - they're coming to daddy and saying 'Daddy, did you plug the hole yet?' Plug the hole!" said Beck of Malia's comments.
The White House has not responded to Beck’s comments.

I know a lot of people in the midwest who idolize Glenn Beck. All I can say is that it's time to wake up. He is mean spirited, self promoting, me-first, and has a nasty temper that doesn't speak well of his character.
Though I'm a liberal, I mourn for the true conservatives – the civil bunch of non-interventionist and balanced budget types who keep my own party in check. It's a shame that their party has been hijacked by a lunatic fringe of shrill partisans and the fundamentalist Christian right – the latter group most accurately described as the "American Taliban."

"I am sorry" – As with commentators, politicians, sports persons & actors, who cheat on their spouses, speak without thinking, among other misteps, they expect the public, family & friends to believe & accept their apology. They are easy words to say but does anyone really believe they are sincere? They are sorry they have been caught in a serious lapse of common sense & consideration of others.
Glum Beek apologized for his stupid mistake. His mom then apologized for her stupid mistake. Not having that abortion.

It's Glenn Beck what more do you expect, I use to listen to him before Obama ran and became President, but ever since he seems to have gone over the deep end. The world is going to end, the other day he went back to Rev. Wright, give me a break and get over it. Having said that if the apology was sincere then that's good because the kids are not in Politics.
